Can Houston stop the losing streak against the Pels?

The bottom team in the West from Houston hosts the New Orleans Pelicans next night. The visitors are eleventh in the Western Conference and are in a less than consistent form. Only three wins from the last ten games clearly show this and represent an identical yield compared to the bottom of the table in the West.

Houston Rockets – Statistics & current form

The Texans also have the weakest home record in the West, but recently shocked the top team from Boston in front of their own crowd. Against the Celtics, the basketballers from the “Lone Star State” recorded a 111-109 victory!

The lights are therefore not completely out in Houston despite the season already being over for the Rockets. However, the Pels are not one of the favourite opponents of head coach Stephen Silas’ team: the Rockets have lost five of their last five meetings in this pairing!

New Orleans Pelicans – Statistics & current form

The Pels have to seriously tremble about their participation in the postseason. As eleventh, it would currently not be possible via the diversions of the play-in tournament in the West. For that, the guests would have to climb at least one rank.

Top forward Zion Williamson will not be able to play. This is the most important reason for the current lack of success in New Orleans. Another shortcoming is NOLA’s weakness away from home: The hoopsters from the “Big Easy” have won only eleven of their 33 away games so far and have the fourth weakest away record in the West.

Houston Rockets – New Orleans Pelicans Tip

For the clash between the Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans on 3/18/2023, the betting and odds on more than 14.5 points by Jabari Smith Jr. are worth a recommendation. The small forward has been in a rising form on the side of the home side lately.

For five games Smith Jr. exceeded the selected limit and on average he even delivered 21.4 points within this flashback. The rookie is clearly one of the pillars of the Houston rebuild and will now also benefit from the fact that the visitors are still without their best forward Zion Williamson.
