Can the Canaries make it exciting again?

Tottenham Hotspur have picked up seven points from a possible nine in league action under new manager Antonio Conte. To talk of a turnaround, however, would be premature in view of the fact that the home games against Leeds and Brentford were must-win affairs.

This game against the resurgent Canaries, who have gone unbeaten in four league games in a row and taken eight points from a possible 12, is also a must-win for Spurs. In the run-up to the encounter between Tottenham and Norwich, the odds are swinging in favour of the Lilywhites.

Two circumstances should not be ignored, however. Firstly, Spurs are still unusually tame, as evidenced by just 13 goals from 13 league games. And secondly, Norwich have been really stable defensively again since the change of coach. So there is a lot to be said for a close and low-scoring match, which is why it makes a lot of sense to play Tottenham vs Norwich tip 2 with an Asian handicap of +1.5.

This bet covers any Spurs win with a one-goal difference in addition to any surprise point win by the East of England underdogs. Meanwhile, the Joker bet with cashback bonus is also excellent for this tip.

Tottenham – Statistics & current form

After Tottenham Hotspur were permanent guests in the UEFA Champions League between four years in a row, in which the journey even went as far as the final in the 2018/19 season, Spurs last missed out on successful qualification for the top flight twice in a row.

This season, the Londoners, who finished seventh in the pre-season, are only allowed to take part in the Conference League, in which they even disgraced themselves in the last match. They lost 2-1 away to Slovenian underdogs NS Mura.

Seven points out of a possible nine under Conte

Next Thursday, the Lilywhites’ survival in this competition even hangs in the balance at home against Stade Rennes, a club already confirmed as group winners. In addition, Spurs did not get off to a good start in the Premier League either, which is why Nuno Espirito Santo, who was presented as the coach of choice in the summer, had to pack his bags after just 17 games.

With Antonio Conte, a coach has now been brought to London who most recently led Chelsea to the championship (2017) and the FA Cup (2018). Excluding the defeat against NS Mura, the first interim result under the eccentric Italian is good. In league play, Spurs picked up seven points out of a possible nine.

Harry Kane still not scoring under Conte

However, Antonio Conte has not yet been able to bring Harry Kane, who is currently suffering from a lack of goals, out of his slumber. The 28-year-old star striker still has just one goal in twelve Premier League appearances.

Partly because of his drought, the Lilywhites have only 13 goals from their first 13 league games on record. It is therefore appropriate to play Tottenham v Norwich tip 2 with an Asian handicap of +1.5.

Norwich – Statistics & current form

Norwich City were promoted as champions of the Championship this summer. The traditional East English club from County Norfolk dominated the country’s second-tier division in all its form under German coach Daniel Farke, but then – as they did in their one-year stints in 2015/16 and 2019/20 – failed to keep pace one division higher.

The Canaries picked up only two points out of a possible 30 from their first ten league games, which is why the officials also opted for a change on the coaching bench. It was curious that the dismissal, which had already been decided in advance, was announced after the first league win.

Still unbeaten in three league games under Dean Smith

Even more curious, meanwhile, is that that very 2-1 away win at Brentford heralded an upward trend for the Yellows. Under Farke’s successor Dean Smith, who had previously been sacked by Aston Villa, Norwich City took five points from a possible nine and remained unbeaten in three games.

This means that after ten league games in a row without a win, a short series of four games in a row without defeat is now on record. The Canaries have now relinquished the red lantern to Newcastle United, and on Tuesday night they drew 1-1 with the Magpies to ensure that they did not slip back down to 20th place.

At least one goal in four of the last five league games

In the process, Dean Smith was able to stabilise the Yellows’ defence in the first step, which was still suffering a crushing 7-0 defeat at Chelsea in the third-last game under the management of Daniel Farbe.

Conversely, with their attack also scoring regularly again and having scored in four of their last five league games, the underdogs, who have been boosted by renewed confidence, could have something to gain from Spurs, who are not too offensively potent.

Predicted Norwich line-up:
Krul – Williams – Gibson – Hanley – Aarons – Rupp – Tzolis – McLean – Gilmour – Sargent – Pukki

Last matches played by Norwich:

11/30 2021 – Newcastle United 1 – 1 Norwich

11/20 2021 – Norwich 2 – 1 Southampton

11/06 2021 – Brentford 1 – 2 Norwich

10/31 2021 – Norwich 1 – 2 Leeds

Tottenham – Norwich Direct Comparison / H2H Balance

Head to head: 32 – 18 – 24

There have been a total of 74 meetings between the two teams and the Spurs lead the head-to-head comparison with 32 wins. The last time the two teams faced each other was in the FA Cup in March 2020. After a 1-1 draw in regulation time in London, the Canaries edged out the Lilywhites 3-2 on penalties.

Tottenham – Norwich Tip

For Tottenham vs Norwich, the prediction has to take into account that coaching changes have brought a breath of fresh air to both teams. Both Spurs are still unbeaten under Antonio Conte since taking over and the Canaries under Dean Smith, who could also clearly stabilise the defensive of the promoted team in particular.

However, the Londoners have failed to find Harry Kane, who has only scored one goal in twelve games. Accordingly, we do not expect a clear victory for Spurs, who are sometimes too tame offensively.

We therefore see a lot of value in betting on the Canaries with an Asian handicap of +1.5, which would also include any surprising point win by the promoted team.
