Toram Sunday afternoon at Goodison Park?
Everton take on West Ham in a crisis clash in the Premier League. The home side are the only team apart from Leicester still waiting for their first win of the season and the visitors are also in a relegation spot with just four points.
The hosts, however, will now rely on the statistics: They have not won more (27) or scored more goals (88) against any other team in the Premier League than they have against the Londoners!
On the other hand, their status as favourite opponents has diminished recently, with the visitors winning three of the last four meetings. For the upcoming clash between Everton and West Ham, betting on less than 2.5 goals seems to be profitable.
Everton – Statistics & Current Form
The “Toffees”, as described, have not yet won any of the six completed league games. However, they have been unbeaten for four rounds of matches at the same time.
Most recently they drew the Merseyside derby against Liverpool and at least their defence is comparatively solid. They have conceded an average of just one goal per league game so far.
Attack with room for improvement
In the offensive, however, things look very bleak. Due to the absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the clear best goal scorer is missing in this part of the team. In addition, recent addition Neal Maupay has yet to prove that he is a reinforcement for the attack.
The former Brighton player failed to score on his debut against the Reds. Just how weak the hosts’ attack is is shown by their tally of only four goals after six rounds of matches.
Only the upcoming opponents and Wolverhampton undercut this meagre output. In view of the fact that two teams on a similar playing level are now facing each other, the odds on a draw in the match between Everton and West Ham also suggest themselves.
This is also supported by the aforementioned current preference of coach Frank Lampard’s eleven for this fixture, as it would be the fifth draw in a row!
Predicted Everton line-up:
Pickford – Mykolenko – Tarkowski – Coady – Patterson – Davies – Onana – Iwobi – Gordon – Maupay – Gray

West Ham – Statistics & current form
The Hammers usually wake up too late or not at all. They have yet to be in front before the break in any of their league games – only four other teams in the Premier League also have this malus.
West Ham are also the only team in the division not to have scored in the first half.
No goal before the break?
With this in mind and the fact that the home side are also weak offensively, betting on no goal before the break in the match between Everton and West Ham is also worth considering.
At least the visitors have been able to improve on their completely unsuccessful start to the season.
After three defeats at the start of the season, in which they always failed to score a goal of their own, a win at Aston Villa and a respectable draw against Tottenham followed. However, in their last league game for the time being, they suffered another defeat at Chelsea.
West Ham already had to play internationally this week
Furthermore, the Londoners will be more tired than their opponents, having already been challenged in the Conference League this week. Moreover, the match against Silkeborg took place away at the Danes.
Furthermore, the capitals are weak away from home in the league: In 2022, they have already lost eight times away from home in the Premier League (3-1-8). Only the upcoming opponents had to record more defeats on foreign soil in the current calendar year.
Predicted line-up of West Ham:
Fabianski – Kehrer – Zouma – Emerson – Coufal – Rice – Soucek – Fornals – Paqueta – Bowen – Antonio
Last matches played by West Ham:

16/09/2022 – Silkeborg 2 – 3 West Ham

Everton – West Ham Direct Comparison / H2H Record
The Mersey side have been beaten 1-0 by West Ham in their last two home games, with the Toffees also suffering a 2-1 defeat in London in their most recent encounter last April.
Everton – West Ham tip
For the clash between Everton and West Ham, the prediction includes less than three goals. In the match, the two teams with the worst values in Expected Goals face each other.
In addition, the visitors will be a little tired, as they have already been challenged in the Conference League this week. Moreover, while the offensive lines are decidedly weak, the defenses have been comparatively solid.
Due to this combination, the league games so far have been low-scoring, with an average of 1.7 goals for the home side and 1.8 for the visitors.
Only Wolverhampton’s games have averaged fewer goals and only one of Everton’s and West Ham’s six league games has ended with more than two goals each!
Furthermore, few goals are a rarity in this pairing anyway: in only two of the past eight duels has there been a result with over 2.5 goals.
