Who will punch the tickets for the European competitions?

The 59th season of the Bundesliga will officially be over next Saturday. Only the final two relegation matches between the 16th-placed team in the Bundesliga and the third-placed team in the 2nd division are still to be played. And the question of which Bundesliga team it will be that goes into this match still has to be settled this Saturday, among other things, when the ball will be rolling in all nine stadiums.

Three teams could end up in the relegation places. Arminia Bielefeld probably have the worst chances of doing so, as the East Westphalians not only have three points less than VfB Stuttgart, but also a goal difference that is seven worse. This means that if the Swabians were to lose 4-0 at home to 1 FC Cologne, for example, the Arminians would need a 4-0 home win over RB Leipzig, which would make the situation almost hopeless. Hertha BSC, meanwhile, have three points more than VfB on their account and would certainly be saved with a point win at Borussia Dortmund.

There is a little more suspense in the question of who will join Bayern, Dortmund and Leverkusen as the fourth German team in the Champions League. If RB Leipzig wins in Bielefeld, the Red Bulls will punch their ticket. SC Freiburg, however, could theoretically still pass the Saxons with an away win in Leverkusen. Meanwhile, if 1. FC Union Berlin wins against Bochum, the Eisernen can secure a place in the Europa League, which Cologne are also aiming for if the Köpenickers slip up. Accordingly, there is a lot of suspense in the last nine league games of the 2021/22 season, for which there are betting odds and tips on this page in the Bundesliga on matchday 34.

Dortmund vs. Hertha – May 14, 15:30

While Borussia Dortmund are already busy tinkering with their new squad for the 2022/23 season, Hertha BSC must first set the course for still being in the first division in the coming season. But at least the capital city’s starting position is good. If VfB Stuttgart fail to win at home in the parallel match, the old lady would certainly be saved. But in order not to have to hope for support, a point win at Signal Iduna Park would be necessary.

The Berliners are consequently forced to play along, which in turn should also open up corresponding spaces for the Black and Yellows. In any case, the matches involving Dortmund have recently been veritable shooting festivals. In five of the last six BVB league games, at least four goals were scored. Accordingly, there is a lot of value in betting tips for a high-scoring season finale in the Bundesliga on matchday 34, in which more than 3.5 goals are scored again.

Wolfsburg vs. Bayern – May 14, 15:30

Since winning the classic against Borussia Dortmund, with which FC Bayern made the defence of the Bundesliga title perfect, the kickers from the Isar have picked up only one of six possible points from the last two games against Mainz and Stuttgart. The Reds’ last competitive match of the 2021/22 season will therefore not be a foregone conclusion, especially as VfL Wolfsburg have been on the better side of late, picking up ten of a possible 15 points from their last five games.

However, the range of possible outcomes in this duel is gigantic. From a Wolfsburg home win to a point-splitting draw to a brilliant victory for the Reds, many scenarios are conceivable, which is why we prefer a goal bet. The greatest value in the Bundesliga on matchday 34 is offered by bets on the first goal being scored very early in the game. We therefore bet on an early goal before 19:00 minutes.

Leverkusen vs. Freiburg – 14 May, 15:30

Just a week ago, both rivals were in third and fourth place before the Black Forest side suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Union Berlin, which saw RB Leipzig move past Sport-Club again. Consequently, Freiburg now need an away win at the BayArena to be on hand in case the Red Bulls slip up.

The fact that the Werkself secured third place in the table with a 4-2 win in Hoffenheim is certainly an advantage for the team from Breisgau. However, it is not too likely that the final percentage points are missing because of this. After all, Bayer 04 have won all of their last four Bundesliga home games on matchday 34.

In view of the fact that Sport-Club have only lost two of their last twelve league games, we are still betting on the Black Forest side, who are doomed to win. However, in the Bundesliga on matchday 34, predictions should necessarily take into account the eventuality of the points being shared. Therefore, the most effective way to hedge your bets on Freiburg is to use “Draw No Bet”.

Union Berlin vs. Bochum – 14 May, 15:30

After losing four of five consecutive league games between February and March, it looked hard to believe that 1. FC Union Berlin were running out of steam after all in the home stretch of the season. Most recently, however, the Eisernen picked up 16 of a possible 18 points and moved up to sixth place in the table. The 54 points are already the best haul the Köpenickers have ever achieved in the Bundesliga.

If the capital city side can add a home win against VfL Bochum, they can book their place in the group stage of the Europa League. Consequently, there should be no lack of motivation, although the guests from the Ruhr area will also arrive in good form. The Blue and Whites won their last two league games with a total of 6:4 goals. Also because of this many goal participations it offers itself to use the betting odds for goals on both sides in this duel in the Bundesliga on the 34th matchday.

Gladbach vs. Hoffenheim – 14 May, 15:30

At the beginning of March, Adi Hütter was still facing the end at Borussia Mönchengladbach. The team from the Lower Rhine was in danger of slipping into the relegation battle after a messed-up season, but then kept the upper hand at home against Hertha BSC with 2:0. A game that can be seen as a turnaround, because since then the Foals have lost only one of their last eight league games (four wins, three draws).

Now, against Sinsheim’s poor form, who remained winless in the Bundesliga during the same period (three draws, five defeats) and thus also finally lost their participation in a European competition, a conciliatory end to the season is to be achieved. With a view to the recent momentum of the Fohlenelf as well as the quotes of the betting companies, it is also quite possible to bet on a home victory for Borussia.

VfB Stuttgart vs. Cologne – 14 May, 15:30

VfB Stuttgart have effectively lost only two of their last eight league games. However, because they have not won a league match since 19 March (four draws and two defeats most recently), the Swabians are still threatened with relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga. Direct relegation – as calculated at the beginning of this article – is not all that likely. But in order to avoid relegation, they not only need a home win over the Geißböcke, but also support from Dortmund.

The problem for the Swabians is the fact that the Effzeh themselves need the points. Cologne, seventh in the table, have at least secured their place in the Conference League, but with an away win and a little help from Bochum, they could still finish sixth and qualify for the Europa League.

Given that the Geißböcke have won five of their last eight league games (one draw, two defeats), bets on an away win for the Cathedral City side are more favourable in the Bundesliga on matchday 34, which would plunge VfB into relegation at the very least.

Mainz vs. Frankfurt – 14 May, 15:30

Internationally, Eintracht Frankfurt have made a splash recently with impressive wins over Barcelona and West Ham to reach the Europa League final, which comes just four days after their last league game in Mainz. However, at least the results in the Bundesliga have suffered from this fabulous run of the SGE. The Hessians have now been winless for seven league games (four draws, three defeats).

Oliver Glasner can again be expected to line up with the Europa League final in mind and rotate accordingly, which means that practically everything speaks in favour of the home-strong Rheinhessen side. They have won ten of their 16 home games, are fourth in the home table and have conceded just nine goals in their own stadium (best in the league). The betting odds for tip 1 in the Bundesliga on Matchday 34 are correspondingly interesting.

Augsburg vs. Fürth – 14 May, 15:30

SpVgg Greuther Fürth are the only Bundesliga side to remain winless away from home in the 2021/22 season, taking just four points from a possible 48 away from home, scoring just 12 goals and conceding 47 in 16 away games. All of these are unchallenged negative figures, which is why the cloverleaf, with a 15-point gap to the save shore, has been the first to be relegated for quite some time.

For the Spielvereinigung, the only thing left to do is to make a halfway decent exit from the top flight of German football before a radical change is imminent in the summer. FC Augsburg, meanwhile, also have a lot to make up for. The Fuggerstädter had already been saved prematurely by the 2-2 draw with Stuttgart in Munich before the start of their Sunday match. But the listless and unmotivated performance that led to the 4-0 defeat in Leipzig was still not in keeping with the way the Bavarian Swabians wanted to perform.

While FCA have lost four of their last five league games, they are anything but in form going into their final home game of the season. However, against Fürth, who are weak away from home, it should still work out in the end with a conciliatory end to the season. Consequently, the odds on a home win for the Fuggerstädter are the most interesting in the Bundesliga on matchday 34.

Bielefeld vs. RB Leipzig – 14 May, 15:30

The straw Arminia Bielefeld are clutching at in the run-up to the final matchday is as short as it is slippery. Even if VfB Stuttgart lose 1-0 at home to Cologne and receive support from the cathedral city, the East Westphalians would need a 7-0 victory over RB Leipzig to overtake the Swabians on account of their seven-goal difference.

Arminia will certainly try their luck. In view of the fact that the penultimate-placed team is currently winless in ten league games in a row (two draws, eight defeats), practically everything speaks in favour of the visitors from Saxony, who impressively shook off their exit from the Europa League semi-finals with a 4-0 victory over Augsburg at the weekend, as well as the small slump in the Bundesliga with two defeats in a row.

Accordingly, betting on an away win for the Saxons is the only alternative in the Bundesliga on matchday 34. To get a little more out of the odds, it is also advisable to set an Asian handicap of -1.5 and bet on a win with a two-goal difference.
