Will City celebrate their seventh home win?

In the battle for the championship, the Skyblues have always had the longest breath in the last two seasons, and at the end of the season they stretched the trophy towards the sky.

Now there is a real competitor in the fight for the title again with Arsenal. They are currently two points behind the north Londoners.

With Fulham FC, we travel to a team from west London that has shown remarkable performances this season. Four games without defeat with two wins and two draws indicate strong form. The fact that they picked up three of their four Premier League wins against City at the Etihad Stadium is welcome in that regard. Nevertheless, the bookmakers have significantly lower betting odds on Manchester City vs. Fulham for a home win than for a success for the visitors.

Compared to their closest rivals Tottenham and Newcastle, a win would be extremely important. With one game less, the Skyblues are already three points ahead. It could therefore come down to a Premier League duel between Arsenal and City for the time being.

Manchester City – statistics & current form

Taking all competitions into account, Manchester City only have a longer winning streak against West Bromwich Albion (14) and Watford (15). Twelve games in a row are currently cumulative victories against the west Londoners in all competitions.

Goals guaranteed – but only for City

On the home side’s side, an impressive statistic has been generated in the past 13 games. In the last 13 matches, Pep Guardiola’s side have always scored at least two goals against the Cottagers. In addition, they have kept their own clean sheet five times in a row against Fulham. ADMIRALBET is offering interesting odds of 1.90 on the Skyblues to win the Manchester City vs Fulham match without conceding a goal.

City’s impressive home streak

Ten Premier League games in a row the Guardiola eleven have won at home, always scoring at least three goals – 43 in total. With another win like that, they could become the first team since Aston Villa in 1930 to string together such a streak in more than ten games.

It is against the promoted teams that Haaland and Co. find goal-scoring particularly easy this season. A 6:0 vs. Nottingham as well as a 4:0 vs. Bournemouth speak volumes. The record for the most home goals in a season against promoted teams is held by Arsenal with 15 goals in the 12/13 season.

Superstar Kevin De Bruyne is also extremely fond of playing against promoted teams. In his last 13 star appearances, he has been directly involved in 18 goals (seven goals, 11 assists). In 2022, his season-long tally of 29 goal appearances (13 goals, 16 assists) is behind only Harry Kane, who has 32 direct involvements. This season, the Belgian once again ranks first in chances created (40). Between Manchester City and Fulham, the betting odds are clearly going in the direction of a high-scoring game.

Only Erling Haaland is still a bit of a question mark. The Norwegian has been absent recently. Alvarez, who scored in the Champions League last time out, would step in once again.

Predicted line-up of Manchester City:
Ederson – Cancelo – Laporte – Akanji – Stones – Gündogan – Rodrigo – De Bruyne – Grealish – Haaland – Silva

Fulham statistics & current form

Place seven with 19 points from 13 games and a good cushion to the relegation places let the Cottagers look confidently at the upcoming winter break. Especially with regard to the opponents of the last games.

Before the World Cup in Qatar dominates football, Fulham have to play Manchester twice more. In the last home game they host Manchester United, before that they have to play the tough away game at Manchester City next weekend.

The last win at the Etihad Stadium dates back to 2009, and Fulham have only won two of their last 15 away games against reigning champions. However, the last one was just over a year ago when they beat Liverpool in March 2021.

Pereira vs De Bruyne

The Brazilian new signing, who they brought in from Flamengo before the season, is having an outstanding season. After De Bruyne, he creates the most goal chances in the league (20 in October alone) and is on the verge of his breakthrough in European football. The 26-year-old has played almost 60 games in over six years for Manchester United. For him, this means a special match against the arch-rivals of his youth club.

Another guarantee of success for the Cottagers is striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. Not only in League Two did he become a hero with over 40 goals. He also proved his scoring prowess in the top flight of English football with nine goals from twelve games.

Only Harry Kane and Erling Haaland are better. Against Everton, however, he set a negative record. Ten shots without a goal is a league high. When Manchester City host Fulham, the odds suggest another nil for the visitors.

Predicted Fulham line-up:
Leno – Cordova-Reid – Diop – Ream – Robinson – Reed – Palhinha – Kebano – Pereira – Willian – Mitrovic

Last matches played by Fulham:

29/10/2022 – Fulham 0 – 0 Everton

15/10/2022 – Fulham 2 – 2 Bournemouth

09/10/2022 – West Ham 3 – 1 Fulham

Manchester City – Fulham Direct comparison / H2H record

In a total of 28 duels between the two teams, Manchester City have won 15 matches. Nine others ended in draws and the remaining four went to Fulham. City scored a total of 61 goals, an average of more than two per game. Fulham still manage 31 goals. However, the Cottagers have failed to score in their last five encounters and have lost five straight by zero.

Manchester City – Fulham Tip

The Skyblues have managed to win all six of their home games this season. In the seventh, a three-pointer is again the declared goal in order to stay close to Arsenal in the fight for the championship. Moreover, they have lost only one of their last 20 home games. They are also the first team in history to score three or more goals in ten consecutive home games.

Fulham have won two of their last three away games, equalling their previous 17 away Premier League games. Their 19 points after 13 games is currently more than they had at the same time in the 18/19 (8) and 20/21 (9) seasons – even adding them together doesn’t come close to the current season’s total. Furthermore, the West Londoners are unbeaten in four games and are desperate to keep that streak going.

The best offence meets the fourth worst defence in the league. Manchester City vs. Fulham is a clear affair in favour of the hosts in all betting predictions. We also go along with this trend and bet 5 units on a win to nil by Manchester City.
