Will the in-form promoted team also score at Eintracht?

Fans of spectacular attacking football have not really got their money’s worth in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Bundesliga games so far. The Hessians are currently the minimalists of the German top flight, providing the weakest attack, but at the same time also the best defence in the league. Nevertheless, the performances of the 2022 Europa League winners at national level have not been really satisfactory so far.

Those responsible at 1. FC Heidenheim will be far more optimistic about the way the season has gone so far. The promoted team has as many points on its account as its upcoming opponents and has been in brilliant form, especially in recent weeks.

Coach Frank Schmidt’s team has lost only one of its four most recent league games and therefore travels to Deutsche Bank Park with a broad chest. Against this backdrop, the odds on a home win between Frankfurt and Heidenheim are far too low in our eyes to see any acceptable value in it.

A further complicating matters from the SGE’s point of view is the fact that they first had to play an intense and energy-sapping Conference League away match in Greece on Thursday evening, which they also lost 2-1 at PAOK Thessaloniki in the closing stages.

The possible mental fatigue combined with the immense physical strain opens the door for the uncomfortable guest from the Ostalb, who can definitely count on taking something worthwhile from the Stadtwald. It is quite possible that betting on the double chance X2 in the duel between Frankfurt and Heidenheim will turn out to be a worthwhile option.

Frankfurt – Statistics & current form

For a long time, Frankfurt’s new head coach Dino Toppmöller could boast of still being unbeaten across competitions. However, the corresponding series was stopped twice last week. First, the Eagles were beaten 2-0 by VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, before suffering the aforementioned 2-1 defeat in the Conference League on Thursday evening. On Sunday evening, they may be facing their third defeat in a row in a competitive match.

In any case, we wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a surprise coup for the visitors in Frankfurt against Heidenheim. Eintracht have failed to convince us so far, scoring a meagre four goals after six matchdays and thus not scoring more than one goal in any of the six Bundesliga matches mentioned above. Together with 1. FC Köln and Mainz 05, the Black-Red-Whites have the most harmless attack in the German top flight.

So far, only nine goals have been scored in six SGE Bundesliga matches

But compared to the other two teams mentioned, who are 17th and 18th before the start of the 7th BL matchday, coach Dino Toppmöller can at least rely on his defence. The Wolves were the first German team to score twice against the SGE the previous week. In total, five goals were conceded, which means that the Hessians currently have the statistically best defensive line in the top flight of German football.

In view of these figures and the fact that no bet on a score of over 2.5 has ever gone through in a BL match involving Eintracht, it is certainly worth considering the odds on a low-scoring match between Frankfurt and Heidenheim on Sunday. At Betano Sportwetten, for example, the Under 1.5 can be combined with a maximum of two SGE goals in the first half. At the top, a 1.75 beckons.

The Eagles should take hope from the fact that none of the last 13 home games in the Bundesliga was lost. In six of these 13 matches, however, the Hessians had to settle for a point. Since the ninth-placed team in the table has now waited five league games for a three-point win, it is too risky for us to make a prediction on the Toppmöller team in the league clash between Frankfurt and Heidenheim.

Heidenheim – Statistics & current form

1. FC Heidenheim is great fun at the moment. With a mixture of honest work, existing quality and a style of play developed over the years, last year’s runners-up in the 2. Bundesliga are currently causing a stir one tier higher. Seven points from six games is not an outstanding figure, but the lead over the relegation zone is already four points.

Apart from that, coach Frank Schmidt’s team has more than once proven its suitability for Germany’s best football league. The best example of this was the narrow 1-0 home win against Champions League participants Union Berlin the previous week. For the first time in their own first division history, the players from the Ostalb remained without conceding a goal and could also thank Jan Niklas Beste, who scored his third goal of the season.

In total, the creative player and standard scorer has already scored six goals this season. If you want to bet on another goal from the bearded winger, you can find appealing odds in the 4.50 range at Oddset ahead of the Frankfurt vs. Heidenheim match.

Heidenheim on the heels of Leipzig and Hoffenheim

Together with his congenial partner Tim Kleindienst, Jan Niklas Beste is the main guarantor for 1. FCH’s remarkable offensive, which has already managed to mark ten goals. With TSG Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, only two other debutants in the entire millennium could boast such a strong record in their first year in the top flight after six match days. However, both upstarts started with completely different prerequisites, while Heidenheim was considered one of the hottest candidates for relegation before the start of the season.

Because the Schmidt eleven can play extremely carefree and without any pressure, we trust the underdogs to win a point at Deutsche Bank Park. If you are looking for even higher top odds instead of 2.15 for double chance X2, you could bet on the Heidenheim side taking a 1:0 lead. In as many as three of six Bundesliga games, such a bet would have gone through.

Against the ambitious home side, who, with their own fans behind them, claim to want to be dominant, there will always be switching actions. Standard situations could also become a weapon, after all, five of the aforementioned ten goals in the season were scored on stationary balls. Eintracht are still waiting for their first standard goal in this Bundesliga season.

Frankfurt – Heidenheim Direct comparison / H2H balance

Only once have the two clubs faced each other at competitive level. In the round of 16 of the 2017/18 DFB Pokal season, Frankfurt narrowly prevailed 2-1 after extra time at the then second-division club in Heidenheim. The score was still 0-0 after normal time. The decisive goal in extra time was scored by none other than Sebastien Haller.

Frankfurt – Heidenheim Tip

With Eintracht Frankfurt and 1. FC Heidenheim, two table neighbours will face each other on Sunday evening in the last match of the Bundesliga matchday. Both teams have been able to add seven points to their accounts so far. While the SGE is not necessarily satisfied with this and has only ever been able to celebrate one three-pointer, the promoted team from the Ostalb can live very well with this result.

In general, Beste, Kleindienst and Co. travel to the Main metropolis with a lot of self-confidence. All seven points have come in the last four league games. Schmidt’s team is on a par with the competition and has an impressive weapon at its disposal in the form of its own standards, which should also be used against Eintracht. Subjectively, the betting odds on a home win between Frankfurt and Heidenheim are too low. Value is more likely to be found with the visitors.

Because it is a little too risky for us to place a win bet on the two- or three-way market, we tend to bet on the double chance X2 in the league clash between Frankfurt and Heidenheim.
