Next defeat for the Hornets?

The Charlotte Hornets are making their third attempt this season to win once against Indiana. So far, they have failed to do so in their matchups with the Pacers last November and January. Both teams are now also running with considerable personnel concerns.

Charlotte Hornets – Statistics & current form

The Hornets have been without their powerful guard LaMelo Ball for several weeks and have been weakened as a result. Meanwhile, it is also clear that it will not be enough for the playoffs this season.

The recent dry spell with four defeats in a row has also destroyed the last hope of a possible recovery of Charlotte. In terms of personnel, the camp has also deteriorated again recently.

The reason is the injury to Mark Williams, which has deprived the North Carolina franchise of a centre who has been in good form of late. Against the Pacers, the youngster will now also miss out.

Indiana Pacers – Statistics & current form

The Pacers also have to fear for their participation in the playoffs. Currently, the visitors are in twelfth place in the East and would therefore not be qualified for the play-in tournament in the Eastern Conference.

Another parallel to the opponent is the tight personnel situation within the squad of head coach Rick Carlisle. However, the Pacers are defying the personnel difficulties quite successfully, at least in part.

One example of resilience was the win at the home-strong Bucks on the penultimate matchday. In contrast, the dress rehearsal for the game against Charlotte was clearly lost again in front of their own fans with 121:141 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Charlotte Hornets – Indiana Pacers Tip

For the clash between the Charlotte Hornets and Indiana Pacers on 21/03/2023, the prediction and odds on an away win seem promising. Both teams will be shorthanded, but the motivation of the visitors should be higher as they still have something at stake.

In contrast, the fair has been read with regard to the ambitions of the home side in the direction of the post-season. The last four defeats in a row already point in the direction of a less committed home team. In addition, players like point guard Andrew Nembhard and forward Aaron Nesmith successfully filled in for the injured regulars in Indiana.

Both players mentioned delivered at least 22 points in the past two games. With this, they clearly exceeded their seasonal values of around nine and ten points per game respectively.
