PSG can’t be stopped: Will the Final Four be a winner?

The curtain is raised on the Final Four in Cologne! PSG Handball, who eliminated THW Kiel, the German record champions, from the competition in the previous round, will be right in the thick of things. PSG will now meet Kielce in the semi-finals. According to the bookmakers, there is no clear favourite in this match.

In the last six encounters, the H2h is at least balanced. However, if recent form is anything to go by, PSG Handball have the edge. The French side have won their last ten competitive matches. Our PSG Handball vs. Kielce tip is therefore also aimed at the French representative.

In contrast, Kielce remained winless in two of their last four competitive matches and also missed out on winning the Polish Cup. On the other hand, the “Iskra” at least won the league title and thus extended their status as record champions – 20 league titles in total.

PSG, on the other hand, won the championship in France and thus once again reduced the gap to record champions Montpellier. In their current form, the French can also be expected to score a major coup on the international stage.

PSG Handball – Statistics & current form

Paris SG are in the Final Four of the EHF Champions League for the fifth time. For the first time since 2017, there are also realistic chances to win the title. Prior to the final tournament in Cologne, PSG Handball gained a lot of self-confidence and won each of their last ten competitive matches. With their impressive winning streak, PSG were also crowned champions of the French top flight.

Head coach Raul Gonzalez’s team prevailed in a duel with Montpellier. A two-point lead was ultimately enough to win the league championship for the tenth time in the club’s history. Internationally, there is now the chance to win the next title, which is also supported by PSG Handball’s CL form.

This season, PSG Handball has won 14 out of a total of 16 games in the top flight. Two of these 14 victories came in the quarter-finals against THW Kiel. PSG Handball beat the German record champions by a total score of 63:56 after the first and second legs.

Does PSG flex their muscles on the offensive?

One of the decisive factors in the French champions’ success is undoubtedly their offence. The Zebras from Kiel already felt the offensive power of PSG Handball and conceded at least 30 goals in each of their two encounters with the French side. Nevertheless, PSG face a difficult hurdle against Kielce’s strong defence.

PSG Handball have already met a Polish club twice in this year’s Champions League. Against Wisla Plock, Kielce’s most recent opponent, the French champions prevailed with 37:33 in the first round of the group stage. PSG even won the second-round match 32:26 at home to Wisla Plock.

In the Champions League so far, PSG had an efficiency of 72.6% and set a record with a total of 555 converted goals in 765 attempted throws. The top scorer was Kamil Syprzak, who is also currently the third-best scorer in the top flight with 124 goals to his name.

Kielce – Statistics & current form

Kielce missed the season double on the national stage. In the Polish Superliga, Kielce beat Wisla Plock 27:24 in a showdown to move past their arch-rivals to the top of the table. Just two weeks after the league championship, Kielce lost out to Wisla Plock in the cup final, losing 25:30.

Since then Kielce had a game-free period and could therefore prepare for the final tournament in the EHF Champions League. The Polish record champion is already represented in the Final Four for the sixth time. In 2016, Vive Kielce even won the top division – for the first time ever, mind you. Last year, however, the “Iskra” only finished as runners-up.

Kielce lost to Barcelona in the final of the EHF Champions League. Before that, the Polish top club had eliminated Montpellier and Veszprem from the competition in the knockout phase and thus gained a lot of self-confidence. The decision against Barcelona even came down to the seven-match penalty shoot-out, which Kielce lost 3:5 to the Catalans.

Will Kielce reach the final again?
The chance for revenge may come this year. For this, Kielce must not only prevail against PSG Handball, but at the same time also hope for Barcelona to reach the final. Those betting on the Polish team to win at least the semi-final can pick up odds of 2.10 on PSG Handball vs Kielce.

The performance of Moryto will also be decisive. The Kielce winger is the big star in the team and has already scored 92 goals in 16 appearances this season. In the process, Moryto has had an impressive efficiency of 82.1%. If the Polish international takes the momentum with him, the goal-scorer of the “Iskra” can be expected to score a few goals against PSG as well.

With Karalek, Oleijniczak and Karacic, three key players are still question marks. Especially Karalek, who was voted “MVP” at last year’s Final Four, is of great importance for the Polish record champions.

PSG Handball – Kielce Direct comparison / H2H-balance

This is the twelfth time the two clubs have met on the international stage. The H2h is currently led by PSG. The French have won seven out of 11 encounters against Kielce. The “Iskra”, on the other hand, won four times against PSG Handball. The last time the two clubs met was in the 2021/22 season.

In the first round of the group stage, KS Kielce beat PSG Handball 38:33. PSG won the second-round match in front of their home crowd with 32:27, so a high-scoring encounter is likely this time as well.

PSG Handball – Kielce Tip

PSG Handball is just one step away from reaching the final for the first time since 2017. Kielce is an unpleasant hurdle to overcome. The French side’s opponents on Saturday were already in last year’s final and came within a whisker of winning the title against Barcelona. Nevertheless, PSG does not have to hide against the “Iskra”.

PSG have won their last ten competitive matches, including the French championship. In the quarter-finals, the French champions beat THW Kiel and flexed their offensive muscles. It is quite possible that the French will also prevail against Kielce.

We expect a hard-fought encounter, but PSG Handball should hold their own against last year’s finalists Kielce. In their current form, we also trust the Parisians to clinch the title coup. For our PSG Handball vs. Kielce tip on the French top club, we use five units.
