Pecco dark after the Sprint in Austria: “I arrived at the first corner without brakes. It made no sense to continue.”
A nightmare that seems never-ending. After feeling good on Friday and finishing third in qualifying, Francesco Bagnaia retired from the Sprint due to a rear tire problem: “I’d like to wait for Michelin to tell me what happened,” said the Ducati rider. “From the warm-up, I felt something strange, then I had a sudden slide. After three laps, the tire was gone and the bike was very unstable. I got to the first corner with no brakes and that’s where I retired because there was no point in continuing.“
Another chance— Bagnaia will try again in tomorrow’s race, which will start at 2 p.m. ”Things like this shouldn’t happen. Yesterday I had a fantastic feeling, qualifying didn’t go as we expected, but I finished third. In the Sprint, however, nothing worked. Tomorrow there’s another race and we hope to do better. I wouldn’t trade the front row for a cleaner start.”
