Is Spurs’ recent run continuing?

There has been a development for the better since Antonio Conte took over as Tottenham coach. Spurs have gone unbeaten in all four league games under their new coach, picking up ten points from a possible twelve, scoring an average of 1.8 goals per game and conceding just one. The Londoners will now travel to the King Power Stadium with the corresponding confidence.

Leicester City have also been doing better recently. They have won their last two home games in a row, with the Foxes scoring four goals in both victories. Accordingly, the odds are swinging in the direction of the home side ahead of the Leicester-Tottenham encounter.

With Spurs missing two matches due to a quarantine, it is not easy to bet on the outcome of the match between Leicester and Tottenham. All the more reason to avoid the three-way system and bet on a high-scoring match. After all, both teams have been able to prove their goal scoring prowess several times in recent weeks.

Leicester – Statistics & current form

Leicester City won the FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history this summer. This continued the contemporary success story of the team that surprisingly became champions for the first time in the 2015/16 season.

Only a few weeks after winning the cup, the Foxes also secured the Community Shield, which meant that even the fact that they only managed third place in Group C of the Europa League could not dampen the good mood in Brendan Rodgers’ camp.

Only two wins in last seven league games

After all, the Foxes are still in the Conference League, in which Leicester are the heavy favourites against Randers FC in the intermediate round and even have a serious chance of winning the overall title and their first European cup in view of the competition in the knockout round.

Against this backdrop, it is correspondingly little disturbing that in the Premier League, with only six wins from the first 16 league games, only eighth place is currently on the record. Brendan Rodgers’ side have only won two of their last seven league games (two draws, three defeats).

Won their last two home games by four goals each

Both wins, though, have come in the last two home games at the King Power Stadium, where the knot was also broken offensively against Watford (4-2) and Newcastle (4-0). The Foxes have already scored 27 goals in league play.

The team from the East Midlands will now be favourites going into matchday 17 when they host Spurs, a team that has not exactly covered itself in glory this season either.

Tottenham – Statistics & current form

At Tottenham Hotspur, Nuno Espírito Santo’s brief spell in charge ended just a few weeks ago, with the club losing five games in ten league outings under him. Antonio Conte, a promising successor, took over, who had great success in his previous positions, but also left scorched earth behind at times.

So far, the Italian’s success has proven him right. In the league, Spurs remained unbeaten in four games under Conte and picked up ten out of a possible twelve points. This means that the Londoners can look to the top again.

The personnel situation is still unclear

The question now, however, is how the Lilywhites will cope with the recent trouble surrounding the quarantine. Their Conference League game has been unceremoniously cancelled and could see them green-lighted out of international competition, while there has also been a break in the Premier League.

It is still an open question as to what line-up the resurgent Londoners will take to the King Power Stadium, where they won an away game in commanding fashion 4-2 back in May 2021.

Averaging 1.8 goals per league game under Antonio Conte

At any rate, it is clear that Antonio Conte has pulled the right levers at Spurs. The attack is on fire again, scoring twice as many goals per game under the Italian as under his predecessor Nuno Espírito Santo (1.8 goals on average instead of 0.9), while the defence has also been stable, conceding just one goal in four league games.

Accordingly, betting on a point win for the Lilywhites against Tottenham is by no means out of the question, although there are a few too many open questions when it comes to placing a bet. It is much more sustainable to bet on a high-scoring match.

Predicted line-up of Tottenham:
Lloris – Reguilón – Davies – Dier – Sánchez – Tanganga – Höjbjerg – Skipp – Son – Moura – Kane

Leicester – Tottenham Direct Comparison / H2H Record

Head to head: 37 – 21 – 58

There have been a total of 116 meetings between the two teams so far and with 58 wins, exactly half of all games have gone to Spurs, who also recorded a 4-2 away win in their last away game at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester – Tottenham Tip

When it comes to Leicester vs Tottenham, the prediction has to take into account that the Lilywhites took a very positive development under Antonio Conte. Spurs took ten points out of a possible twelve with 7-1 goals in league action. Meanwhile, the Foxes have won just two of their last seven league games, but both of those victories came at home, when four goals were scored each time.

The question is still open whether one or the other player might not be absent after the quarantine of the visitors, which could also have an impact on the forecast. The most sustainable bet therefore seems to be that at least three goals will be scored, which takes into account the resurgent offensive lines of both teams.
