Will LeBron James stay undefeated?

All-Star Time in Utah! In the duel of the best players of the current season in the NBA, Team LeBron and Team Giannis face each other in Salt Lake City. The mode of the 2023 All-Star Game once again provides for the first three quarters to be scored individually.

The points are then added up and 24 points are added to the score of the leading team up to that point. The team that reaches this score first will be crowned the new winner.

One new feature this year, however, is that teams are not assembled until just before the tip-off in Utah.

While some stars like the best three-point shooter in the history of the league and last year’s MVP of the game Stephen Curry or the two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant will be missing due to injuries, the density of exceptional players remains high.

However, it remains to be seen whether it will be a spectacle like 1993, the last time the game was played in Utah and the “East” with legends like Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal in its ranks won narrowly.

Team LeBron – statistics & current form

Team leader LeBron James recently set a new NBA scoring record, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s best for nearly 40 years. He is also participating in an All-Star Game for the 19th time!

During the nomination process, LBJ also received the most votes, giving him the first draft pick over opposing captain Giannis Antetokounmpo in the draft held just before the Game.

The voting was again made up of 50 percent fan votes and 25 percent each by media and NBA players. Team LeBron’s head coach is Michael Malone, who is in charge of Denver’s league play.

Team Giannis – Statistics & current form

The “Greek Freak” is still in doubt himself. Due to an injury from the last game against the Chicago Bulls, in which he had to leave the court prematurely after only nine minutes of play, his appearance is not yet certain.

Although initial examinations revealed no serious injury, it is still unclear whether it will be enough for his seventh participation in an All-Star Game.

In addition, his teams’ record against LeBron James’ teams is negative: Twice this pairing has taken place so far and always the Giannis team was defeated.

Team LeBron – Team Giannis Tip

For the 2023 NBA All-Star Game between Team LeBron and Team Giannis, the prediction includes another success for LBJ’s squad.

The veteran has clearly the most All-Star experience in the starting line-up and has proven in the past that he always has a very good hand in putting together his squad.

On top, he will once again open the draft and is thus in a slightly better position compared to the opposing captain, who can always make his selections only following James’ picks in alternating form.

Further, against Giannis’ teams, his teams have already won twice and since the introduction of this format in 2018, LBJ has a snow-white record of five victories!

In the process, he also beat Team Durant twice and “Chef’s” Team Stephen on debut. In addition, the appearance of opposing captain Giannis Antetokounmpo is in serious jeopardy due to injury.

Should the forward be able to play, however, there is at least no indication that the two-time MVP from Greece, who was still honoured as the best player at the penultimate edition, will get too much playing time.
