The two weakest offensives in the league among themselves
When Augsburg and Bielefeld clash at the end of the eighth matchday of the Bundesliga on Sunday evening, the entire competition will already have played. In particular, the winner of the other basement duel between Fürth and Bochum will probably have ensured that both opponents are below the line. The stakes are correspondingly high here.
The Fuggerstädter have a good record behind them. After six meetings, FCA is still completely undefeated against Arminia (five wins, one draw). Accordingly, in the run-up to the match between Augsburg and Bielefeld, the odds are swinging in the direction of the Bavarian Swabians.
The three-way system is not really suitable in this duel, despite the clear record. After all, the two worst offensives by far in the Bundesliga clash here. Both teams have scored only three goals in seven league games. The value of betting on a low-scoring match between Augsburg and Bielefeld is correspondingly high.

FC Augsburg were promoted to the Bundesliga in the summer of 2011 and have held their position in the top flight of German football ever since. FCA is currently above the line, but that could change this weekend. After all, it is clear that with Fürth and Bochum facing each other on Saturday, at least one of the pursuers will score. If the 15th-placed team then also loses to Arminia, things could get very dark indeed.

Despite the strong record, it is anything but a foregone conclusion to bet on a home win for the Bavarian Swabians against Bielefeld. After all, the Fuggerstädter are currently finding it extremely difficult to score goals. Only three goals have been scored in seven league games by the offensive team, in which top scorer Florian Niederlechner (two goals) is now out injured.

Arminia Bielefeld returned to the Bundesliga in the summer of 2020 after an eleven-year absence and actually managed to stay in the league under Frank Kramer after a not too popular change of coach in March this year.
Now, however, the East Westphalians are facing a complicated second year after having to let go many key players in the summer. At least some interesting talents came to the large city in the Detmold administrative district.

Nevertheless, success is still elusive. Among other things, the gap in the attack left by Andreas Voglsammer seems to be too big. With only three goals, the Arminen are the weakest offensive team in the Bundesliga, together with today’s opponents FC Augsburg.
Most recently, the East Westphalians went three consecutive league games without scoring a goal of their own, but conceded five more in the same period.
Still winless after seven matchdays for the first time since the 1996/97 season
At the same time, Arminia are one of only two Bundesliga clubs, together with Greuther Fürth, who are still winless in league play in the 2021/22 season. So far, they have only had to wait seven matchdays in the 1996/97 season before they were able to record their first win. Even then, however, there were not as few goals as today.
