Nothing to get for the Swabians?

While VfB Stuttgart only managed to score one point out of a possible six in the Champions League group stage, Juventus Turin secured the full six points at the start. The Bianconeri thus occupy one of the coveted top eight places, which would directly qualify them for the round of 16. If you now bet on the home win of the Zebre against VfB Stuttgart, the Italian record champions would start the Champions League season with three wins for the first time since 2021/22.

The Swabians, on the other hand, have only managed three wins in their last 19 competitive games in the UEFA Champions League (six draws, ten defeats). Considering that the white-reds have only won one of 11 international competitive games against Italian clubs (four draws, six defeats), the trend for Juventus against VfB Stuttgart points to the Vecchia Signora’s next three points.

After all, it was not only internationally that the players from Piedmont did well, but also nationally. Juventus Turin was the only one of all 20 clubs to remain completely unbeaten on the first eight match days of the Serie A (four wins, four draws), but failed to score in three 0-0 draws. With the right defensive tactics, the Swabians could also hold out for a 0-0 or a 1-1, which is why we find the double chance 1X at under 3.5 goals to be the best value in the combined betting tip.

A coherent alternative, which also doesn’t rule out anything in the popular three-way market, is the bet that a maximum of two goals will be scored in this Italian-German duel.

Juventus – Statistics & current form

Juventus Turin have not only missed out on the Scudetto three times in a row at national level recently, but have also not made a mark internationally for quite some time. The last time the Zebre were among the top eight teams in the Champions League was in the 2018/19 season.

Last time, the Vecchia Signora even had to sit out a season completely. After the point deduction in Serie A, which only saw the Bianconeri finish seventh in 2022/23, UEFA even went on to exclude the Italian record champions from the Conference League due to financial violations.

Is Juventus’ dream start continuing?

Now the Zebre are back in the big league and have made a direct comeback with two drum rolls. For the first time since 2021/22, the Bianconeri could now start the Champions League main round with three wins in a row.

The team from Piedmont kicked off by beating PSV Eindhoven (3-1) and RB Leipzig (3-2). For the first time since 1995/96, when the team won the European Cup for the second and so far last time at the end of the season, it would now even be possible to start with three wins in a row, scoring three goals each.

Juventus have not yet lost a single competitive game under Motta

In principle, the tip for Juventus against VfB Stuttgart must also clearly tend towards a home win for the Vecchia Signora, who not only took the full six points in the Champions League, but are also the only of the 20 clubs in Serie A to remain completely unbeaten after eight match days (four wins, four draws).

But the whole truth is that, despite all their defensive compactness, Thiago Motta’s side have sometimes lacked offensive power when facing deep-lying opponents. The four draws against Roma, Empoli, Napoli (0-0 in each case) and the 1-1 against Cagliari are testament to this.

VfB Stuttgart – Statistics & current form

As German runners-up, VfB Stuttgart naturally believe they have a chance of spending the winter in the Champions League. To do so, however, they must finish at least 24th, which they currently share with PSV Eindhoven after two matchdays.

However, in view of the fact that they recently played a home game against Sparta Prague, the yield of only one out of six possible points must be described as too small to seriously hope to leave twelve teams behind.

A mixed start to the season for VfB Stuttgart

It would therefore be important for Sebastian Hoeneß’s team to perhaps get something out of the game in Piedmont after potentially losing two points, which in turn would be points that were not necessarily planned.

Especially since VfB Stuttgart, who have already conceded 15 goals in seven Bundesliga games, are currently only tenth in the Bundesliga and were crushed 4-0 by Bayern in the dress rehearsal on Saturday. The Swabians have thus been waiting for a further victory (three draws, one defeat) in four competitive games across all competitions.

It is therefore not surprising that the odds offered by the betting providers for the match between Juventus and VfB Stuttgart speak against the Bundesliga club. In the Happybet app, we find quotes of 4.25 for the away win of the white-reds, who have only won one of eleven European competitive matches against Italian clubs (four draws, six defeats) – a 1-0 win against Torino FC in the UEFA Cup in 1979/80.

Even in the Champions League, the Baden-Württembergers have only managed three wins in their last 19 competitive games (six draws, ten defeats). Nevertheless, it should not be completely ignored that VfB is the team with the third-highest possession rate in the still young Champions League league phase (65 percent), behind Bayern (69.9 percent) and Manchester City (67.6 percent). So there is certainly the ambition to make life difficult for Zebre.

Juventus – VfB Stuttgart Head to head / H2H record

There has never been an international competitive game between the two clubs before. Therefore, there is no direct “head to head” data available yet that could influence our Juventus vs. VfB Stuttgart prediction, although it should be noted that the Zebre have won all of their last five European competitive games against Bundesliga clubs.

The Swabians’ record is much less impressive. The white-reds have only won one of their 11 international competitive matches against Serie A representatives (4 draws, 6 defeats).

Juventus – VfB Stuttgart betting tip

The odds from the best betting providers are also going in the direction of the Zebre against Juventus against VfB Stuttgart, who have all won their last five European competitive games against Bundesliga representatives. The Swabians, on the other hand, did not even manage a win against Sparta Prague (1:1) and have not won in four competitive games (three draws, one defeat). Moreover, they have not scored a goal in their last 22 Bundesliga games, a first against Bayern.
It makes sense to at least rule out an away win for the Swabians, who have not had a good record against Italian clubs so far anyway. Since we do not expect a goal fest either, we recommend the combined tip on the double chance 1X at under 3.5 goals.

Betting odds of 1.87 are available for this at Juventus against VfB Stuttgart, which we are playing with four units at Betano.
