Sulemana also scores for Juric’s team: everything is decided in 8 minutes, from the 30th to the 38th minute of the first half

The restart Atalanta needed, a terrible setback for Torino. La Dea beat the Granata 3-0, closing the game with three goals in eight minutes after the half-hour mark of the first half, celebrating Krstovic’s first goal (double) and Sulemana’s. Torino failed to build on their victory in Rome and left the field to boos. In the second half, Duvan Zapata, who came on midway through the second half, missed a penalty. Ademola Lookman played for five minutes, brought on by Juric at the end of the game.

Marco Baroni confirmed the three-man defense seen in Rome, with Ismajli alongside Coco and Maripan, and in midfield he gave Ivan Ilic a chance in place of Casadei. The other change was the first start for Zakaria Aboukhlal, whom the coach had “warmed up” on Saturday at a press conference (“He’ll soon get a chance from the first minute”) and who replaced Cyril Ngonge in the attacking midfield alongside Nikola Vlasic. Atalanta’s Ivan Juric has to do without Giorgio Scalvini (right adductor injury) and Charles De Ketelaere (left iliopsoas injury): the three-man defense features Kossounou, Hien, and Djimsiti, with Kamaldeen Sulemana and Lazar Samardzic playing in the attacking midfield behind Krstovic, while Zappacosta starts on the right side of midfield in place of former Granata player Bellanova. De Roon celebrates his 400th appearance for Atalanta.
First half—Toro started aggressively, while Atalanta was sly and relied on passing. Dea was unlucky with injuries: in the 9th minute, Zalewski remained on the ground after a collision with Coco and was replaced by former Bellanova, and in the 27th minute, Hien was injured and replaced by Ahanor. In the 12th minute, Simeone controlled a clearance from Israel well and then opened up the field for Vlasic, whose right-footed cross went wide of the far post. Atalanta’s play improved, even though Torino looked strong and didn’t allow any space. In the 29th minute, Torino built from the back and managed to launch Maripan into space, who reached the edge of the box but lost his footing when he had to pass to Aboukhlal. Two minutes later, Dea took the lead: Torino lost the ball on the left side, Samardzic reached the byline, drawing too many defenders, and passed to Krstovic, who was all alone in the center and beat Israel with his first goal in Nerazzurri colors. Toro lost their way, and in the 35th minute, Maripan mistimed his challenge on Samardzic and opened up the attacking third: a one-two with Bellanova, a left-footed shot at the post, Zappacosta controlled the rebound, and Sulemana scored. Three minutes later, it was 0-3: Sulemana sprinted down the left, crossed to the far post, and Krstovic scored his second. Toro is stunned, with players missing even basic passes. The teams go into halftime to the boos of the Granata fans.

Second half—  Baroni starts with three changes: Tameze for Maripan, Casadei for Ilic, and Adams for Aboukhlal. He switches to two strikers in the hope of having more impact in attack, while the defense remains at three. In the 3rd minute, Simeone tries from outside the area, but Carnesecchi has no problems. The Argentine striker’s shot in the 19th minute is more dangerous, but his long-range effort is just over the bar. Atalanta are in control, while Torino are looking for space but struggling to find it. In the 22nd minute, Simeone tries again, this time with a run through the middle, but Carnesecchi saves. Israel does the same a minute later, saving a long-range shot from Sulemana. Baroni played the Zapata card, bringing him on in place of Simeone. Duvan immediately tried his luck in the 25th minute with a right-footed shot at the near post that forced Carnesecchi into a corner. Immediately afterwards, there was contact between Kossounou and Coco in the Atalanta area. Referee Colombo was called over by VAR and, after reviewing the action, awarded a penalty. Zapata steps up to take the penalty, and Carnesecchi saves the Colombian’s shot, just a few days after saving Barcola’s against Paris Saint-Germain. In the 32nd minute, Atalanta has space on the left, and on Sulemana’s cross, Pasalic’s volley goes just over the crossbar. Baroni also plays the Anjorin card, replacing Vlasic. For Atalanta, Juric decided to give Ademola Lookman five minutes on the pitch after the summer controversy surrounding his rumored transfer to Inter. Maldini and Musah also came on. Nothing else happened in the final minutes.
