Does FCB deliver a shooting match?

The FC Barcelona women’s football team won the first leg in Italy 1-0. Now there is a chance to reach the semi-finals of the current Women’s Champions League 2022/23 in the second leg in front of their home crowd. Even a draw will be enough for FC Barcelona Femení to eliminate the Romans from the top flight.

In Rome, FCB could “only” celebrate a narrow 1-0 victory. Although the Catalans dominated the match for long stretches, FC Barcelona Femení only prevailed by a narrow score at the Italian representative.

This time, the Romans will have to risk much more to make a comeback in the quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League. If the FCB exploits the free spaces in the offensive game, a shooting match of the Catalans cannot be ruled out. Our FC Barcelona vs. AS Roma women’s prediction is aimed at that.

Barcelona – Statistics & current form

Fc Barcelona women’s footballers have not lost a match since losing to CA Osasuna in the Copa del Rey. In the last 13 competitive matches, there have been 13 victories to cheer. Most recently, FCB Femení even beat Real Madrid to win the explosive El Clásico in the women’s competition.

After the victory in the top match against the Madrilenians, the semi-finals in the Champions League are now on the agenda. FC Barcelona Femení will start the home match against AS Roma women as clear favourites and should not find it too difficult – especially with the 1:0 in the bag.

At home, FCB have dominated at will this season anyway, winning every competitive match so far this season. It is quite possible that the winning streak will be extended with another victory against the guests from Rome. The Catalans have already swept aside the likes of Benfica, Bayern and Rosengard in front of their home crowd in the top flight.

Does the FCB deliver a shooting match?

In the last five home matches, FCB have scored a total of 25 goals. That means an average of five goals per home win. If the Barca women take the momentum with them, it is obvious that the FCB will also bag a clear victory against AS Roma. The result in the first leg should not be overestimated.

After all, FC Barcelona Femení had dominated the match at will, firing a total of 34 shots in the course of the match. With 63% possession, FCB also had more of the game than their Italian quarter-final opponents. The victory against AS Roma was also the third win in the third competitive match against an Italian team.

On Wednesday evening, it is now obvious that the FCB will bag the next victory against an Italian club. Head coach Jonatan Giráldez is not expected to make any major changes from the starting eleven that was in action in last week’s El Clásico.

AS Roma Ladies – Statistics & current form

AS Roma women are expected to bow out of the Champions League this week. After the bitter 0:1 in the first leg, “Le Giallorosse” are after all with their backs to the wall and need a small football miracle at the home strong FCB to still enter the semi-finals of the royal class.

Although the visitors from Italy have played a strong season so far, this scenario is rather out of the question – especially after the poor performance in the first leg. With the championship in Italy, however, there is at least a small consolation for the women of AS Roma.

In the women’s version of Serie A, “Le Giallorosse” had after all dominated at will and still leads the table even with one game less on the account. With their current lead over their pursuers Juventus, the championship is therefore probably only a formality for the Roma Femminile.

Can Roma Femminile break down the FCB’s defensive bulwark?

Statistics from the Italian top flight should not be overrated with regard to the second quarter-final duel against FC Barcelona. Already in the first leg, the Roma Femminile’s offensive gritted its teeth and remained far too harmless against the Catalans’ strong defence.

Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that the women of AS Roma will also fail to score in the upcoming match against FC Barcelona Femení. Bets on this have a lot of value.

Since the first leg against FCB, the women of AS Roma have had a game off and could therefore prepare for the second leg without a double burden. Head coach Spugna has no further personnel worries compared to last week and is expected to go into the second leg with the same squad. Nevertheless, between Barcelona and AS Roma Damen, predicting an away win seems too risky.

Predicted line-up of AS Roma Ladies:

Caesar; Bartoli, Wenninger, Linari, Minami; Glionna, Giugliano, Greggi, Haavi; Andressa, Giacinti

Barcelona – AS Roma Women’s Direct Comparison / H2H Record

Last week’s match was AS Roma Women’s premiere clash against a team from Spain. Roma Femminile lost the quarter-final first leg 0:1 against FC Barcelona Femení despite home advantage. We also leave our hands off the odds on an Italian win between Barcelona and AS Roma Ladies.

Barcelona – AS Roma Ladies Tip

If the Catalans’ recent run of form is anything to go by, FCB Femení should not have too much trouble in their quarter-final second leg against Roma Femminile and could even bag their semi-final ticket with another win. FCB had already dominated at will in the first leg and successfully prevailed in Rome.

The result did not reflect the course of the game. The Catalans had realistic chances to extend their lead against AS Rome. The only thing that was lacking was the use of chances. If this can be improved, even a scoring festival cannot be ruled out in the return match. Therefore, the betting odds on over-goals between Barcelona and AS Roma Ladies seem particularly interesting.

We expect a clear home victory for the hosts from Catalonia and dare to bet on “Over 1.5 goals in the 1st half” for FC Barcelona vs. We are using five units for this. Even before the second half, the Catalan women’s offensive should ensure a clear balance of power and set the course for a place in the semi-finals. Bets on this have paid off in three of the last four FCB home games
