Who will book the postseason?

Miami and Atlanta face off in a battle for seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The home side occupied that position at the end of the regular season, but now have to play another play-in game against the Hawks.

Miami Heat – Statistics & current form

The Florida franchise had three more wins on their record compared to the Hawks at the final tally of the regular season. In addition, the hosts won three of the four season-long duels with Atlanta.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra can also rely on the home bonus: The hosts have not lost to the men from Georgia for eight home duels.

Atlanta Hawks – Statistics & current form

The Hawks will rely on Trae Young first and foremost against Miami. “Ice Trae” has once again impressed in the visitors’ offence this season. The 24-year-old is among the top ten scorers in the NBA and ranks third in assists this season.

While Young missed the last game due to an injury, it was nothing more than a precautionary measure just before the now particularly important game. The same goes for fellow powerful guard Dejounte Murray, who was equally absent in the last game against Boston.

Miami Heat – Atlanta Hawks Tip

For the play-in game between Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks, the tip and the odds on more than 110.5 points by the visitors are worth a recommendation. While the home side have a strong defence, with only the Cleveland Cavaliers allowing fewer points on average to their opponents per game during the regular season, the visitors have clearly improved offensively since the coaching change at the end of last February.

Here Quin Snyder took over the helm from Nate McMillan and the former Utah coach has breathed new life into the Hawks’ offence. An example of this verdict was Atlanta’s last visit to Miami, which ended narrowly 130-128 in favour of the home side. In addition, the offensive upward trend can be seen in the fact that the guests remained under the selected limit of 110.5 points in only two of the 21 league games under Synder!
