Celtic under pressure!
In the Champions League, crunch time now begins with the fourth matchday. Decisions will already be made in some groups this week. In Group F, for example, Real Madrid can already book their place in the last 16. This also applies to our match between Celtic Glasgow and RB Leipzig, who are both looking at least at second place to enter the knockout round.
A look at the table shows that the defending champions from the Spanish capital already have one foot in the play-offs after three matchdays. With nine points, the Royals are well ahead of the competition. Behind them, however, the other three teams are fighting for places. Shakhtyor Donetsk are currently in second place with four points. RB Leipzig follow in third with three points, and the Scots from Celtic Glasgow are not yet out of contention with one point.
In the direct duel between the Hoops and the Bulls, however, a home win is absolutely necessary, otherwise the Scots’ chances of surviving the winter in the top flight are only theoretical.
With a match in Saxony, things would probably be clearer, as RB have won all their home matches against Scottish teams on international soil. On Scottish soil, however, the Bulls have yet to reap anything. Therefore, we can imagine placing a bet on a home win between Celtic Glasgow and RB Leipzig, perhaps with the addition of DNB.
Celtic Glasgow – Statistics & current form
It is extremely difficult for Scottish clubs to compete in the Champions League. It is simply due to finances, because the national Premier League is only of interest for the derby between Celtic and Rangers. It’s also the reason why the Hoops, despite a reputed home strength, have recently conceded six home defeats in a row in the top flight.
Holesome defence at international level
Adding to that, they have only played to nil once in their last 23 European Cup games. This could mean that you should look at the odds on both teams scoring in the clash between Celtic Glasgow and RB Leipzig. In the Scottish league, however, Ange Postecoglou’s team is still at the top. After nine games, they have a very good 24 points to their name.
Last weekend, however, they almost suffered an unexpected loss of points. The Hoops hosted St Johnstone and led 1-0 at the break after an own goal. The home side equalised in the third minute of injury time but Georgios Giakoumakis had the final say two minutes later, virtually at the final whistle, in a 2-1 away win.
On Tuesday, however, a very different Celtic side will now be on the pitch at Celtic Park. Ange Postecoglou will again rotate his regular formation onto the field. This could again include German centre-back Moritz Jenz, who wants to use the opportunity to apply for a job in the Bundesliga. Captain Callum McGregor and centre-back Carl Starfelt remain out.
Predicted line-up of Celtic Glasgow:
Hart – Juranovic, Carter-Vickers, Jenz, Taylor – O’Riley, Haksabanovic, Hatate – Maeda, Jota, Furuhashi – Coach: Postecoglou

RB Leipzig – Statistics & current form
It hasn’t been RB Leipzig’s season so far. The best indication of this is that Domenico Tedesco has already been sacked and replaced by Marco Rose. However, the former Dortmund coach has not been the saviour so far either. In the Bundesliga table, the Saxons are still far behind their own expectations in eleventh place.
Away misery continues
This is mainly due to the fact that RasenBallsport have not yet won a single away game this season. In addition, the Bullen have only won three of their last eleven games in the top flight. It doesn’t sound like you have to make a prediction on the Bundesliga team’s success between Celtic Glasgow and RB Leipzig.
Once again, RB was far too passive away from home for far too long last weekend. In Mainz, Marco Rose’s team fell behind 0:1 at the break. Only in the final phase did the Saxons develop pressure and equalised ten minutes before the end through Christopher Nkunku. But again it was not enough to win.
It is conceivable that there will be some personnel changes on Tuesday. Andre Silva, who was the match-winner against the Scots in the first leg, has a good chance of starting. Josko Gvardiol, David Raum or Kevin Kampl are also possible candidates for the starting eleven. The injured Peter Gulacsi, Lukas Klostermann, Konrad Laimer and Dani Olmo will not play.
Predicted line-up of RB Leipzig:
Blaswich – Raum, Gvardiol, Orban, Henrichs – Kampl, Schlager – Szoboszlai, Nkunku, Forsberg – Silva – Coach: Rose

Celtic Glasgow – RB Leipzig Direct comparison / H2H Ranking
In the 2018/19 season, Celtic Glasgow and RB Leipzig met in the group stage of the Europa League and this year the two clubs face each other in the Champions League. So far, three games have been played and the direct comparison is in favour of the Saxons with 2-1 victories, but they won both encounters at home and lost at Celtic Park.
It was just a week ago when the two clubs last faced each other. Leipzig claimed a 3-1 home win at the Red Bull Arena. Christopher Nkunku put his side 1-0 up after half an hour. Immediately after the restart, Jota equalised. Andre Silva then scored a brace to make it 3-1 at home.
Celtic Glasgow – RB Leipzig Tip
Both teams are dragging negative streaks ahead of Tuesday’s match. Celtic Glasgow have lost their last six games at Celtic Park in the group stage of the top flight. The Hoops are actually considered strong at home, but in the Champions League they have not been able to provide proof of competitiveness in their own arena lately either.
In the last 23 European Cup games, the Scots have only played to nil once. Perhaps the Bulls are the perfect opponent now, as Leipzig have never scored on Scottish soil. They are also without an away win all season.
We definitely think both teams will score. However, the quotes on this bet are correspondingly low. If you are afraid of a bigger risk, you could do well with a bet on goals from both teams. However, we can imagine that the Bulls will not reap anything away from home again and have therefore decided to play the betting odds on a home win with DNB between Celtic Glasgow and RB Leipzig.
