Raspadori goes to Atletico, the city dreams of the English winger who has no place with Guardiola

All in a hurry, without saying goodbye. Without a hug that Giacomo Raspadori perhaps deserved more than anyone else: three seasons, many appearances on the bench, yet two league titles and goals that made history. Jack leaves without slamming the door, of course. However, his absence from the stage on the day of the presentation still caused a stir: an hour earlier, he was still on the pitch training, working hard under Conte, receiving the applause of what is now his former fans. Then, after the afternoon session, Jack was joined on the pitch by sporting director Giovanni Manna, who informed him of his transfer to Atletico. It was a bolt from the blue for many fans, a missed opportunity for everyone, perhaps: for Raspadori, who leaves as the star of the tricolor campaign after a first half of the season with few minutes under his belt. He leaves because his hybrid and attacking versatility clearly does not fit in with the needs of the new Napoli. So much so that Jack, during this month’s training camp, was playing as a central midfielder, not exactly the position where he would like to try to return to prominence.

The negotiations were all over very quickly: Atletico and Napoli reached an agreement based on 22 million plus bonuses, for a total deal worth around 26 million euros. The exchange of documents took place last night, and Jack will leave today. Time will tell if it was a wise choice for Napoli, but now it is certainly time to get back to work to complete this Azzurri revolution, which is full of twists and turns, as well as real transfer coups. The game is easy: Jack out, an ace in, right? Let’s say that the initial scenario was and should be this, and Napoli is making the necessary assessments. Certainly, the real post-Kvara has never arrived, and a big signing on the wings would be welcome: City’s Grealish remains the candidate who would most ignite the fans’ dreams. He is out of Guardiola’s plans, but he earns around $15 million: too much for Napoli, but not only for them. In the background, keep an eye on Chiesa leaving Liverpool, Kevin from Shakhtar, and Nusa from Leipzig: the latter two are expensive, but never say never.

Viva la Spagna—  Napoli, in fact, has already finalized its seventh signing, which will only become official in the coming days. Everything is done for Miguel Gutierrez: Girona will receive $18 million plus $2 million in bonuses. Today, on the sidelines of a friendly match, the two clubs will sign the contracts, and the player will be able to arrive in Italy early next week for a medical. And who knows, maybe he’ll do the same with another Spaniard, Juanlu Sanchez of Sevilla, who has been waiting for Napoli for months now. The agreement with the player is in place, but the Andalusian club wants 20 million plus a percentage of any future sale, while Napoli is sticking at 17. Negotiations are ongoing, but Juanlu’s willingness could help.

ora musah—  Meanwhile, Napoli seems to have changed its strategy in midfield as well: talks with Juventus for Miretti have been suspended for a couple of days, after the latest offer of 14 million plus bonuses was clearly deemed insufficient by the Bianconeri. So, on Thursday evening, Napoli presented a new offer to Milan for Musah of 22 million plus three in bonuses. It’s a surprising return of interest, a request from Conte who is looking for versatility, muscle, and pace to compete with Anguissa. Yunus seemed close to Nottingham Forest, but now he wants to wait and see how things develop. Musah would prefer Napoli, unlike what happened with Ndoye. And for De Lautentiis and Manna, it would also be sweet revenge on the English.
