Los Blancos are looking for their first win in the United States against Mexican side Pachuca. Below you will find predictions, updated odds, and the most interesting bets to consider before kickoff.
Football fans can get ready for another big event in the Club World Cup in the United States. The most successful team in the competition, Real Madrid, returns to action for their second Group H match. The record-breaking Spanish side face Mexican side Pachuca on Sunday at 9 p.m. in a match that you can watch live on DAZN.
This is Real Madrid’s seventh appearance in the Club World Cup. On six previous occasions, they have lifted the trophy five times. Their first triumph came in 2014 against San Lorenzo (2-0 in the final in Morocco), while their last came three years ago, also in Morocco, with a 5-3 victory over Al-Hilal.
Pachuca, a Liga MX club, will try to upset the odds. The Mexican team is making its fifth appearance but has never won the tournament. Judging by the odds offered by the leading bookmakers, few believe that the drought will end in this edition.

Real Madrid must react
Real Madrid is the most prestigious name in the United States this summer, and as such, it is the ideal target for all contenders. Los Blancos dominated the tournament in its previous format and now want to prove they can triumph in the new, longer and more competitive version. To get off to a good start in Group H, they were clearly aiming for victory in their opening game. But the first test of the 2025 CWC did not go as planned.
On Wednesday, Xabi Alonso’s team faced Al-Hilal, runners-up in the Saudi Pro League, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The Madrid side started as favorites but had to settle for a draw against a determined and well-organized opponent. Al-Hilal played with character and without fear, causing problems for a star-studded squad. If confirmation was needed, Real Madrid realized that winning the trophy this year will be anything but easy.
The opening goal came in the 34th minute with a fine piece of play by Gonzalo Garcia, who lobbed Bounou with a chip shot. The fans were expecting a second goal, but Al-Hilal responded strongly. Ruben Neves equalized from the penalty spot just before halftime. In the final minutes, Madrid had the chance to win it, but missed a decisive penalty in stoppage time. Now the pressure is all on Los Blancos, who need an immediate response. And we expect it to come.
Tip: Real Madrid 1 handicap – priced at 1.67 on bet365, 1.60 on Planetwin365 and 1.85 on GoldBet
Explanation of the bet: if Real Madrid wins by at least two goals, the bet is a winner.
The Mexicans don’t score
Pachuca, a Liga MX club, doesn’t have much in common with Real Madrid, except that both teams failed to win their first game of the 2025 CWC. The Mexicans faced Red Bull Salzburg at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, in front of just over 5,000 spectators, in a stadium that can hold over 25,000. Many expected a balanced match, and that’s how it turned out: three goals, plenty of balance, and a hard-fought game until the end. The Austrians came out on top with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
Oscar Gloukh put Salzburg ahead in the 42nd minute, sending the teams into the break with the score at 1-0. Pachuca’s response came just 11 minutes into the second half, with Bryan Alonso González scoring to reignite the match. Both teams knew that this was probably their best chance to take all three points, and there were plenty of opportunities. However, Karim Onisiwo’s goal in the 76th minute decided the match.
Pachuca showed encouraging signs and, at times, looked in control. They had more possession and a greater number of shots on goal than Salzburg, but lacked precision in front of goal. Now they face a much tougher opponent. And from what we’ve seen, there’s little reason to believe that Pachuca can seriously trouble Real Madrid. We expect a difficult game for the Mexicans.
Tip: Real Madrid to win without conceding – odds 2.10 at bet365, 2.05 at Planetwin365 and 2.05 at GoldBet.
