Next point loss for Bayern?

Although there are only five matchdays completed in the Bundesliga, it is still very unusual not to see FC Bayern at the top. Should there really be something like a title race this year, despite the Munich team’s heavy investment? We don’t think so yet, even if VfB Stuttgart is the next club that wants to give the record champions a run for their money.

There were times when the clash between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart was the southern summit between two teams at the top of the table. Of course, this is still true for the FCB, but the Swabians continue to have problems establishing themselves in the top flight. Therefore, there is no need to dwell too long on the role of the favourites in this match.

Even if the Munich team stumbles a bit, they are still in third place with eleven points. Front-runner Freiburg is only one point away. They are still very relaxed about the matter at Säbener Straße, especially since they should clinch the next three points on Saturday.

The Swabians come to the Bavarian metropolis with the youngest squad in the top flight. VfB are still waiting for their first win of the season. Four points from five games currently mean twelfth place. However, the relegation zone is not far away and therefore we believe that you can be successful in the match between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart with a bet on a win for the record champions.

Bayern – Statistics & current form

While Bayern have scored 17 goals, by far the most in the Bundesliga, 13 of those goals have come from games against Bochum and Frankfurt alone. At times it looks as if the Munich team has a bit of a scoring drought. Perhaps Robert Lewandowski’s goals are not so easily distributed among other shoulders after all. Sadio Mane, for example, is still waiting for his first goal at the Allianz Arena.

Unbeaten Bayern

While Bayern continue to play one-way football. Nevertheless, there were only two draws in the last two Bundesliga games against Gladbach and at Union Berlin. In total, however, the Munich team, including the Super Cup, Cup and Champions League, has remained undefeated in the first eight games of the season. Therefore, we can save ourselves the trouble of checking the odds on an away win in the match between Bayern and VfB Stuttgart.

During the week, the FCB showed a mature performance in the top flight. The German record champions still had several scores to settle with Inter Milan. After 25 minutes it was the very strong Leroy Sane who put his colours 1:0 in the lead. After the changeover, Bayern increased the lead to 2:0 after an own goal by the Italians and played this advantage home in a reasonably relaxed manner.

Due to the match on Wednesday and the second game in the top flight next week against Barcelona, there should definitely be a load management at FC Bayern. Joshua Kimmich was slightly injured. Should it not be enough, Marcel Sabitzer and Leon Goretzka will probably form the double six. Only Bouna Sarr will not be able to be in the squad due to injury.

Predicted Bayern line-up:
Neuer – Pavard, de Ligt, Hernandez, Davies – Kimmich, Goretzka – Müller, Musiala, Gnabry – Mane – Coach: Nagelsmann

VfB Stuttgart – Statistics & current form

The Swabians have had their fair share of bad starts to a Bundesliga season. For the sixth time already, VfB Stuttgart are without a win of their own after five matchdays. However, one should not see the whole thing too dramatically, because after all, there has only been one defeat this season.

Still without a victory in the Bundesliga

This means that Pellegrino Matarazzo’s team is the draw king of the Bundesliga. That means that the Swabians have basically always kept up quite well, but draws are too few to ultimately achieve class preservation. Ahead of the Bayern Munich vs. VfB Stuttgart match, we make the prediction that it could be very tight for the Swabians this season.

Last weekend, VfB Stuttgart only managed a 1-1 draw in their own arena against promoted Schalke. VfB took a 1-0 lead after just 18 minutes with a goal from Chris Führich. Schalke, however, responded immediately and scored the final goal. All in all, the visitors from Gelsenkirchen were closer to the winning goal and the Swabians could not have complained about a defeat.

Josha Vagnoman was also sent off after 67 minutes with a traffic light card and will be missing in Munich, as will Luca Pfeiffer. Silas could take over his duties on the right wing. Otherwise, the Swabians will probably play a more defensive line-up at the Allianz Arena. With Tanguy Coulibaly, Nikolas Nartey and Laurin Ulrich, three injured players are also missing.

Predicted line-up of VfB Stuttgart:
Müller – Mavropanos, Anton, Ito – Silas, Endo, Karazor, Sosa – Führich – Guirassy, Tiago Tomas – Coach: Matarazzo

Last matches played by VfB Stuttgart:

03/09/2022 – VfB Stuttgart 1 – 1 Schalke 04

20/08/2022 – VfB Stuttgart 0 – 1 SC Freiburg

Bayern – VfB Stuttgart Direct comparison / H2H-balance

Bayern vs Stuttgart, this is no less than the south-west classic of the Bundesliga. In total, the two teams have faced each other in 156 direct duels. Of course, the Munich team is more than clearly ahead in the direct comparison. After victories, the score is 91:37 in favour of the FCB. A further 28 encounters ended in a draw.

Last season, Bayern flexed their muscles in Stuttgart and tore VfB apart by every trick in the book in a 5-0 away win. The second leg can only be judged badly. Bayern were already champions and that is probably the reason why there was a 2:2 draw at the Allianz Arena on the 33rd matchday. Thus, the Swabians have been waiting for a win against FC Bayern for six games.

Bayern – VfB Stuttgart Tip

When Bayern have to take to the pitch for national duties, the odds on FCB to win are usually very low. Therefore, it is not quite easy to find the right odds on the Munich team. There is no question that Julian Nagelsmann’s team will get the three points on Saturday.

Many goals should actually always be scored when Bayern play. Bets on more than 3.5 or even 4.5 goals are certainly justified. You can’t rule out handicaps either.

Interesting odds are definitely offered on a Bayern home win without conceding a goal. If everything goes normally, Manuel Neuer should keep his box clean. If you can keep a clean sheet in Milan in the top flight, you should be able to do the same at home against the Swabians. That is why we have decided to play the betting odds on a win to nil between Bayern and VfB Stuttgart.
