Iceland vs. Germany Tip Forecast & Quotas 08.09.2021

Iceland vs. Germany Tipp & Quota, 08.09.2021 – 20:45 – World Cup Qualification Europe

The national team of national coach Hansi Flick dethroned Armenia last Sunday with an Kanters victory in the World Championship qualification and took the lead in group J. The Strakarnir Okkar (our boys) had two home appearances against Romania and North Macedonia last week and remained without victory. Against European Championship participants from North Macedonia, the Vikings did not get beyond a draw and are more than ever afraid of next year’s World Cup participation in Qatar. The DFB-Elf leads the group with 12 points.

The Icelanders have only four counters on their side and are penultimate. A win in Reykjavik next Wednesday at the Laugardalsvöllur stadium is mandatory, otherwise the Vidarsson team will almost certainly miss second place and thus the playoff games.

Not surprisingly, the bookmakers’ quotas for Iceland against Germany are clearly in favour of the DFB selection. You can hardly ignore the tip on “Germany wins”. At the top, the online bookies offer odds of just over 1.20 on average.

Arnar Vidarsson’s national team did not get off to a good start in the qualifying game against North Macedonia, which Germany has already brought to despair with counter-football. After a corner of Alioski, Velkovski beheaded the 1-0 for the guests (11th). This was also the only highlight in the otherwise event-poor first half. When North Macedonia increased to 2:0 (51.) after a strong solo run by Alioski, everything pointed to the second home defeat for Strakarnir Okkar within a few days. But the home team scored in the final period, because Keeper Dimitrievski let a Gudmundsson free kick hit Bjarnason’s feet – 1:2 (78.). The North Macedonians were no longer lucky – Trajkovski hit the inside post and missed the 3:1 (81.). Almost in return, the substitute Gudjohnsen equalised 2-2 for the Vikings (84th). But the game wasn’t over yet. It got really wild again and in the extra time Schalkes Churlinov missed the 3:2 for the European Championship participant by centimeters, but Bjarnason saved spectacularly on the line (90th +4th).

The Vidarsson-Elf had to compete away in the first three World Cup qualifying games and started with two defeats in Germany (0:3) and Armenia (0:2). This was followed by the only victory in the current competition in Liechtenstein (4:1). Last Thursday was the first home game in qualifying for the Vikings and that was lost with 0-2 against Romania and at the weekend you couldn’t get past a 2-2 against North Macedonia at home.

Three years ago, the Icelanders contested their first world championship and were unable to gold the unexpected points win against Argentina in the opening match (1:1). Two defeats followed against Nigeria (0-2) and Croatia (1-2).

Iceland scored only six goals in five international appearances in the World Cup Quali and has six different scorers – Runar Sigurjonsson, Birkir Saevarsson, Victor Palsson, Birkir Bjarnason, Brynjar Bjarnason and Andri Gudjohnsen.

Last Sunday the four-time world champion played in a frenzy against Armenia in Stuttgart and also led with 2:0 through the double pack of Gnabry with 2:0 (6th, 15th). The DFB-Elf combined through the Armenian ranks and was really fun. The goals were scored partly as in the textbook, as in the 3-0 lead by Reus (35th) and Werner (44th) to the 4-0 half-time. After the side change Hofmann scored well from a distance and set 5-0 (52nd). The fair had long been read for the team of Hansi Flick, who were now a bit more relaxed. Nevertheless, the Germans still had good chances to lead much higher. In the final phase, debutant Adeyemi filled half a dozen against a poor Armenia – 6:0 (90th +1).

The Flick-Elf came well into the World Cup qualifiers after the weak European Championship. Although the 2-0 victory in Liechtenstein barely a week ago was not convincing in terms of play, the DFB team was all the more enthusiastic about that on Sunday with a 6-0 victory against Armenia. The only defeat in the group phase was against North Macedonia at home shortly before the start of the EURO – 1-2. The first two matches in Group J were successful with a 3-0 home win over Iceland and a 1-0 win in Romania.

On the way to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the German team has a lot to make up for. In the event of a successful qualification for the final round, things should then also go better than in 2018 in Russia with the embarrassing first-round exit after defeats in Mexico (0:1) and South Korea (0:2). The lucky 2-1 victory against Sweden at the last minute was worthless on balance.

The top three scorers in the World Cup qualification are Serge Gnabry (3 stalls) and Ilkay Gündogan and Timo Werner with two goals each. With 13 goals in the current competition, Germany is slowly but surely stalking the upper third of the most goal-threatening national teams.

Germany: 3 wins – 1 draw – 1 defeat

0 wins Iceland – 1 draw – 2 wins Germany

The German national football team is the favourites for the sixth game of the World Cup qualification in Iceland. The DFB-Elf started a fireworks display against Armenia and overthrew them from the top of the table. Strakarnir Okkar was looking forward to the two home games against Romania and North Macedonia after three away games for the start of the qualifying period, but only came to one goal in both games. Against the four-time world champion, a victory in the third home game in a row is also very unlikely.

The Vikings are not in good shape at the moment and will almost certainly miss the World Cup next year. We guess that the Flick-Elf will take the momentum from the Armenia game to Reykjavik and also win the second leg against Iceland. Accordingly, for this sports betting tip we consider the 3-way betting on Germany wins away. For the tip on the DFB selection, however, the online bookies only have odds on average around 1.20 to 1.24. If you are willing to take a higher risk, you can confidently play the handicap bets on Germany.
