Will the Eagles make short work of the Jets?

Crazy NFL – Level 13 is the name of the game again on Sunday when once again anything is possible. For the Eagles’ game at the Jets, that means both a blowout win by Philly and an upset by the Jets are within the realm of possibility.

From a purely statistical point of view, however, a Philadelphia win is the more likely option, as they score 7.2 more points per game and also concede 7.6 fewer than New York. That makes a point difference of 14.8 per game.

For this reason, our prediction for Jets vs Eagles is also an away win for the franchise from the NFC East, which will keep their playoff hopes alive. For the Jets, on the other hand, this issue should be over after NFL Game Day 13.

Still, it will be exciting to watch how rookie Zach Wilson does going forward. Is he really the Jets’ franchise quarterback? We don’t expect him to back up that statement on Sunday.

Kickoff of the NFL Match Week 13 game is Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. The game can be watched live in the RedZone on DAZN.

New York Jets – Statistics & current form

The Jets are too good this season to grab the No.1 pick, but clearly too bad for the playoffs. The bottom line is they could end up blowing it like they did last year when they recklessly let Trevor Lawrence slip away.

So they have to make do with Zach Wilson this season, which is not a success story so far. Even though he won another game as a starter on Sunday, he again didn’t throw a touchdown, but did throw an interception.

Wilson still too unsafe

Wilson’s numbers also read disastrous. Only four touchdowns thrown compared to ten interceptions. The fact that the Jets have already won three games with that is almost miraculous, with backup Mike White pulling in one of the victories.

Still, Zach Wilson remains the Jets’ unwavering hope. They will go into the future with him, and so they must find a way to generate him a suitable playbook and capable weapons.

Running game the only bright spot for the Jets

Even though the Jets rank among the bottom of the league with just 86.0 yards per game, the running game has been exactly what has saved them in some games. They also scored 157 yards and two touchdowns on the ground last Sunday against Houston – and that was despite Michael Carter being out.

Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson are the names of their hopes now, and the running game might be their only chance for success against the Eagles as well. However, we don’t expect them to break 100 rushing yards again, which is why a pick against New York is favoured for Jets vs. Eagles.

Key Players:
QB: Zach Wilson
RB: Tevin Coleman
WR: Jamison Crowder
TE: Tyler Kroft
K: Matt Amendola

Philadelphia Eagles – stats & recent form

Quo Vadis Eagles? They put themselves in such a good position for a late run in the regular season, only to lose to the Giants. Especially offensively, they didn’t really cut a good figure – especially quarterback Jalen Hurts.

As strong as he is on foot, he is weak through the air in many games. Three interceptions with not a single touchdown speak a clear language. With a record of 13 TD with 8 interceptions, he is nevertheless clearly ahead of Wilson in this statistic.

Eagles superior in all respects

That said, against the Jets, this is whining at a high level. Overall, Philly is also clearly ahead of the Jets in all categories. Offensively they score 7.2 more points per game, defensively they concede 7.6 less. And also in the turnover ratio they are with -1 14 points better than NY (-15).

So they have to be the clear favourites for this game. The 6.5 to 7 points on average that the bookmakers are giving them are very little, which makes betting on Philadelphia a worthwhile affair.

What is Philly’s favourite status?

We see the Eagles ending up ahead by double digits, especially since when they do win, they know how to convince. In their last three wins, their lead at the end was 38, 17 and 11 points. So it should be possible to reach double figures against the weak Jets.

The fact that they have to play away from home does not play a decisive role either. On the contrary: Philly even feels more comfortable there this season (4:3 wins). Thus, the odds on the Eagles are clearly to be taken advantage of in New York vs. Philly, even with a clear handicap.

Key Players:
QB: Jalen Hurts
RB: Boston Scott
WR: DeVonta Smith
TE: Dallas Goedert
K: Jake Elliott

New York Jets – Philadelphia Eagles Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

Another point is clearly in Philadelphia’s favour on Sunday – clearer than clear. All eleven direct duels between these two franchises so far in the regular season have gone to the Eagles, without exception. This is unheard of in any other pairing in the NFL in over ten meetings.

That means the Jets have been waiting for a win against the Eagles since their inception in 1960 and since the NFL existed in its current form (1970). So will history be made on Sunday? We don’t think so.

Because for us, there is no way around Philly this weekend, which is why a bet on Philadelphia -7 for the Jets vs. Eagles is our clear betting recommendation. Even before a rushing touchdown by Jalen Hurts, which we also see as likely.

New York Jets – Philadelphia Eagles Tip

The Jets suit the Eagles, as evidenced by their 11-0 record in head-to-head matchups. The Eagles clearly score more points (7.2) and also allow less (7.6) than the Jets. So is there any point in favour of the Jets? No, we don’t see any.

Even the franchise’s recent win over the Texans was not a convincing one, which is why we see betting odds per Philly for Jets vs Eagles as very promising. A win by more than ten points difference is also a likely outcome here.

Alternatively, bets on a higher Philly win are therefore also in the draw. If they can win by 17 points against the Broncos and by eleven against the Saints, then they should be able to do the same against the Jets.
