She has not been able to add another title to her previous two on the WTA Tour this season. In general, you rarely know what to expect from Yulia Putintseva. Sometimes she plays great tennis and then it slackens off again.

Recently, for example, the Kazakh reached the quarter-finals of the Masters in Toronto after defeating Paula Badosa and Alison Riske, among others. After that, however, Putintseva was eliminated in the first round in Cincinnati and Cleveland.
