No home win for the champions against Betis again?
On the final matchday in the Spanish top flight, new champions Real Madrid welcome this season’s cup winners Betis Sevilla. The duel is thus an early Super Cup in La Liga. For both teams, from a sporting point of view, nothing more is at stake.
The home side will also already be in the Champions League in their minds, with the final at the Stade de France in Paris against Liverpool in just over a week’s time.
For the upcoming league match between Real Madrid and Betis Sevilla, the forecast includes the double chance in favour of the visitors.
Real Madrid – Statistics & current form
The capitals already clinched the 35th title in the club’s history at the end of April. One reason for the commanding success, which is currently a dozen points ahead, was the strong attack of coach Carlo Ancelotti’s eleven.
No team in La Liga scores more goals and no player surpasses Karim Benzema’s haul. With 27 goals, the goal-scoring crown will no longer be out of his reach. Moreover, the number represents his best in the course of his long career at Real.
The fact that he is now setting such a personal record again in his 13th season at Madrid at the age of 34 demands great respect without question! However, he will probably not play now because, as mentioned, the “Blancos” have the Champions League final coming up in a week’s time.
The Frenchman is also unstoppable in this competition this season: 15 goals in eleven games prove this verdict very impressively. Benzema was already absent on the last matchday against Cadiz and this measure by Ancelotti is now, of course, to be expected again.
Second suit currently allowed to play
Vinicius Junior, the third best goalscorer in the Spanish top flight, should also be missing again, as he was against Cadiz. Due to these personnel measures, the opportunity now arises for the second row in the offensive of the “Merengues” – for example for Mariano Diaz.
The attacker from the Dominican Republic recently made a rare starring appearance for the 13-time Champions League and previous competition winners and returned the favour with his first goal of the season.
With this in mind, betting on him to score again in the clash between Real Madrid and Betis Sevilla is also a good idea.
Predicted line-up of Real Madrid:
Lunin – Militao – Vallejo – Fernandez – Vazquez – Kroos – Casemiro – Valverde – Asensio – Diaz – Rodrygo

Betis Sevilla – Statistics & current form
Betis, in fifth place, can no longer overtake their arch-nemesis from their own city, who are placed directly in front of them in the table, as a tie on points could still be achieved, but then the direct comparison takes effect.
The Green-Whites have lost out in both comparisons this season. On the other hand, the Andalusian side could still be overtaken by Real Sociedad, but this scenario would only be something for statisticians, as both placings guarantee participation in the group stage of the next edition of the Europa League.
Sevilla shows sportsmanship
For last year’s sixth-placed team, as for the home side, the season is already over. However, they don’t come to the Bernabeu just for fun and the last few games have shown that the cup winners still want to win.
Coach Manuel Pellegrini’s team recently recorded victories against Valencia and Granada in league play. The Green-Whites also boast a prolific attack. Only three teams in La Liga score more goals than the 1935 champions.
The top scorer is Juanmi (16), who recently also recorded a brace in a 2-0 win over Granada. Borja Iglesias also deserves a positive mention in this context.
The veteran secured the draw after 90 minutes with his goal in the cup final against Valencia and, like Junami, has a double-digit goal tally for the “Verdiblancos” (10).
At least two goals from Betis?
Given the visitors’ attacking prowess and the fact that the home side are likely to be sparing regulars such as their number one keeper Thibaut Courtois, the odds on the “Béticos” scoring more than one goal in the clash between Real Madrid and Betis Sevilla are also worth considering.
Predicted line-up of Betis Sevilla:
Silva – Gonzalez – Moreno – Pezzella – Bellerin – Rodriguez – Carvalho – Fekir – Juanmi – Canales – Iglesias
Last matches played by Betis Sevilla:
La Liga
16/05/2022 – Real Betis 2 – 0 Granada
10/05/2022 – Valencia 0 – 3 Real Betis
08/05/2022 – Real Betis 1 – 2 FC Barcelona
03/05/2022 – Getafe 0 – 0 Real Betis
Copa del Rey
24/04/2022 – Real Betis (5)1 – 1(4) Valencia
Real Madrid – Betis Sevilla Direct comparison / H2H-balance
In the first leg, Real scored a 1-0 away win with a goal from Daniel Carvajal. The defender is not actually built for scoring goals: In his nine seasons for Madrid so far, it was only his fifth goal and, to date, his only one this season.
Thanks to the victory, the hosts are unbeaten in three duels with the “Heliopolitanos” (2-1-0). However, the home record from the recent past is not very pleasing for the Madrilenians.
None of the last four home games against Betis ended victoriously (0-2-2). The fact that no goal was scored in any of these matches is really bitter!
Real Madrid – Betis Sevilla tip
For the clash between Real Madrid and Betis Sevilla, betting on the double chance in favour of the visitors seems to be profitable. The “Vikingos” have long been champions and are already mentally at the final in the royal class, which follows in a week.
For this reason, quite a few stars such as Benzema in the attack or Courtois in goal will probably be spared once again.
The visitors are also in stable form and, as described, have cut a good figure at the Bernabeu in the recent past with four matches without defeat.
