The 24-year-old, a student in Milan, was at the stadium with friends when she felt unwell and went to the restrooms; that is where the groping allegedly took place
Harassed in the restrooms at San Siro during the Italy-Norway match: this is what a 24-year-old Norwegian student, enrolled at a Milanese university, claims. The young woman was at the stadium with a group of fellow Norwegians to watch the game when, feeling unwell, she went to the restrooms accompanied by a friend, who remained outside the restrooms. According to her account, she was approached and groped by a male janitor.
Visibly shaken, the student later identified the man—a 25-year-old Egyptian—and reported him to a steward, who detained him and escorted him to the stadium’s police station. The Egyptian man is under investigation on sexual assault charges but remains free pending further investigation. The 25-year-old denied the allegations to the officers, saying he had only approached the girl because he noticed she wasn’t feeling well. The police are seeking additional witnesses to clarify what happened.
