Who will strike back on Monday night?

Monday night is revenge night – that goes for both teams in our Lions vs. Raiders tip in the NFL. Because both are coming off quite claps with 32 (Lions) and 18 (Raiders) points difference. Especially Detroit has a lot to make up for.

At least their defeat came against the contenders from Baltimore, while the Raiders’ loss was against Chicago. So Las Vegas is also one of the many, many inconsistent teams in the league this year.

The Lions, on the other hand, have always been very consistent – especially offensively – until the slip-up against the Ravens. Their 377.0 yards per game reflects that as well. That they allowed 503 yards against the Ravens, though, was unusual.

We now expect a bounce-back game from the Lions, which is why our prediction for Detroit vs. Las Vegas is also a success for head coach Dan Campbell’s men. Against the weaker Raiders defense, they should be able to play to their strengths much better again.

Kick-off of this NFC vs. AFC duel is Monday night at 01:15 in Detroit. The game can be watched live on DAZN.

Detroit Lions – statistics & current form

Was it really the Lions last weekend or was it FC Schalke 04 after all? No, it was of course the Lions, but with a performance that had nothing to do with those of the first match days. Almost nothing worked.

Again and again they played their way into the Ravens’ half, only to fail to complete the drive. They had six fourth downs, but only two of them were successful. Means: four turnovers after downs.

Defense with off-tag

Also, their defense had a real day to forget. 503 yards allowed, 23 first downs and already trailing 0-28 at halftime. There were few positives for Detroit on this game day. But there was one good thing about this game: it can only get better.

It should, because the Raiders are much weaker than Baltimore both offensively and defensively, averaging just 284.1 yards and 16 points with their offense. That’s third worst among all teams in terms of points.

Lions the big favorites

The Lions should reach that number on Monday even blindfolded, making a win very likely. However, they enter the game with a -8.5 handicap, so handicap betting is difficult.

However, they are averaging 31.0 points per game at home this season. This makes a bet on Lions + Over 44 total points for Detroit vs Las Vegas a bet that is definitely playable for us.

Key Players:

  • QB: Jared Goff
  • RB: David Montgomery
  • WR: Amon-Ra St. Brown
  • TE: Sam LaPorta
  • K: Riley Patterson

Las Vegas Raiders – stats & recent form

The Raiders just aren’t taking any steps forward. And if they do, then follow in the next game immediately two back. So happened on Sunday against the actually weaker rated Bears.

12:30 was the final score, even though the Bears had to start with Tyson Bagent at quarterback. Never heard that before? That was probably the case for most. But it was enough for a clear win against the Raiders, which already says enough about their performance

Defense against the run underground

173 Rushing Yards they allowed against the Raiders – and again, it was only their third string running back D’Onta Foreman who was on the field. Justin Fields, who is actually Chicago’s most dangerous rusher, was also absent.

Sure, the Raiders themselves had to play with a backup quarterback (Garoppolo should be fit for Monday), but it can’t be that a self-proclaimed playoff contender then gets slaughtered by one of the worst teams in the league.

Their defense against the run has been a problem all season, though, allowing an average of 129.0 yards, the NFL’s ninth-worst.

Own running game also weak

Let’s stay with the running game, but this time the Raiders’ own. That, too, has been completely non-threatening this season. Statistically, Las Vegas actually has the worst running game in the entire league (just 68.6 yards per game) – and that’s despite having a Josh Jacobs.

Do we see them scoring more than those 12 points against Detroit? Yes. Will they have a chance to win? No. And so for Lions vs Raiders, the odds on Detroit as a 1/1 pick or as Lions + Over 44 total points are worth a recommendation.

Key Players:

  • QB: Jimmy Garoppolo
  • RB: Josh Jacobs
  • WR: Davante Adams
  • TE: Austin Hooper
  • K: Daniel Carlson

Detroit Lions – Las Vegas Raiders head-to-head comparison / H2H record

These two teams meet very rarely indeed. The last time they met, the quarterbacks were Matthew Stafford and Derek Carr. The duel then went with 31:24 to Las Vegas, but that has no significance for Monday.

Rather, we look at the current form and that is much more stable despite the setback against Baltimore with the Lions. Their 5-2 record is also clearly better than the Raiders’ 3-4 record, which objectively should be even worse.

Thus, for Detroit vs. Vegas, the odds on the Lions and also on the Lions players are a good betting option. Running back Montgomery would be worth highlighting here, but German-born wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is always worth a TD tip as well.

Detroit Lions – Las Vegas Raiders Tip

Will the Lions strike back or was the low blow against the Ravens an impact win? We clearly reckon with the first option, although of course it plays into the fact that they are now up against the Raiders – one of the most in-form teams in the league.

The question then becomes, do we trust them to score enough points to get to 44+ in this game? We do and that makes a bet on Detroit + Over 44 total points our bet of choice for Lions vs. Raiders.

We have already briefly discussed the alternative player bets on Montgomery and St.Brown. St. Brown has only three touchdowns this season, but he was also injured for some time. Recently he had a strong rise in form and two 100 yards games in a row – a TD will follow soon again.
