Will Leverkusen overtake FCB in the standings?

FC Bayern is dominating German football these days and weeks. This is at least the view one could come to if three tables are taken at once. In both the men’s Bundesliga and the women’s top flight, as well as in the Regionalliga Süd, the respective FCB players are currently leading the field.

To ensure that this remains the case after the coming weekend, Julian Nagelsmann’s men in particular are under pressure. After all, the record champions are going to Leverkusen, who are in strong form. For the first time in the current season, it will be a direct duel between the leaders and the runners-up.

In addition to this absolute top match of matchday eight, we can look forward to several other exciting matches. Among other things, Dortmund and Mainz are battling it out for the top spot. Freiburg, in their first match in the new Europa-Park-Stadion, will be the only first division team to remain unbeaten, but they will be up against the up-and-coming Leipzig side. And VfL Wolfsburg also have their sights set on Union Berlin after two defeats in a row at the Alte Försterei

Germany Hoffenheim vs. Cologne Germany – October 15, 20:30

Before the season, we were still intensely concerned with relegation scenarios at 1. FC Köln. In the meantime, it seems almost certain that the Rhinelanders will have relatively little to do with the lower reaches in the current season. Coach Steffen Baumgart’s team continues to float on a wave of euphoria and is in an impressive sixth place with twelve points. With the exception of the narrow 2:3 defeat at FC Bayern, the Cathedral City side have not lost a single competitive match in 2021/22.

However, a damper is now looming on Friday evening, as the “Effzeh” did not look good at all against TSG Hoffenheim in the recent past. The past six Bundesliga encounters have all gone to the Kraichgauer, who, however, are four points behind their upcoming opponents in the standings and have only managed to win two games this season.

In view of these interesting facts, we are convinced that the home side will keep at least one point at home. Combine the double chance 1X with the addition that both teams will go for goal.

On the one hand, this is supported by the statistics that in all seven games involving Kölsche so far, the bet on “Both score” would have gone through. In addition, the Sinsheim side have conceded at least one goal in each of their last six home games. For the Bundesliga opener on matchday 8, the betting odds on 1X & BTS promise attractive value.

Germany Union Berlin vs Wolfsburg United Kingdom – 16 October, 15:30

Four times the two clubs have met in the Bundesliga so far, Union Berlin are still waiting in vain for a win (two draws, two defeats). Admittedly, the chances have never been as good as on Saturday. The trend points more in the direction of the hosts, who have recently celebrated two wins in a row, while the Wolves have lost twice in a row.

To make matters worse for the Lower Saxons, the Eisernen are now unbeaten in 20 home games (ten wins, ten draws) and last lost in front of their home crowd more than a year ago (September 2020). The fact that more spectators are allowed in the Köpenick football temple this weekend does not make the task any easier.

In principle, it is therefore conceivable to place betting tips on a home win in one of the top matches in the Bundesliga table (7th vs. 5th) on matchday 8. However, we believe that both teams will meet on equal terms after the international break and will largely neutralise each other in the first 45 minutes. Since both Union and VfL have scored more goals in the second half so far this season, we think the bet “More goals in the 2nd half” is plausible.

Germany Dortmund vs. Mainz United Kingdom – 16 October, 15:30

An also very exciting constellation we find before the duel Dortmund against Mainz. While the previous seven matches involving BVB have produced the most goals in the Bundesliga (32 in total), the Nullfünfer are minimalists. The FSV fans have not even seen two goals on average in their team’s matches (twelve).

A legitimate question, therefore, is which team can impose its boot on the other? Will there be an offensive spectacle á la Marco Rose or a “defensive skirmish” after the gusto of Bo Svensson? In fact, we believe in the attacking qualities of the Black and Yellows as well as in the return of Erling Haaland. Consequently, our first prediction goes in the direction of a home win.

However, since the odds on the three-way market do not offer any lucrative value in the eagerly awaited Bundesliga clash on matchday 8, we combine the aforementioned Borussia success with the addition that both teams will score In the past ten Bundesliga games, Dortmund have always conceded at least one goal, and the Rheinhessen side have also picked up four of a possible six points from their two most recent visits to Signal Iduna Park. A goal from Mainz, who also started well, is therefore definitely in the air.

Germany Frankfurt vs. Hertha United Kingdom – 16 October, 15:30

Many experts already assumed that the international break at Berlin Hertha would be used to present a new head coach. Despite noticeably increasing criticism, however, Pal Dardai is allowed to keep his job. When it comes to the question of the first coaching dismissal in the Bundesliga, however, the Hungarian naturally remains the hottest candidate among all his colleagues.

This view of things is not really surprising, because after two defeats in a row against RB Leipzig (0:6) and at home against SC Freiburg (1:2), the capital is once again having to deal with the issue of staying in the league.

Fateful game for Pal Dardai

The next defeat now looms on Saturday afternoon. The momentum is clearly on the side of Frankfurt, who won 2-1 at FC Bayern before the international break and thus celebrated their very first league treble under coach Glasner. Furthermore, because the last three Bundesliga encounters against the “old lady” have been victorious and the SGE is also unbeaten in 22 (!) Bundesliga home games, bets on Eintracht are a wise recommendation in the Bundesliga on Matchday 8.

Germany Fürth vs. Bochum United Kingdom – 16 October, 15:30

The prevailing theme in the direct duel between the two promoted teams from Fürth and Bochum is, of course, the fight against relegation in the Bundesliga. It doesn’t get any better than this, as the last-placed team from Central Franconia and their neighbours from the Ruhr region face each other. Last year, Bochum won the championship, while Spielvereinigung came second. This is perhaps interesting in that the most recent five duels have always gone to the respective second-division champions.

However, since statistics and series are there to be broken, we think that the better chance of winning on Saturday afternoon is the cloverleaf Why? Because the team of coach Stefan Leitl recently offered quite appealing performances at home. Especially in the 1:3 defeat against record champions Bayern, the Green-Whites were quite convincing in their own stadium. In contrast, the VfL has 1:13 goals away from home.

Although the Central Franconians have never won a Bundesliga match at home in the club’s history, we trust them to do exactly that this weekend. Bochum have not won any of their last eleven Bundesliga games away from home and have conceded four defeats in the current season. In the bottom of the Bundesliga, betting on Greuther Fürth on matchday 8 is more lucrative than it has been for a long time.

Germany Freiburg vs. RB Leipzig United Kingdom – 16 October, 15:30 hrs

Highly emotional was Freiburg’s farewell from the beloved Dreisamstadion before the international break. Coach, players and fans had tears in their eyes, but also experienced an almost perfect afternoon thanks to the 3-0 home win against FC Augsburg. The Breisgau side also followed up with a three-goal win at Hertha in Berlin a week later, meaning that coach Christian Streich’s side are currently fourth in the table.

Next Saturday, however, the only unbeaten team in the Bundesliga will face an opponent whose recent form has also been on the rise. The talk is of RB Leipzig. The Saxons recently celebrated two victories in a row and scored a whopping nine goals without conceding a single one. Due to their high individual quality, RB are favourites in this match.

However, it should be borne in mind that SCF have won three of their last four home matches against the reigning runners-up and that Leipzig have now played six away games in the German top flight without a win. Five of these six games away from home have been lost.

On the other hand, the SCF have played seven unbeaten home games in a row, although none of them took place in the new Europa-Park-Stadion. Nevertheless, in this exciting match in the Bundesliga on matchday 8, a prediction on the double chance 1/X is almost without alternative given the surprisingly attractive odds.

Germany Gladbach vs. VfB Stuttgart United Kingdom – 16 October, 18:30

After a far from positive start to the season, Borussia Mönchengladbach has been getting better and better lately. First, they beat BVB 1-0 at home, followed by a statement win at VfL Wolfsburg, which has already pushed Hütter’s team up to tenth in the table. However, the Fohlen’s sights are still set on the top, so that they will also be aiming for a three-goal win at home against VfB Stuttgart.

Will Hütter’s record against Stuttgart remain unblemished?

The direct comparison underlines that this undertaking is anything but easy. The team from the Lower Rhine has not lost more home games against any other club in the Bundesliga than against the Swabians. Gladbach have also only managed to pick up a single point from their last three direct encounters in the top flight.

Otherwise, however, there is a lot to be said for Borussia and coach Adi Hütter. The Austrian has never lost to VfB as a Bundesliga coach (two wins, two draws). In addition, Stuttgart have won just one of their last eight away games in the league.

Three goals scored in this period is also a weak figure, which leads us to bet on a home win for the Foals in Saturday’s Bundesliga matchday 8. Given the home side’s increased confidence, even betting on the double HT1/FT1 result seems perfectly justifiable.

Germany Leverkusen vs. Bayern United Kingdom – 17 October, 15:30

More top match does not go. On Sunday afternoon, Leverkusen and Bayern will clash in Germany’s top football league. The runner-up receives the first. The match does not necessarily have a trend-setting character with regard to the race for the championship, but it is nevertheless about the temporary top position in the Bundesliga.

The home side from the Rhineland can be expected to achieve a good result, as the record champions have won “only” five of their last 15 away games at the BayArena. Four of those five victories, however, came in a review of the past five duels in the Arzneistadt.

Will there be the expected offensive spectacle?

The fact that the Seoane eleven nevertheless has justified hopes of getting something countable is primarily due to their great form. In seven games this season, the Europa League participants have celebrated five victories and have already scored 20 goals. More than ever before at this early stage of the season. Against the susceptible defence of the leaders, who have conceded only once in the past nine Bundesliga games, a goal or two now beckons.

In general, we are convinced that in the clear top match of the Bundesliga on matchday 8, the quotes on many goals should be the first option for every betting friend. We commit to at least two goals being scored as early as the first 45 minutes, arguing that a corresponding Over 1.5 (1st HZ) bet would have been crowned with success at Leverkusen in six out of seven and at FCB in five out of seven in 2021/22.

Germany Augsburg vs. Bielefeld United Kingdom – 17 October, 17:30 hrs

From an absolute clash of two of the most attack-minded teams in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon, we are heading straight towards a duel in which defence will be paramount. There is definitely no thought of an offensive spectacle between Augsburg and Bielefeld.

Both teams have only scored three goals so far this season and thus have the weakest attacking lines in the Bundesliga. Moreover, because FCA chose a very destructive approach in their last home game against Gladbach, which ultimately led to a narrow 1-0 victory, it is unlikely that coach Markus Weinzierl will deviate from his approach.

The guests from the Alm, meanwhile, are the sub-par team par excellence anyway. In five of the seven games this season, the mark of 2.5 goals has not been broken at Arminia. To make matters worse, the East Westphalians have only managed to score two goals in six encounters against the Fuggerstädter. The bottom line is that betting on a maximum of two goals remains the most promising betting option in the last match of the Bundesliga on matchday 8.
