Will the Eagles continue their winning streak?

Wilson or not Wilson – that is the question here with the New York Jets. Because even though the Jets are currently at 2-3 wins, the performance of their quarterback continues to be inadequate. So also on Sunday with our Jets vs. Eagles tip?

In any case, we’re assuming that it won’t be Wilson who brings down the Eagles now after their 4-0 start. They are too strong on both sides of the field for that and should be able to take on the good Jets defense as well.

Then there’s still the question of how clear Philly will make it this time around, as they’ve had their fair share of problems so far putting a game away and making it clearer. Three of their five wins have come within one score.

For New York vs. Philadelphia, though, our prediction is that the Eagles won’t make it too close. An 8-15 point lead seems realistic and with their power offense, they should put up at least 25 points again against the Jets.

Kickoff for this matchup is Sunday night at 10:25pm in New York. The game can be watched live on DAZN.

New York Jets – statistics & current form

The Jets continue to be in no man’s land, but they are not doing anything about it either. It seems like the franchise has gone into shock after the Rodgers injury. If a trade for a new quarterback doesn’t happen in the next week or two, it will be akin to giving up on this season.

It’s clear to all the experts that with Wilson, it will once again be a 7-10 or 8-9 season at best and the playoffs will remain a distant memory. But are they willing to give away even more assets now to get a 10-12 game solution?

Zach Wilson continues as usual

There was still a very small hope that Zach Wilson will make a leap forward after all. But he didn’t. Even this season, four touchdowns are already offset by five interceptions and their defense was responsible for the two wins.

This is how it will look on Sunday against Philly. If everything goes normal, they will score their 25-35 points and then it will be up to the Jets offense to keep the game close. However, we see this option with a lot of question marks . More likely than a nailbiter here is certainly a blowout win by Philly.

Dalvin Cook not a factor

Of course, it doesn’t help that running back Dalvin Cook, a special signing from Minnesota, is far from a positive aspect of this offense. He has 97 yards to date and just 2.7 yards per run.

That’s far too little and so the complete offensive load rests on the shoulders of Breece Hall. Again on Sunday – against the best rushing defense in the NFL (61.2 yards conceded per game).

Not the best conditions for the Jets, which is why a bet on the Eagles is clearly favored in New York vs. Philly. Whether as a handicap bet or as a combo bet with over points – both options are good to play.

Key Players:

  • QB: Zach Wilson
  • RB: Breece Hall
  • WR: Garrett Wilson
  • TE: Tyler Conklin
  • K: Greg Zuerlein

Philadelphia Eagles – Statistics & current form

The Eagles continue to do Eagles things. Unlike the 49ers, however, they are winning their games in a rather low-key, unsexy fashion. Still, they are now at 4-0 wins and are one of only two teams still undefeated.

Two things are primarily responsible for that: their own running game (164.0 yards per game: No. 2 in the NFL) and their defense against the run (61.2 yards allowed per game: No. 1 in the NFL). So it’s no wonder that not too much happens in their games when the middle is so shut down.

Pass defense still with weaknesses

Where they still lack a bit so far is their defense against the pass. At 240.4, they are allowing the tenth most yards of any team here. Good thing for them that it’s against the Jets and Zach Wilson on Sunday. Because through the air, Philly is unlikely to beat them.

New York only scores 160.4 yards through the air per game, making this matchup excellent for the Eagles. Their one weakness meets the Jets’ big weakness – there’s not that much damage ahead.

High or low scoring?

When it comes to the question of total points, we therefore have to orient ourselves more towards the Eagles. Will they crack 30 points (as they have twice so far this season) or rather not? It’s hard to say. A 35:10 is just as possible here as a 23:13.

However, with both options we see that the set -7 would be exceeded as a handicap. That’s why for Jets vs Eagles odds on Philly -7 are our favored betting recommendation.

Key Players:

  • QB: Jalen Hurts
  • RB: D’Andre Swift
  • WR: A.J. Brown
  • TE: Dallas Goedert
  • K: Jake Elliott

New York Jets – Philadelphia Eagles Direct comparison / H2H record

Let’s get to one of the most compelling arguments that New York has little chance on Sunday: they are yet to win a single game against Philly in their entire franchise history. Twelve times this matchup has happened – twelve times the winner was Philadelphia.

Such a record is actually unique in the league. On the one hand, this should motivate the Jets, but on the other hand, it should also demoralize them before the game has even started.

We see few chances here for New York to break this streak, and so odds on Eagles -7 as well as Eagles/Eagles are definitely to be taken advantage of in New York vs. Philadelphia.

New York Jets – Philadelphia Eagles Tip

12-0 is the Eagles’ record against the Jets and it wouldn’t be a big surprise if that record went up by one more number up front. We simply lack the imagination to find a starting point for the Jets offense here.

Accordingly, for Jets vs Eagles, a bet on Philadelphia -7 is our bet of choice. However, other picks such as 2/2 or Philadelphia Over 25 points are also wide open as options here.

Another option is to bet on a rushing touchdown by Jalen Hurts. In the last four games he scored four of them – and that as a quarterback.
