Italy head coach Gattuso has announced the 27-player roster for the final two matches of the World Cup qualifying group stage. The team will gather at Coverciano starting Monday
Gennaro Gattuso has made his selections. The Azzurri head coach has released the roster for the final two matches of the World Cup qualifying group stage, scheduled for Thursday, November 13, in Chisinau against Moldova and Sunday, November 16, in Milan against Norway. For the training camp set to begin on Monday, November 10, in Coverciano, Gattuso has called up 27 players: this marks the first call-up for Cagliari goalkeeper Elia Caprile, while Alessandro Buongiorno and Samuele Ricci return to the Azzurri squad after being absent since March 2025 and last June, respectively. Gianluca Scamacca is also back on the roster; he had already been selected by Gattuso in September but was forced to leave the training camp before the match against Estonia in Bergamo because he hadn’t fully recovered from the injury he’d been dealing with when he arrived at Coverciano. Nicolò Barella, who received a yellow card on October 14 during the match against Israel, will miss the game against Moldova due to suspension. Three Azzurri players are on a one-match suspension: Andrea Cambiaso, Davide Frattesi, and Sandro Tonali.
