Next win and clean sheet for the Catalans?

Cadiz have not been among the favourite opponents of the table-toppers from Barcelona in the recent past. The FCB have only won one of the last five encounters and the underdogs from Andalusia have come out on top twice!

The last home match between the runners-up and the yellow-blue team ended in a 1-0 defeat around ten months ago. So the hosts are warned, especially as the 16th-placed team in the table has renewed hope in the relegation battle with two wins from their last three league games.

For the upcoming clash at the Camp Nou between Barcelona and Cadiz, the tip is still aiming for a home win to nil.

FC Barcelona – Statistics & current form

The FCB will rely on home advantage, among other things, against Cadiz despite their recent poor statistics. Together with Real Madrid, the 26-time Spanish champions are the only team in La Liga that has not lost in front of their own fans this season (8-2-0).

As a rule, the home side also set the course for a home victory in the first half: in six of the eight home games won, this course of play was observed – the highest number in a league-wide comparison.

Next home win with break lead?

In view of this, the betting odds on a renewed success for the hosts, including a lead at the break, also offer themselves in the duel between Barcelona and Cadiz. The prediction is supported by the visitors, who have already suffered four of their six defeats away from home, including trailing at the break.

Furthermore, the defence of the five-time Champions League winners is very secure at home: Barcelona conceded only one goal in front of their own fans in the city duel with Espanyol! The hosts also rely on Robert Lewandowski in the offensive. The ex-Bayern Munich player leads the scoring charts in La Liga with 14 goals in 18 appearances.

Pedri must pass in attack

Lately, Pedri has also been in good form in the forward play. The Spanish youngster, who only turned 20 last November, has scored in three of the past five league games. Moreover, they were always decisive goals – in all three cases his goal ensured a 1:0 victory for FCB!

However, the striker was injured last Thursday in the match against the “Red Devils” from Manchester, which ended with a 2-2 draw, and now has to miss the match.

With Pedri out and Lewandowski currently without a goal in three games, betting on Raphinha to score in the clash between Barcelona and Cadiz is equally advisable.

The Brazilian recently showed his match-winning qualities against Manchester United with a goal and an assist. Like Pedri, he has also been a prolific scorer in recent weeks, with the 26-year-old scoring in three of the last four competitive games.

Cadiz – Statistics & current form

Last season’s 17th-placed team in the Spanish top flight is currently only one place better off and is once again in a relegation battle. The players from the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla have caused themselves another difficult situation in the table, among other things due to a weak offensive. Only Elche, Mallorca and Valladolid score less in La Liga.

The weakness of the visitors’ attack can also be seen in the fact that Alex and Perez are still the club’s best attackers with a modest haul of three goals.

In this context, the club certainly expected more from Theo Bongonda. The Congolese attacker joined the club before the season from Genk, where he scored in double figures in the last two seasons. However, the 27-year-old has only scored twice in Cadiz, although he did at least deliver his first two assists of the season in the recent 2-0 win over Girona.

Cadiz is a welcome guest

On top of that, the Andalusian side’s away record so far does not inspire much hope: eight points from ten away games gives the “Yellow Submarine” only the sixth-weakest away record in the Spanish top flight.

They have already lost six of the ten matches they have played away from home, and their weak attack is also very restrained away from home. Together with Valladolid and Almeria, they have the lowest yield in the league with an average of 0.6 own goals.

However, the form of the guests has improved recently. Thanks to wins against Girona and Mallorca, they have left the immediate relegation zone.

Upswing limited to home appearances

However, both victories came on home soil and the interim trip to Bilbao ended in a clear 1:4 away defeat for the troops of coach Sergio Gonzalez.

The discrepancy in performances at home, where Cadiz are unbeaten in eight games, and the weaker performances away from home seems to continue.

FC Barcelona – Cadiz Direct comparison / H2H record

The hosts won the last direct encounter away at CF with 4-0. On the other hand, the hosts have been waiting for their next win in this pairing for two home games (0-1-1).

Prior to this drought, Barcelona had won five straight at home against Cadiz between 1989 and 2006.

FC Barcelona – Cadiz Tip

The prediction for the clash between Barcelona and Cadiz includes a home win without conceding a goal. The home side have only conceded once on home soil in league play this season.

In addition, the interim curse against Cadiz mentioned at the beginning, with four games without a win, was already put to rest for the time being in the second half of last season with a 4-0 away win.

Another factor in favour of the prediction is the hosts’ very stable form. With the exception of the recent 2-2 draw against Manchester United in the Europa League, Barcelona have won only 12 of their last 17 matches and have failed to win only two (15-2-0).

Cadiz also have little success on the road and, along with Almeria and Valladolid, have the weakest away attack in the league!
