Will the Bulls pull off another blowout?
The champions from Milwaukee and the Chicago Bulls contest Game 5 in the 2022 NBA Playoffs, and the Bucks can put the lid on the series with a win.
The victory in the last game gives them hope in this endeavour, as the six-time champions were clearly beaten by a difference of 24 points.
Milwaukee Bucks – statistics & current form
Head coach Mike Budenholzer’s team is currently without Khris Middleton, but this quite serious absence did not stop the champions from a clear victory against the Bulls as described above.
One positive factor was another strong performance by Bobby Portis with a double-double in points and rebounds. The centre will continue to be in the starting five for the time being, as long as Middleton is out of action.
In addition, Grayson Allen has been coming on strong lately: The bench player set a new personal scoring record for a playoff game with 27 points in the last match-up.
Especially his three-pointers are currently sitting well: The shooting guard sank half a dozen in the course of the game!
After scoring only three points in the first two games of the series, Allen has now recorded at least 22 points in the last two games, which is why his form curve has unquestionably risen steeply.
Chicago Bulls – Statistics & current form
Chicago can’t find a recipe for the Bucks’ strong defence so far. The visitors are averaging only 94 points in the series against the men around the “Greek Freak”.
One of their shortcomings are the rebounds. While the home side has 52 boards per game, the highest of any team in the current postseason, the visitors only have 45.8.
In addition, the top players on the offensive end, such as this year’s All-Stars DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, have fallen short of their potential too often in the series.
Milwaukee Bucks – Chicago Bulls Tip
For the clash between the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls in Game 5, the tip aims for a home win by at least nine points.
The past two wins for the home side have both been very emphatic, after the first two games of the series were even closer.
Now Bucks coach Budenholzer seems to have found an increasingly suitable defensive match plan against the Bulls, as the gap in the past two victories was at least 24 points and averaged 27 points.
The visitors’ offence in particular, as described, will not be in its usual form against the champions. The prediction is also supported by the Bulls’ chronic away weakness in the “Brew City”.
