Will Bayern stumble again in the Kraichgau?

Because Dortmund’s visit to Mainz had to be postponed until 16 March 2022, FC Bayern pulled even further ahead of their rivals last weekend. The German record champions, who advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a display of power against RB Salzburg during the week, enter matchday 26 with a nine-point lead over second place.

However, the Reds do not have an easy task ahead of them. On a matchday that does not feature a Friday game, but instead four Sunday games, the FCB plays host to fourth-placed TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday lunchtime. The team from the Kraichgau region recently celebrated four wins in a row and are therefore right at the top of the form table. Dortmund then have the chance to go one better a day later at home in the Westphalian clash against Arminia Bielefeld.

The top match on Saturday evening is also a tough one. Borussia Mönchengladbach (13th) and Hertha BSC (16th) are two struggling teams who, in the event of another defeat, could well see Adi Hütter or Tayfun Korkut, who have come in for criticism, thrown out of the club despite their managers’ declarations of loyalty. In any case, both teams are stuck in a relegation battle against the hope of perhaps making it into an international competition.

Union Berlin vs. VfB Stuttgart – 12 March, 15:30

1. FC Union Berlin did punch their ticket to the DFB Cup semi-finals last week. Overall, however, the Köpenicker are still searching for their first-round form. The Eisernen have lost four of their last five league games. That is as many defeats as from the 20 league games before that in total.

VfB Stuttgart, meanwhile, celebrated an important 3-2 home victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday and scored three points for the first time in nine league games in a row. The Swabians thus reduced the gap to the relegation place to one point, but now travel to an opponent against whom only 14% of all official matches have been won.

In addition to the poor record of the Swabians, two other aspects speak in favour of the Köpenicker. Firstly, Union Berlin recently won two home games in a row again. And secondly: In the duel between Union and Stuttgart, the away team has never won before. Accordingly, there is a lot of value in Bundesliga betting tips on a home win for the capital on Matchday 26.

Freiburg vs. Wolfsburg – 12 March, 15:30

SC Freiburg also punched their ticket to the DFB Cup semi-finals last week with a 2-1 win in Bochum, where the Black Forest side have a great chance to reach the final away to second division side Hamburger SV. The Sport-Club also took the momentum into the top match at RB Leipzig, where the Baden-Württemberger wrestled a 1-1 draw from the red bulls.

All in all, the SCF is now unbeaten in four league games and will be strong at home against the Wolves. Freiburg have not lost any of their last five Bundesliga home games and are also unbeaten against VfL for three home games in league play. However, after a long period of weakness, things have been a little better for the Lower Saxons recently. Wolfsburg won three of their last five league games and climbed to twelfth place. Nevertheless, we recommend betting on a home win for the in-form Streich team in the Bundesliga on matchday 26.

Hoffenheim vs. Bayern – 12 March, 15:30

With four wins in a row, TSG Hoffenheim moved up to fourth in the table last weekend as a laughing third (RB Leipzig and Freiburg only played to a draw in the direct duel). The Sinsheim side are now on course for the Champions League, but must now confirm their upswing against the very club that punched their ticket to the Champions League quarter-finals with a 7-1 victory over Salzburg last week.

Those who want to make predictions on the German record champions’ away victory on matchday 26 in the Bundesliga are nevertheless taking a big risk. After all, several factors speak against the Reds. The FCB has lost three of its last five Bundesliga away games in Hoffenheim, is playing its worst second half of the season in ten years with 16 points from eight games and has already dropped eight points after taking the lead. Accordingly, it is advisable to bet on a high-scoring duel with more than 3.5 goals.

Augsburg vs. Mainz – 12 March, 15:30

Looking at the table, things are going much better for 1. FSV Mainz 05, who are in ninth place with 34 points. FC Augsburg, on the other hand, picked up 26 points and, in 14th place, are only three points clear of the relegation zone. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that the Fuggerstädter have not recorded more Bundesliga victories against any other club than against Mainz (ten in total).

Moreover, the Bavarian Swabians have recently remained unbeaten in two consecutive league games, while the Rheinhessen side have now waited seven consecutive away games in the top flight of German football for another win. This explains why there are even betting odds available in the Bundesliga on Matchday 26 for this game, in which it is all the more advisable to go for the bet that both teams will score.

Gladbach vs. Hertha – 12 March, 18:30

With Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hertha BSC, two teams face each other in Saturday evening’s match that could definitely fight for a European starting place in terms of basic potential, but are both currently in a relegation battle. The old lady in particular is probably the biggest problem child at the moment. The “Big City Club” has the red lantern in the second half of the season and took only two of 24 possible points from the second half of the season.

The Foals, who only picked up eight points in the same period, have also been winless in three consecutive games, in which they conceded a whopping eleven goals. Nevertheless, at least the home record and the position in the current form table speak in favour of the team from the Lower Rhine. In order to cover as many eventualities as possible and also with a view to the fact that goals are to be expected on both sides, we opt for the combined bet on the double chance 1X on BTS: Yes.

Leverkusen vs Cologne – 13 March, 15:30

With an away win in Gladbach, Leverkusen returned to a Champions League starting place on matchday 19 and, in the wake of a very strong second half, have now already moved four points clear of fifth place. As a result, Gerardo Seoane’s side, who also drew 1-1 at FC Bayern last weekend, are fully on course in terms of their goals for the season.

The Werkself are accordingly favoured going into the neighbourly duel with the Geißböcken. Leverkusen are unbeaten in seven Bundesliga home games (five wins, two draws), while 1. FC Köln have only won two of their twelve away games so far in the 2021/22 season. Accordingly, there is a lot of value in Bundesliga betting on the Werkself’s next three points on matchday 26.

Dortmund vs. Bielefeld – 13 March, 17:30 hrs

Borussia Dortmund have certainly had alternate weeks recently. The black-and-yellows have won only one of their last four competitive matches, although they did show their enormous potential in a 6-0 home win over Borussia Mönchengladbach. Nevertheless, the last few weeks have been marred by the Europa League exit, while the disappointing 1:1 in Augsburg at the latest has probably reduced the remaining hope for the championship to a minimum.

With Bielefeld, however, a team is now visiting Signal Iduna Park that has lost three of its last four league games without scoring a goal of its own. With BVB unbeaten in seven games against the East Westphalians, there should be little to worry about in this match. Because the betting odds for tip 1 in the Bundesliga on matchday 26 are not all that attractive, we are also risking a bet on Borussia winning to nil in view of Arminia’s weakness in finishing, which is the worst offensive performance in the Bundesliga.

Frankfurt vs. Bochum – 13 February, 17:30

With Frankfurt (34 points, tenth place) and Bochum (32 points, eleventh place), two direct neighbours in the table face each other on Sunday evening. The VfL, who already won the first leg 2-0, could now overtake the Hessians if the SGE’s recent home slump continues. The Adler have lost their last four home games in a row. By comparison, there was only one defeat in the 27 Bundesliga home games before that.

Considering that the men from the Main metropolis had to play away in Spain in the Europa League during the week and have the double burden in their bones, while VfL Bochum have only lost one of their last six league games, there could well be something to be gained for the supposed underdogs. Because in the Bundesliga on matchday 26, the odds for an away win for the Blue and Whites are still attractive enough when hedged via “Draw No Bet”, this is where the greatest value can be found.

Fürth vs. RB Leipzig – 13 March, 19:30

Who would have thought that SpVgg Greuther Fürth, who took big steps towards direct relegation right from the start, could also start positive series in the 2021/22 season? In fact, the cloverleaf is currently unbeaten for six Bundesliga home games in a row (three wins, three draws). Only Mainz (eight) and Leverkusen (seven) can currently boast longer home series.

However, the Central Franconians now face the in-form Saxons, who have not lost any of their last seven competitive matches (five wins, two draws). In addition, RB Leipzig have not lost any of their 23 Bundesliga games against a promoted team (20 wins, three draws). Accordingly, betting on an away win for the red bulls is a pretty safe bet in the Bundesliga on matchday 26. We even recommend a small Asian handicap of -1.5 for this.
