Bavarian derby in Augsburg
The last international break of the year is now behind the clubs. From now on, the focus is back on the clubs. On Friday, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann has a special match on the agenda. Not only will he be taking the FCB to the derby in Augsburg, the Munich coach was employed by the Fuggerstädtern as a player and scout.
Maybe it’s just as well that he still seems to have knowledge of FCA’s procedures, as Julian Nagelsmann has not recorded more wins against any other club as a professional coach.
The Bavarians are, after all, already back in extremely good form. 28 points after eleven matchdays are the best haul in six years. Needless to say, the Munich team is at the top of the league table and the forecast for the match between Augsburg and Bayern is clearly for an away win for the record champions.
Augsburg FC have been getting into their stride after a very bumpy start, but have not yet managed to leave the red zone behind them. Currently, Markus Weinzierl’s team is in the relegation zone and under these circumstances, it is probably more than just a tendency to place a bet on the Reds in the Augsburg vs Bayern clash.

The pandemic is also a very big topic in the Bundesliga. At FC Augsburg, it has hit managing director Stefan Reuter. Apparently, however, it was possible to isolate the official from the team in time so that there are no positive cases among the players and thus no quarantine-related absences.
Sleepy Augsburgers
The Augsburgers are the sleepyheads of the Bundesliga. This season, FCA have already conceded eight goals in the opening quarter hour. That is the worst value in the league. Nevertheless, they have managed seven points from three games at home. That is perhaps the only aspect that could prompt you to play the odds on the home side winning a point between Augsburg and Bayern.
Augsburg had to travel before the internationals and nothing is going right away from home this season. Thus, they conceded a 0:1 defeat in Wolfsburg. However, this match showed that the Fuggerstädter seem to have gained some stability, which will be extremely important, especially against FC Bayern.
Although there were no positive tests, FCA have a few absentees, but for injury reasons. Tobias Strobl and Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee will continue to be out. The Bayern game is also likely to come too soon for Felix Uduokhai. Florian Niederlechner, Iago, Jeffrey Gouweleeuw and Reece Oxford, however, should be available, despite injuries.

Bayern – Statistics & current form
It was a turbulent international break for Bayern, as five internationals were forced to depart from their selection teams and enter domestic quarantine. In the meantime, the situation at the record champion has eased and the focus can return to sport. Robert Lewandowski in particular should be looking forward to this.
Lewandowski Show in Augsburg?
The Pole has scored 13 goals this season and thus has four more goals on his account than the entire FC Augsburg. He has also scored 21 times against the Fuggerstädter in 17 Bundesliga games. Sounds like a prediction of at least one Robert Lewandowski goal should fit between Augsburg and Bayern.
Every now and then Bayern slip up, but overall they have 15 wins from their last 17 games. Before the internationals, however, the Munich side struggled in their 2-1 home win over SC Freiburg, although Leon Goretzka and Robert Lewandowski scored to give them a 2-0 lead. In the end, the victory was deserved, but once again the Munich side failed to play to nil.
With Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala and Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, four players were able to leave quarantine. Niklas Süle, who tested positive, is not symptom-free and will miss this week. On the other hand, FC Bayern does not currently have a single player who has to miss out due to injury.

Augsburg – Bayern Direct comparison / H2H balance
Geographically, the distance between FC Augsburg and FC Bayern is not that great. In sporting terms, however, the two clubs are worlds apart. A look at the direct comparison makes that clear. The two teams have crossed paths 53 times and Bayern are clearly ahead with 37:10 wins and six draws.

Early goals cannot be ruled out either, especially as the Fuggerstädter show themselves to be extremely susceptible, especially in the early stages. However, Weinzierl’s eleven have won points from their last three home games.
The only question is which bet promises the best profit. One might lean towards more than 3.5 goals, the other looks at the quotes on a handicap win for FCB. We think we have to take FCA’s early goals against into account and have decided to play the betting odds on HT/FT of the record champions between Augsburg and Bayern.
