Next BVB win on Rose’s return?

For the first time since his move from Borussia Mönchengladbach to Borussia Dortmund, Marco Rose will return to his old home on Saturday evening. Although the Leipzig-born manager’s departure was anything but quiet, the 45-year-old has nevertheless left an impression on the Foals. After all, it was under his leadership that the club reached the Champions League knockout phase for the first time ever.

Rose certainly doesn’t need to expect any love from the home side’s fans this weekend in view of the much-discussed change. But the football coach will probably be able to do without them as long as a tip on an away win between Gladbach and Dortmund pays off From a purely statistical point of view, such a win seems anything but unlikely, especially as the Black and Yellows have won eleven of the last twelve direct Bundesliga encounters.

Apart from that, the distribution of the odds in favour of BVB can also be justified by the current form of both teams ahead of the renowned top match Gladbach vs Dortmund. After five matchdays, the Rose team has exactly three times as many points on its account as the team from the Lower Rhine, which, as the third-last team in the standings, is lagging behind its own expectations.

Germany Gladbach – Statistics & current form

In the run-up to this season, the signing of Adi Hütter as Marco Rose’s successor was hailed as a real coup. In the meantime, however, supporters are no longer so sure whether the Austrian is actually the right man on the sidelines at Borussia. After the disastrous start to the season, Hütter’s odds of being the first coach to be sacked in the Bundesliga have already plummeted.

From an objective point of view, however, this comes as little surprise, since Adi Hütter has made the weakest start since Dick Advocaat in 2004 Only Holger Fach scored fewer points in his first games as Gladbach coach in 2002/03. A meagre four points are on the books after five matchdays. Only the home match against Arminia Bielefeld was won 3:1. They also drew 1-1 at home to FC Bayern on the first matchday.

Gladbach’s reality is lower third of the table

The positive thing is that the Foals are still unbeaten in their own stadium. On the negative side, however, is the fact that they have already lost three games this season In total, keeper Yann Sommer had to make nine saves. The logical consequence is currently the third-last place in the table and a tense atmosphere in the surrounding area, which could become even more dramatic in view of the next two tasks at home against BVB and in Wolfsburg.

If you also consider that the former German champions have only won one Bundesliga match against their upcoming opponents from the Ruhr region since May 2015 and have lost eleven of the last twelve direct duels, it quickly becomes clear why the odds are swinging towards the visitors between Gladbach and Dortmund.

Another complicating factor is that Adi Hütter has rarely been able to call on his best formation in recent weeks. Time and again, injuries have set the team back In the meantime, however, the number of players has been reduced and, with the exception of Lainer and Doucouré, all players are on board. Ex-Dortmund Jonas Hofmann also returns to the squad, but is likely to be on the bench for the time being

Predicted line-up of Gladbach:
Sommer – Scally, Ginter, Elvedi, Bensebaini – Kramer, Zakaria – Herrmann, Stindl, Plea – Embolo

Germany Dortmund – Statistics & current form

BVB fans certainly cannot complain about a lack of spectacle from their team in the first five Bundesliga match days. A total of 28 (!) goals were scored in the matches involving Dortmund, i.e. an average of almost six per match. It is therefore hardly surprising that betting on a large number of goals in the match between Dortmund and Gladbach on Saturday evening also offers attractive value.

This is supported not least by the statistics, which show that the Black and Yellows have always scored at least once in the past 15 Bundesliga matches against the team from the Lower Rhine. In total, they have scored 36 goals. Since 2013, the first-division team from Mönchengladbach has not managed a clean sheet against BVB.

Stable defenses are something both teams only know from the saga

Even more interesting: Looking back at the last twelve Bundesliga games in 2021, neither team managed to keep a clean sheet once. Consequently, a offensive match is to be expected this weekend as well, which is why it might make sense to take a closer look at the prices for over-goals in advance.

It might even be possible to combine a bet on both sides to score with a success for the Rose team, as Dortmund are brimming with self-confidence after winning four matches in a row. In all four Bundesliga victories this season, the combination of “BVB win & both score “ would have been crowned with success. So why not on Saturday evening at Borussia Park, when Erling Haaland, among others, will be looking to extend his outstanding streak.

The Norwegian wonder striker scored at least twice on three of the first five matchdays. In total, the blonde force of nature has already scored seven goals this season. The last BVB player to achieve this was Lothar Emmerich in the 1965/66 season. Should Haaland strike again this weekend, a corresponding forecast between Gladbach and Dortmund will be quoted at just 1.50. More appealing odds would be for him to be the top scorer in the Bundesliga.

Predicted Dortmund line-up:
Kobel – Meunier, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro – Witsel – Bellingham, Dahoud – Reus – T. Hazard, Haaland

United Kingdom Gladbach – Dortmund United Kingdom Tip

Football fans from the Ruhrpott will get their money’s worth on Saturday evening. From 18:30, the Black and Yellows are on in the Bundesliga, followed by FC Schalke 04 in Rostock fighting for important points in the race for promotion to Liga 2. However, we turn our focus to the Beletage of German football and are particularly looking forward to Marco Rose’s return to his old stomping ground.

The BVB coach will certainly not have any reunion presents with him, the direct duel is too important, in which the Westphalians want to keep up with the top of the table in the top flight. If we look at the betting odds between Gladbach and Dortmund, it becomes clear that a real mammoth task awaits the home side. After only one win from the last twelve direct duels and a disastrous start to the season, the role of the underdog is absolutely justified.

We have finally decided to give a combined tip in the Gladbach vs Dortmund match. On the one hand, we are convinced that Haaland and Co. will leave the pitch as winners. On the other hand, however, we do not believe that keeper Kobel will keep a clean sheet for the first time in his BVB time in the Bundesliga. Both teams stand for offensive approaches, but have had enormous problems in the past with being defensively stable.
