On Matchday 7, Red Star (1-0 against Malmö) and Feyenoord (3-0 against Sturm Graz) also secured wins

Lyon, Aston Villa, and Freiburg have mathematically qualified for the Round of 16 with one matchday to spare. Three narrow victories: former Roma player Maitland-Niles was the match-winner for Fonseca in the away game against Young Boys, Jadon Sancho put Emery’s side ahead against Fenerbahce, and Matanovic secured the win for Freiburg against Maccabi Tel Aviv. A narrow win for Dejan Stankovic as well: Red Star won 1-0 against Malmo. Feyenoord scores a hat-trick against Sturm Graz: the Dutch side will battle for a playoff spot in the final round. Betis suffers a surprise defeat at PAOK: the Spaniards lose 2-0. Porto equalized against Viktoria Plzen in the 90th minute, 1-1. A thrilling 3-3 draw between Brann and Midtjylland: the Norwegians tied the game in the 10th minute of stoppage time thanks to a penalty by Soltvedt. The two-goal performance by former Sassuolo and Bologna player Erlic, a defender by trade, was in vain.
