Osasuna with the next win?

Osasuna will be looking to continue their good start to the season at promoted Almeria. The visitors have won three of their four league games so far.

For the “Almeriensistas”, the situation looks less rosy. They have only won one of their four league games and most recently suffered a defeat in the promotion battle with Valladolid.

In addition, Sadiq, the team’s best goal scorer, left the team before the last matchday. In the clash at the Power Horse Stadium between Almeria and Osasuna, betting on an away win or a draw seems to be profitable.

Almeria – Statistics & current form

UD still celebrated a somewhat surprising success against the Andalusians on the third matchday against Sevilla, but now a very difficult season for the newcomer is indicated in the meantime. The reason is the interim sale of Umar Sadiq to Real Sociedad.

The striker had scored the winner against Sevilla and was the club’s life insurance in the attack with a total of 38 goals in the past two seasons. Without him, the hosts’ attack must be considered much weaker.

The first proof came in the recent match at Valladolid. They lost 1-0 at a previously winless club and for the first time this season “La Unión” failed to score a goal of their own.

No goal for the home side again?

In view of this, the odds for a clean sheet on the visitors in the match between Almeria and Osasuna are also interesting. Furthermore, bets on less than 2.5 goals are a good idea.

While the home side’s attack is weaker, as described above, the defence has been stable so far. Only in the opener against the champions from Madrid did the red and white team concede more than one goal.

Apart from that, the offensive hopes now lie above all on Largie Ramazani. The Belgian has already scored twice this season, but it remains to be seen whether the home side’s second-highest scorer last term can fill Sadiq’s big shoes.

Sadiq also missing as an assist provider

This was not the case in UDA’s last match against Valladolid, at least for the time being. Here it became clear that the migrated Nigerian is not only missing as an enforcer, but also as a passer for his former offensive teammates.

With nine assists, he was also the most successful provider of assists at Almeria last year and the second best in La Liga 2.

Predicted line-up of Almeria:
Martinez – Ely – Babic – Kaiky – Eguaras – Costa – Pozo – Akieme Rodriguez – Robertone – Sousa – Ramazani

Osasuna – Statistics & current form

The Basques finished tenth in the last season, which is why the team from the Estadio El Sadar is probably very satisfied with their already three wins within the first four matchdays.

One reason for their successful start is their reliable attack, which failed to score only in the defeat against Betis Sevilla on the penultimate matchday.

Oroz now wants to take off

In this, among others, the youngster Aimar Oroz acts efficiently. The 20-year-old comes from the “Rojillos'” own youth team and only played two games in La Liga before this season.

But now coach Jagoba Arrasate seems to be relying on him: The youngster has been in the starting eleven in all four league games and with two goals already, the manager should feel vindicated in his decision.

Given Oroz’s excellent form, bets on his next goal in the clash between Almeria and Osasuna are equally worth considering.

Garcia is back in the squad

The Pamplona side also have their powerful midfielder Ruben Garcia back in the squad since the last matchday.

The 29-year-old scored a goal of his own on his comeback against Vallecano, although he was only on the pitch for just under 20 minutes in the 2-1 win over Rayo!

Predicted line-up of Osasuna:
Herrera – Garcia R. – Vidal – Garcia K. – Cruz – Torro – Moncayola – Oroz – Avila – Gomez – Budimir

Almeria – Osasuna Direct comparison / H2H-balance

The last time Almeria and the country’s four-time second division champions faced each other in the Copa del Rey was in January last year. The round of 16 match ended with a home victory for UD against “Gorritxoak” after a penalty shootout.

This ended a drought for the “Rojiblancos” of previously five comparisons without a win and only one of these games was not lost against Osasuna.

Almeria – Osasuna tip

Umar Sadiq scored straight away on his Real Sociedad debut against Atletico Madrid last matchday.

In Almeria, the goal will certainly have increased the pain of parting – until the third matchday, the extremely accurate striker was still to be found in the ranks of the home side.

Now the “Indálicos” have to manage without him and this has decisively weakened the offensive of the promoted team. In the last promotion season alone, the striker was involved in 27 goals for Coach Rubi’s team (18 goals & 9 assists).

In the upcoming clash between Almeria and Osasuna, the tip is therefore for an away win or a draw. This is also supported by the fact that the visitors have been more stable so far this season with three wins from four league games.

In addition, the aforementioned statistics of the pairing from the recent past point in the direction of the prediction: Only one of the last six duels was lost from the perspective of the semi-finalists of the UEFA Cup in 2007 and the defeat only occurred in the penalty shootout in the Spanish Cup.
