Will the Knights’ streak continue in Vancouver?

The Golden Knights’ northern journey continues apace and by now they have arrived in Vancouver. After two wins in Seattle, they now face the Canadians twice, giving them two more good chances to score in the battle for the playoff spots.

We had recently predicted six wins in a row for Vegas and they are well on their way to confirming us. Of course, this is not only due to the easy remaining schedule, but also to their continuously rising form curve.

They made short work of the Kraken twice, winning by a three-goal difference. The Canucks should not be a big problem for the 2018 finalists either, as the Canadians have lost seven of their last ten games.

In this respect, our forecast for Vancouver vs. Vegas is a fifth success in a row for the Knights. We also strongly expect Vegas to reach the postseason. Bets on this are therefore also clearly recommended at this point in time.

Vancouver Canucks – Statistics & Current Form

The Canucks have had their entire season spoiled for a moment in the last week. Three losses in six days was just too much to keep up with in the tight Western Conference playoff race. Especially when the competition like the Knights are winning non-stop.

So Vancouver’s gap to Vegas is now already seven points. A tiny spark of hope may still be glowing for the Canucks, but they would need two wins in a row against the Knights – almost unthinkable given their current form.

Young team still not cool enough

The last time Vancouver was in the programme, we wrote about their strong young core, as none of their key players are older than 29, most of them even in their early 20’s. This is of course a flaw for the future, but currently this lack of experience is noticeable.

Against Championship experienced teams like the Blues on Thursday, for example. They had more shots in the end but lost 3:4, just like they did against the Sabres before

Lack of efficiency and slight mistakes

In the end, it doesn’t help them when they rank among the top 15 teams in the league with 32.1 shots per game. 2.80 goals scored per game are only enough for 22nd place in this statistic. The lack of efficiency is quite obvious from these stats.

Now, against an in-form Vegas team, this is likely to break their neck again. We don’t expect more than two goals from the Canadians, which is why a bet on Vegas is our clear betting option No.1 for Canucks vs. Knights.

Vegas Golden Knights – Statistics & current form

Vegas are currently the team of the moment and many experts had long wondered before when they would finally start their run. It has now come just in time for the playoffs, and with such form, even against the top teams from Colorado or Calgary, something is possible.

First, however, they have to continue their run against the Canucks, which they should be able to do. Offensively, they score 0.34 goals more per game and if we only take their last four games, they score 4.75 goals per game.

Also Vegas defense back to old strength

But to win the decisive games, you need a strong defence above all. Here, too, the Knights have been convincing in the last four games, allowing an average of only 1.75 goals against. This is where the discrepancy between the current form curves and the Canucks becomes most visible.

The Canucks have conceded 3.00 goals per game in their last four games. Although this matchup has historically been high-scoring, we expect Sunday to be a low-scoring game as well.

In addition, Vegas should win the affair, which makes the odds on Vegas a clear-cut case in Canucks vs Golden Knights. Even a -1 handicap would still be worth considering in this duel.

Vancouver Canucks – Vegas Golden Knights Direct Comparison / H2H-Balance

There have only been eleven such duels in the NHL – and Vegas has been the winner on nine of those occasions. That speaks for a clear superiority, which was also evident this season. The first duel in November went clearly to the men from the gambler’s paradise with 7:4.

Especially the last encounters between these two were also quite high-scoring. 9.25 was the average in the last four duels. A number that will most likely not be reached on Sunday.

For Sunday, we expect under 6.5 total goals. Our No.1 betting option for Vancouver against Vegas, however, is a tip on the away team. The Knights have simply shown in recent days that they are currently very difficult to beat.

Vancouver Canucks – Vegas Golden Knights Tip

Everything on gold-black-white – to put it in the Golden Knights’ colours. In this matchup we really have no doubt that there can only be one winner in the end and that comes from the city of casinos.

For Vancouver vs. Vegas, the odds are still surprisingly high on an easy win for the away team, which is why we don’t even need a handicap. Still, even a slight handicap of up to -1.5 would be a calculable risk in this case.

Alternatively, bets on individual third period wins by the Knights are also recommended. For example, the Golden Knights have won the second period in three of their last four games.
