Can Brunson convince against the Suns?

The Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks face each other in the Western Conference semi-finals of the 2022 NBA Playoffs on 03.05.2022. The visitors followed the home side into the second round of the postseason with a win last Friday against Utah.

The win made it a 4-2 series against Snyder’s squad and the first time the Texans have advanced past a first round NBA Playoffs match-up since winning the title in 2011. Prior to that, Mark Cuban’s franchise had failed to clear that hurdle no less than six times!

Phoenix Suns – Statistics & current form

Even without the temporarily injured top scorer Devin Booker, Head Coach Monty Williams’ team delivered a very decent offensive performance in the previous round against NOLA, averaging 110.6 points per game.

Only the Warriors had a higher field goal rate among the teams in the postseason. “Book, however, is now back on board. Chris Paul is also in great form again.

After his performance slump in the fourth game of the previous series with only four points, the “Point God” performed well again in the final two games with at least eight assists and 22 points against his old colleagues.

Especially the last game was unique from his point of view and in the history of the NBA: The guard sent all 14 attempts from the field through the trap! There have never been more successful throws in a row in a playoff game by a player.

Dallas Mavericks – Statistics & current form

The Mavs, like their opponents, also had to do without their top scorer Luka Doncic for several games. However, the Slovenian is fit again and showed his class in his three games against Utah.

The point guard delivered an average of 29 points against the hoopers from the Mormon state and at the latest with the return of the “ROTY” of 2019 it was clear that Dallas is the favourite in the series.

Only Denver’s Nikola Jokic, Miami’s Jimmy Butler and Boston’s Jayson Tatum have scored more successfully than the “Don” per game so far in the 2022 playoffs!

Phoenix Suns – Dallas Mavericks Tip

The basketballers from the Valley are not a favourite opponent of the Mavs: for about two and a half years and over nine duels, the Arizona franchise has always prevailed in this pairing! The teams have also faced each other twice in the playoffs.

In 2005, the Suns won the series 4-2 in the Western Conference semi-finals and a year later the Mavs won the Conference Finals by the same score.

For the upcoming clash between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks in Game 1, the tip aims for more than 19.5 points by Jalen Brunson on the visitors’ side.

The point guard has successfully filled the void on the offensive end during Luka Doncic’s absence and even with Doncic on board, the 25-year-old continues to perform strongly.
