The man who assaulted the 13-year-old boy disputes the reconstruction of events. The man’s lawyer: “We will tell our side of the story.”

“I’m sorry and I apologize, I know I set a bad example. I did it to defend my son, but things didn’t go as they are being reported.” As reported by Corriere, this is how the 40-year-old man who invaded the field in Collegno on Sunday to attack his son’s 13-year-old opponent presented his “apology.” The man condemned his actions after entering the field when the fight broke out between the boys, but at the same time contested the initial account of events. An important contribution to the investigation comes from a video recorded from the stands that captures the entire fight.

The other version—  The 40-year-old’s position is also reiterated by his lawyer, Beatrice Rinaudo. “We are obviously very sorry for what happened to the boys, all of them,” adds the lawyer. “But there was no tackling and no kicking (although the video clearly shows the adult attacking the boy, ed.). The others have told their version, we will tell ours and take action in all the appropriate forums.” The 40-year-old has been reported for personal injury. The police may also issue him with a Daspo (ban from attending sporting events), while Volpiano Pianese, the team of the boy who was attacked, has withdrawn the team from the tournament.
