FCB still without conceding a goal at Camp Nou?

Second-placed Barcelona take on promoted Almeria on matchday 13 in La Liga. The visitors have won two of their last three league games, making it half of their four wins so far this season.

However, the success must be put into perspective as they have only managed to do so against Celta Vigo and Girona – two teams who are both in stubborn form crises and are placed just above the relegation zone.

For the match at Camp Nou between Barcelona and Almeria, the tip is aiming for a home win to nil.

FC Barcelona – Statistics & current form

The FCB said goodbye to the Champions League this week. They recorded a 4-2 win in their final group game at Pilsen, which means the hosts will only spend the winter in the Europa League as group third.

The painful elimination from the top flight and the associated lack of warm money from the competition was already clear last week. In the league, however, Barcelona can be largely satisfied with their performance so far this season.

In three league games, FCB have always won by nil

Although they recently lost the “Clasico” against Real Madrid, coach Xavi’s team quickly put the defeat against the champions and arch-rivals behind them. Subsequently, three wins were recorded and always a clean sheet as a topping.

Barca can also rely on the home bonus in the upcoming match: The hosts have yet to lose any of their six home matches and have only failed to win one.

After six home matches, the hosts have yet to concede a goal

Furthermore, the defence at the Camp Nou is particularly solid, as they have yet to concede a single goal! In addition, Robert Lewandowski is reliable in attack. The ex-Bajuware is the leading scorer in La Liga with 13 goals.

In view of this, the odds on at least two personal goal celebrations by the Pole in the duel between Barcelona and Almeria are also worth considering.

Lewy” has scored at least once in only three of his twelve league games for the Blaugrana so far, and the striker has even scored a brace four times. He will also be rested against Almeria, as he was given a breather in the Champions League this week.

Home win with at least three goals difference?

Given the home side’s clear favourites, bets on a home win with at least a three-goal difference are also recommended.

It is also to be expected that the Catalans are already in front at the break. All five home victories have gone this way!

Predicted line-up of FC Barcelona:
ter Stegen – Kounde – Garcia – Alba – Balde – de Jong – Busquets – Pedri – Fati – Lewandowski – Dembele

Almeria – Statistics & current form

The champions of the Spanish lower house have stabilised recently from a results point of view, as mentioned, but they still do not occupy more than 13th place. This is due to the high number of seven defeats already – Celta Vigo alone also has as many defeats after only twelve rounds of matches.

Another shortcoming is the persistent weakness away from home. Only one of six away games has not been lost, and “La Union” has not managed more than a point from a draw at Elche in the first game of the season. With this extremely meagre record, the “Rojiblancos” only occupy last place in the away rankings in the country’s top division.

Almeria score sparingly away from home

Almeria’s attack has been particularly harmless, scoring just three goals away from home and failing to score in half of their six away games.

The problems in attack can easily be explained by the departure of Umar Sadiq after the third matchday. This saw the departure of Almeria’s top scorer last season.

Hopes are now pinned on El Bilal Toure, who was signed as a replacement from Reims in the French Ligue 1. The youngster has also introduced himself well with three goals in seven league games, but he can’t fix it on his own either, which is why the visitors’ attack has to be described as below average by La Liga standards in terms of quality.

Predicted line-up of Almeria:
Martinez – Ely – Babic – Kaiky – Eguaras – Costa – Pozo – Akieme Rodriguez – Robertone – El Bilal Toure – Ramazani

Last matches played by Almeria:

29/10/2022 – Almeria 3 – 1 Celta Vigo

23/10/2022 – Villarreal FC 2 – 1 Almeria

20/10/2022 – Almeria 3 – 2 Girona

17/10/2022 – Real Betis 3 – 1 Almeria

08/10/2022 – Almeria 3 – 1 Rayo Vallecano

FC Barcelona – Almeria Direct comparison / H2H balance

The last time the teams faced each other was in April 2015. At that time Barcelona won clearly with 4:0 on their own ground. Thanks to the success, the hosts have eight straight wins in this pairing in league and Copa del Rey play.

Furthermore, they are unbeaten against Almeria (13-3-0) in the last 33 years!

FC Barcelona – Almeria tip

The home side have won three times in a row in league play after the defeat to Real Madrid and have always done so by nil. Moreover, the best defence in the Spanish top flight is particularly secure in home games.

FCB have played six times at home this season and have always recorded a clean sheet! For the match between Barcelona and Almeria, the prediction is therefore a home win to nil.

In addition to the impressive defensive strength of the hosts, the condition of the guests speaks for this prediction. After the departure of top-goal-getter Umar Sadiq, the attack shows considerably less quality and the recent victories were only recorded against teams with poor form.

On top of that, the visitors have the weakest away record in the league and have already lost three of their six matches away from home without scoring a goal. The prediction is supported by the statistics of the pairing: Almeria have not lost by zero in two of their last eight away games at the Camp Nou.
