Set to the tune of “Berlino” by Ernia (a Milan fan…) two guys wrote lyrics that are a bit tacky but sure to get clicks. The song went viral, and the Rossoneri midfielder became an idol in just a few days
In Milan, all the kids are humming it, and the chorus is easy to memorize. Not even the man in question, Youssouff Fofana—a French midfielder in his second season with Milan, who scored the winning goal against Torino on Saturday—could have imagined going viral with a song. And it wasn’t created by a French chansonnier, but by two guys from Milan who chose two unusual pseudonyms: Luca Tony and Gabri Kid.
the song— That’s right, because the parody of “Berlino,” a hit by Milanese rapper Ernia—who, incidentally, is a Milan fan—is taking Spotify by storm and continues to rack up views. It’s simply titled Fofana (the gray one at San Siro). Fofana, the gray one at San Siro will be gone/ You drive me crazy with how you play/ When you come on, I see three legs—what quality/ You’re strong because you remind me of Riky Kakà/ Unpredictable, but you’re the MVP/ And no one can stop you now. There are a few verses that could have been left out—in the sense that they’re a bit tacky—but that’s the rapper’s philosophy: take it or leave it… What matters is that Fofana has now become the true idol of the young Rossoneri fans… Maignan, Leao, Modric—certainly top-tier stars—but from now on, the San Siro crowd will get the Rossoneri’s number 19 even more fired up. His next step will be to take the stage with Ernia to turn “Berlino” into the song dedicated to him. A song that became a hit in just a few days.
