Do Spurs use the home bonus again?

Tottenham v Frankfurt goes into its second edition. After a goalless draw last week on the Main, the home side will now be hoping for home advantage.

In the Premier League, moreover, the dress rehearsal succeeded last weekend with a victory in the top match at Brighton.

The “Adler” again messed up their latest appearance in the Bundesliga in the form of a clear 0:3 defeat against Bochum. For the upcoming clash between Tottenham and Frankfurt, the tip is aimed at the next defeat of the guests.

Tottenham – Statistics & current form

The Londoners have not looked good against German teams recently. For five duels with Bundesliga teams, the Lilywhites have been waiting for their next victory. Against this background, last week’s draw was even a success, as the four previous comparisons all ended in defeat.

The home side also has a poor home record against German clubs: They lost four of their last six home games against clubs from the German top flight (2-0-4). However, they are encouraged by their recent international home record in the top flight: Spurs have won nine of their last eleven home matches in the group stage (9-0-2)!

Attack with room for improvement in the premier class

Coach Antonio Conte, however, has not been satisfied with his team’s attack in the competition lately. For two games now, the 1963 European Cup Winners’ Cup winners have been waiting for their next goal.

The form of the two-time UEFA Cup winners (1972 & 1984) can nevertheless be considered consistent. Tottenham have already put the painful defeat in the London derby against Arsenal on the penultimate matchday behind them.

The two-time British champions, who last won 61 years ago, were able to take three points away from home at Brighton last weekend, as described at the beginning. Thanks to the success, Spurs are in a very good third place.

Tottenham also with snow-white home waistcoat in Premier League

In addition, the eight-time FA Cup triumphant can rely on the basic home bonus. The north London side have won all four of their Premier League games and their only home match in the top flight so far was a 2-0 victory over Marseille. The home side have now won eight home games in a row in league and Champions League play!

Predicted line-up of Tottenham:
Lloris – Romero – Dier – Leglet – Parisic – Bentancur – Hojbjerg – Emerson Royal – Richarlison – Kane – Son

Frankfurt – Statistics & current form

The Hessians have enjoyed recent trips to the island, winning each of their past two outings to Arsenal in November 2019 and West Ham in April this year 2-1.

Furthermore, the visitors, who are in the top flight for the first time in their history, recorded their first away win in the competition in their penultimate group game at Marseille.

However, no German team has ever won its first two away games in the Champions League. Furthermore, the offensive has remained pale so far. The goal against OM was the only one scored in the competition so far.

Will the hosts prevail with clean sheet?

With this in mind, odds on a home win to nil are also on offer for the clash between Tottenham and Frankfurt. The prediction is supported by the last very weak performance in the Bundesliga.

As mentioned at the beginning, the team lost 0:3 against Bochum, who were bottom of the table. It was the first win of the season for the form-weak VfL!

While the attacking line of coach Oliver Glasner’s team had previously been quite efficient in the Bundesliga, the performances of offensive players such as Daichi Kamada and Randal Kolo Muani were not very convincing in the top flight.

Both players, who have collectively produced a handsome six goals and eight assists in league action, are still waiting for a goal in the Champions League for the two-time UEFA Cup and Europa League winners.

No more than two goals in a game?

As the home side’s attack has also been subdued so far on the international stage with two goals, betting on less than three goals in the showdown between Tottenham and Frankfurt, as in the first leg, is also a good idea.

Both teams are also reliable defensively, which is why they each have a low average of 1.3 goals per group game.

Moreover, all three group games of the hosts ended with less than 2.5 goals and in the case of the 1959 German champions only the first one did not! On top of that, both teams have negative Expected Goals: Frankfurt (-2) and Tottenham (-1.8).

Predicted line-up of Frankfurt:
Trapp – Tuta – Hasebe – N’Dicka – Knauff – Sow – Rode – Götze – Lindström – Kamada – Kolo Muani

17/09/2022 – VfB Stuttgart 1 – 3 Eintracht Frankfurt

Champions League Grp. D
14/09/2022 – Marseille 0 – 1 Eintracht Frankfurt

Tottenham – Frankfurt Direct comparison / H2H-Balance

Last week’s goalless draw was the third meeting between the two clubs. They previously met in the quarter-finals of the European Cup Winners’ Cup in the 1981/82 season.

Tottenham won 2-0 at home and Frankfurt won 2-1 on their own turf in the second leg to advance to the next round.

However, they were beaten in the following semi-final by eventual winners FC Barcelona, coached by German Udo Lattek.

Tottenham – Frankfurt tip

In the clash between Tottenham and Frankfurt, the prediction includes a home win. Although the home side only won on the first matchday in the Champions League, the last two group matches were also played away from home.

At home, the better-stocked London squad should once again prevail against the “Eagles”, as it did against Marseille. The home strength can also be observed in the Premier League: The hosts have won a season-long total of seven league games!

The visitors have also noticed recently that the double burden of the top flight and the Bundesliga is taking its toll. They conceded a clear defeat against last-placed Bochum.

Tottenham, on the other hand, scored an away win at Brighton and it is obvious that the home side’s squad, which is also stronger in terms of width, is better able to cope with the current numerous games in the various competitions. For Tottenham vs. Frankfurt this prediction brings odds of up to 1.54.
