Tottenham want to remain unbeaten in the North London Derby

The 22nd matchday is coming up in the Premier League! Tips and odds can be read in the following article clearly for all games. Due to the numerous match cancellations in recent weeks, the table is currently only of limited significance. However, this restriction does not apply to the teams at the top of the table, which have hardly been affected.

The champions from Manchester have already settled in comfortably here, as their former closest rivals Liverpool and Chelsea have recently stumbled. Now the Citizens will be looking for their next win at home against the Blues, while the Reds will be hoping for a home victory over promoted Brentford.

Further excitement is promised in the North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal, with Spurs coach Antonio Conte looking to remain unbeaten in his ninth game in charge of the Lilywhites in league action.

Brighton v Crystal Palace – 14 January, 21:00

The Seagulls, along with their south coast neighbours Southampton, remain the draw kings in the Premier League with nine draws in 19 games, but they did manage to win a majority of their games recently.

Two of the last three league games ended with a win for Hove, and in the meantime Chelsea were robbed of a point away from home. The home side’s form curve is therefore pointing upwards. The Eagles, for their part, started the new year with a defeat. The Londoners were beaten 3-2 by West Ham in the derby.

The visitors also have little hope in their away record: they have won only one of nine away games (1-3-5). For the match between Brighton and Crystal Palace, bets on a home win are therefore worth recommending.

Manchester City v Chelsea – 15 January, 16:00

The league leaders get a visit from the runners-up. Manchester have presented themselves like clockwork in the last week: For eleven league games they have always recorded the win at the end of the game!

This has enabled them to consolidate their position at the top of the table, as their upcoming opponents have only managed one win in their last five Premier League games. Meanwhile, City’s lead over the Blues is a whopping ten points!

For Manchester City’s top-of-the-table clash against Chelsea, predictions on a mutual goal celebration are worth considering. The home side are in good form and have the best defence, but Chelsea are a strong attacking opponent. The recent pardon of Romelu Lukaku is a good argument for this.

Burnley vs. Leicester – 15 January, 16:00

The Clarets can’t get out of their slump in form: they haven’t won in the Premier League for seven rounds of matches. On top of that, they were knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round against second division Huddersfield last weekend.

The Foxes, on the other hand, did their job in the competition very well, defeating their league rivals Watford 4-1 and winning their last league match against none other than Liverpool.

For the clash at Turf Moor between Burnley and Leicester, the odds on an away win are therefore of interest. The prediction is underpinned by the hosts’ withdrawal of Gnaly Cornet for the Africa Cup.

This leaves them without a powerful striker of recent weeks, who has scored an impressive six goals in his ten league games so far.

Newcastle v Watford – 15 January, 16:00

The Magpies are second to last in the Premier League and have the most goals conceded league-wide. Newcastle are also generally weak in home games, having won only one in ten (1-5-4). On the other hand, 13 of the 19 goals scored this season have been scored at home.

With Watford, a likewise weakening opponent travels to St. James’ Park: For six matchdays, the visitors have only recorded defeats! In addition, they were eliminated from the FA Cup by Leicester last weekend.

With this in mind, bets on at least two goals from the home side in the clash between Newcastle and Watford are recommended.

Norwich vs Everton – 15 January, 16:00

The “Canaries” will be a little tired coming into the game, with an extra catch-up game against West Ham on the schedule this week. Moreover, the bottom team is not in a good shape anyway and only occupies the last place in the Premier League table.

An assessment that has to be made in equal measure for the visitors at the moment, however. The Toffees have slipped to 15th place and are far away from their season goals. Even in their last competitive match in the FA Cup at the second division club from Hull, they only managed a victory with a lot of effort and after extra time.

In the match between two struggling teams between Norwich and Everton, there is enough value to be found in the odds on a draw.

Wolverhampton v Southampton – 15 January, 16:00

Wolves have stabilised recently: they haven’t lost for three rounds of matches and recently even managed a 1-0 win at Manchester United. The close result to zero can also be taken as a synonym for the team.

The attack has just 14 goals after 19 games – only the bottom team from Norwich scores less often. At the same time, the defence is very solid, as only the league leaders Manchester City have a better record than the 14 goals conceded by the home side.

In view of this, predictions of less than 2.5 goals by the final whistle at the Molineux Stadium in the match between Wolverhampton and Southampton are the first choice of the betting base. Only three of the hosts’ 19 games ended with at least three goals and their average of 1.5 goals is clearly the lowest in the Premier League.

Aston Villa v Manchester United – 15 January, 18:30

Aston Villa and MUFC already faced each other in the FA Cup this week. Here, the Red Devils scored a 1-0 victory at home to Old Trafford. The hosts also have little hope from their dismal home record in this fixture. They have not beaten Manchester at Villa Park for 27 years!

Predictions of a mutual goal celebration appear fruitful for the match between Aston Villa and Manchester United. Since Steven Gerrard took over as the new coach of the home side, the Villans’ attack has improved.

The hosts have failed to score in only one of their nine games with him in charge, while the defence remains vulnerable – as only two clean sheets in this flashback reveal. They did lose to MUFC last Monday, but only because of a goal by Danny Ings that was disallowed by the VAR.

Liverpool v Brentford – 16 January, 15:00

Coach Jürgen Klopp’s side have lost ground in the Championship battle. The Reds have been waiting for their next win for three league games, which also means they are only good enough for third place in the table. With Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, two important offensive players are now missing due to the Africa Cup.

For the match at Anfield Road between Liverpool and Brentford, betting tips on a goal by Diogo Jota are a good idea. The Portuguese has already scored ten goals in 19 league games this season and will now be particularly challenged by the personnel situation in the offensive.

Jota’s recent performances at Anfield Road also speak in favour of a goal: the 25-year-old has scored as many goals in the last four home games!

West Ham v Leeds United – 16 January, 15:00

West Ham and Leeds also faced each other in the FA Cup last weekend. The Londoners deserved to win 2-0, although from an objective point of view the victory was one goal too high and the second goal came at the end of injury time.

The hosts will now have to do without the in-form Mohamed Said Benrahma, as the Algerian is currently playing for his home country in the Africa Cup. In addition, the footballers from the Thames already had to play a make-up game against Norwich this week, which gives the visitors a physical advantage.

Marcelo Bielsa, on the other hand, does not enjoy coaching in London: as manager of Leeds, he lost seven of his eight matches in the capital (1-0-7).

For the match between West Ham and Leeds United, betting on goals on both sides is a good idea. Even though the hosts recently won without conceding a goal against United, the above points point to a goal celebration on both sides this time.

This is also backed up by the home side’s previously always fragile defence, which had to wait over five games in league action and EFL Cup for the next clean sheet until the recent cup tie.

Tottenham v Arsenal – 16 January, 17:30

Antonio Conte remains unbeaten in league action as Spurs coach (five wins and three draws), but he has a very poor record against the Gunners. He won only one of his eight duels with Arsenal as former Chelsea coach between 2016 and 2018 in the Premier League (1-4-3).

This represents the worst record for him against clubs he has coached against at least five times during his career! However, Conte has the top scorer in the history of the North London derby at his fingertips in Harry Kane. The striker has already scored eleven goals in his 16 appearances in the pairing.

Rivals Arsenal will again rely heavily on Bukayo Saka: In the past five league games, the youngster has always been directly or indirectly involved in an Arsenal goal. He scored four goals and set up two others for Arteta’s side.

Should Saka score again or set up a goal, he would become the youngest player in the history of the division at 20 years and 133 days with such a record in six consecutive games.

For the match between Tottenham and Arsenal, however, the forecast includes a home win. The hosts can move past their upcoming opponents in the table with a win and look much improved since Conte took over as coach.

The Gunners will also be without the suspended Gabriel in defence and embarrassed themselves in their last competitive match against Nottingham in the FA Cup, when they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the City Ground.
