Will the Gunners remain unbeaten this season?

Fans can look forward to a classic on the fifth matchday of the Premier League. Liverpool will host the Blues against the Gunners from London for the 205th league match between these teams. However, the two teams go into the match under completely different circumstances. The visitors are riding a wave of success and have already clinched their first title in the Community Shield. The big favorites for the championship title from Manchester were defeated on penalties. Also in the duel between Everton and Arsenal, the predictions of the bookmakers see the advantages on the side of the Cannoniers.

The glory days of the Toffees are quite some time ago now and the fans saw their team in the bottom third of the standings in the last two years. Last season, the club invested a few euros in the offense, especially in this part of the team. However, the desired success has not yet been achieved. In the clash, the Everton vs Arsenal tip will reward a bet on the hosts with odds of 6.00 at the top.

There has been little for the red and whites at Goodison Park in recent years. Only one point has been picked up in the last five games. This series should end this weekend. We’ll find out if they succeed on Sunday at 5:30 p.m., when the whistle blows in Liverpool. The home side face the threat of the red lantern at the end of the matchday in the worst case scenario.

Everton – statistics & current form

During the successful times of the Toffees, the years were still written with a nineteen at the beginning. The last championship dates from 1987 and the last FA Cup triumph succeeded eight years later. In recent years, there has been a clear downward trend and last season the team only just managed to stay in the league.

The Blues also made a bad start to the current season. After four match days, only one point has been earned. With just one measly point, they are currently only in 18th place and thus in the first direct relegation spot in the table. Only the two promoted teams, Luton Town and Burnley, are ranked behind the hosts.

Everton are winless in four games

After three defeats in a row against Fulham FC (0:1) and Wolves (0:1), and at Aston Villa (0:4), they managed to get their first point on the last matchday. At Sheffield United, a 2-2 draw finally put something countable on the scoreboard.

In the EFL Cup, the hosts reached the sixteen-finals with a 2-1 win at bottom side Doncaster Rovers. Here, the Villans now await the Toffees in the next round.
Head coach Sean Dyche should be particularly concerned about the poor goal tally. His men only scored twice, which is the worst figure in the Premier League, together with Luton. On the positive side, the spell against Sheffield was broken after three goalless games. The defensive record is only marginally better. Keeper Pickford has already conceded eight goals. Only four teams have conceded more goals.

The Blues with poor home record

The Toffees’ home record does not favor success on Sunday. Of their last seven Championship games season-long, the only win came against AFC Bournemouth, 1-0. Otherwise, there were five defeats. Now the Gunners are coming to Goodison Park, a team in good form. Accordingly, the home side will initially be the underdogs. If Dyche’s team wins, the Everton vs Arsenal odds are offered at a factor of 6.00.

Predicted lineup of Everton:

Everton (Expected lineup) 4-2-3-1

Arsenal – statistics & current form

Just missed is also over! It’s been a long time since the Gunners came this close to winning their fourteenth league title. Since 2004, fans of the Gunners have been waiting for this day. But in the final spurt of last season, the red and white ran out of breath and the Citizens prevailed after all. The Himmelblauen were five points ahead of the visitors in the final standings. So now it’s Arsenal’s next attempt to snatch the title.

They didn’t invest in quantity, but they did invest in quality. For Declan Rice from the Hammers and Kai Havertz from Chelsea FC, the club dug deep into its pockets and spent more than 200 million euros. The start to the new season is going well and we can certainly expect a lot from the Londoners.

Arsenal is undefeated after four matchdays

After four matchdays, the Gunners’ account shows ten points. Three victories and a point-split are the yield of the first games. At the moment, the Red and Whites are in fifth place in the table, two points behind Manchester City, who are the only team to take full points.

The victories came against Nottingham Forest (2:1), at Crystal Palace (1:0) and most recently against Manchester United (3:1). Only against Fulham FC was it only enough for a 2-2 draw in the end. This means that the Gunners are unbeaten in six competitive matches this season.

Gunners with decent away record

The away record is also quite respectable. In the last eleven matches on the opponent’s field, the guests went only twice as a loser from the field. Under these circumstances, it is not surprising that head coach Mikel Arteta’s team is favored in the upcoming clash. If the Londoners win, the Everton and Arsenal odds offer a bonus of 1.55 times the staked value.

With eight goals scored in four games, the offensive forces of the red and whites are already in a scoring mood again. Only five teams have scored more often so far. Three players – Odegaard, Nketiah and Saka – scored twice. Four goals conceded means third place in this statistic.

Predicted Arsenal lineup:

FC Arsenal (Expected lineup) 4-3-3

Everton – Arsenal Direct comparison / H2H balance

The two traditional teams have met 204 times in the Premier League. 61 victories go to the account of the Toffees and 110 times the Gunners were successful. In the upcoming duel, the guests assume the role of favorites. Between Everton and Arsenal, all forecasts point to a clear victory for the visitors. In the last two seasons, it was always the home team that won the match.

The distribution of victories has been very even in recent years. In the most recent eleven duels, each team has recorded five victories. The red and whites have had little to gain at Goodison Park in recent times. None of the last five encounters went to the gunners.

Everton – Arsenal tip

Relegation fears versus title hopes, that’s how our duel can be dubbed. The guests from London will certainly play a good role in the fight for the championship again this year. Whether they can finish ahead of the big favorites from Manchester this time remains to be seen. The Gunners made selective reinforcements during the summer break and thus brought even more quality into the squad. After four matchdays, the red and whites are undefeated and that should continue this weekend.

For the hosts, a similarly difficult season as last year is on the horizon. The Toffees are still waiting for their first win of the season. However, we are sure that the squad is sufficiently strong that it will certainly be possible to keep the team in the league. However, we’re not making any predictions about how far up the standings they’ll go, and we’ll wait and see in the next few weeks. If it is to be enough for them this weekend to a three-pointer, the efficiency in the offense must be urgently increased.

Personally, we see Mikel Arteta’s team in a much better position in this duel. From our point of view, there is a lot to be said for a success of the guests.

Although the home side’s offense has struggled to find the necessary penetration so far, we expect a high-scoring game on Sunday. The red and whites will do their part. Alternatively, in the match Everton vs Arsenal, at betting odds of 1.67, the bet on a match with at least three goals is therefore a good choice.
