Will the Bears continue their home winning streak?
Andy Dalton is currently facing a lot of number one picks. First, he had to displace last year’s Bryce Young on his own team on the bench, and then he meets his successor Caleb Williams in our Bears vs.
Panthers tip. He is currently doing at least a little better than Young and so the Bears are also competitive. Yes, they even have an even record of 2-2 and are also doing better than the 1-3 Panthers.
Now they get to play at home, at Soldier Field, where they definitely feel most comfortable. The Bears have won both home games so far this season, as well as the last five in the preseason. With a win, they could extend their home winning streak to eight.
We also can’t imagine that the Panthers, of all teams, will be the party poopers, so our prediction for Bears vs. Panthers is another home win for Chicago. Their start to the season, at 3-2, wouldn’t look so bad.
Kickoff of the NFC-internal game is on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in Chicago. The game can be followed live on DAZN – as always in the REDZN.
Chicago Bears – Statistics & current form
The Bears have not had an outstanding season so far. However, it doesn’t matter if they can now set their record to 3-2 with a must-win game against the Carolina Panthers. Because then the goal of making the playoffs is definitely still achievable, especially since four more winnable games are on the schedule afterwards against the Jaguars, Commanders, Cardinals and Patriots.
They just can’t afford to underestimate the Panthers now, as happened to the Las Vegas Raiders last time. They are lucky that their own defense is significantly better than the Raiders’ and only allows 18.8 points per game – a top-8 value in the NFL.
Will the Bears offense explode?
Many experts are just waiting for the game in which Williams and his offense click and the Bears score 30 points. Now against the Panthers, the chances of their offense catching fire are better than ever. Their defense allows 32.3 points on average.
That would also lead to a high-scoring game, as the Panthers currently like to go along with shootouts. So for Chicago vs. Carolina, an over 42.5 total points tip is also a strong betting option. Points tips on the Bears over 23.5 or on the Panthers over 19.5 are further options.
Tips on Bears and Swift possible
In general, we also see the Bears ahead here – but by how much is another matter. As long as the handicap is around 4-5 points, handicap tips on Chicago are also promising. If it rises, then we would tend to advise against it.
On the other hand, an alternative is a touchdown tip from D’Andre Swift. He last scored 165 scrimmage yards and a touchdown against the Rams and will remain one of the Bears’ preferred scoring options in the future.
Key Players:
- QB: Caleb Williams
- RB: D’Andre Swift
- WR: DJ Moore
- TE: Cole Kmet
- K: Cairo Santos
Carolina Panthers – Statistics & current form
The Panthers are hardly recognizable offensively after Andy Dalton was named starting quarterback, but defensively, little has changed. After all, the team has allowed 28.0 points per game, down from 36.5.
But that is still one of the two weakest values in the entire NFL. That’s why we see little land even against the still faltering offense of the Bears. Their only chance of winning is to take another step defensively. Is that possible with this squad? Yes, but currently still rather unlikely.
With the Panthers and especially with Dalton, you get the impression that he is playing quite freely and not worrying so much. He has increased the risk to such an extent that interceptions can happen.
This will probably happen again against Chicago, especially since they have already intercepted five passes from opposing quarterbacks. In the end, that could also make the difference in what we expect to be an over-scoring game.
Tips on Panthers points an option
We would definitely avoid win bets on Carolina, but at least there is an option per Panthers that is in the game. So at Over 19.5 Panthers points are interesting to play on in the Bears vs.
Because Dalton is currently taking so many risks, it also increases his own point production. 36 against the Raiders, 24 against the Bengals. Another 20-point game wouldn’t surprise us.
Key Players:
- QB: Andy Dalton
- RB: Chubba Hubbard
- WR: Diontae Johnson
- WR: Xavier Legette
- K: Eddy Pineiro
Chicago Bears – Carolina Panthers Head-to-Head Record
The Bears have won the last three head-to-head meetings and six of the last seven. Another point in favor of Chicago on Sunday, with the Panthers not having won at Soldier Field since 2006.
Even though the last three meetings were considerably low in points, we now expect a slightly higher total for Sunday. Both the Bears and the Panthers have a better quarterback on the field than they have had recently. As a result, the odds for Over 42.5 total points are easily playable for Chicago against Carolina, which is mainly due to the extremely weak Panthers defense.
Chicago Bears – Carolina Panthers Tip
Tips on Chicago or on over-points, that is the question here. And we have found a very good answer by combining these two tips, but still mitigating the risk somewhat.
This gives us Chicago + Over 33.5 total points for Bears vs. Panthers at still good odds of 1.95. Because these 33.5 should be well within reach even if the Panthers are weaker offensively again.
Alternatively, as already mentioned, we have identified Bears running back D’Andre Swift as a TD target. A player bet on him is also a nice option given his recent performances.
