Ten win in a row for the Suns?

The duel between the Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks is a top game in the Western Conference. The runners-up are in second place and the visitors are third in the West. The hosts have now not lost in nine rounds of play and are therefore in a particularly stable condition.

They have also rediscovered their home strength. While they lost their first two games in front of their own crowd, they have now won five in a row at home in the Footprint Centre. For the clash between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks, the forecast includes at least nine assists by Chris Paul on the part of the hosts.

Phoenix Suns – Statistics & current form

The Phoenix Suns had a surprisingly weak start to the new season. Only one win managed in the first four rounds of games. Apparently, the hangover after losing the NBA Finals last season was still too strong. In the meantime, however, the men of head coach Monty Williams have regained their composure.

As mentioned, the hosts are currently on an impressive nine-game winning streak and the rise in form at the Valley is obvious. In addition, Chris Paul is once again the best assister in the NBA. The “Point God” delivers an impressive 10.4 assists per game and is the only player in the league with a double-digit yield.

CP3 diligently builds on legend status

In addition, Paul now sits third on the all-time list of best assists in the NBA after surpassing two league icons in Mark Jackson and Steve Nash last week.

Only Jason Kidd, current coach of the upcoming opponents, and John Stockton are now ahead of him, although also by a very large margin. In addition, only five other players in NBA history have managed more than 10,000 assists besides him.

Suns have rediscovered their home strength

The Pacific Division squad can also count on home court advantage: Only the first two of the seven completed home games were lost. In view of this, the odds on a home win with at least a seven-point difference in the duel between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks are also of interest.

Although the Texans are also very solid and are right behind the Arizona team in the West standings, the odds of winning away from home drop to 50 percent. In addition, Maxi Kleber, an important defensive player in the visitors’ ranks, is absent due to injury.

From the point of view of the three-time winners of the Western Conference, the return of Deandre Ayton is again pleasing. The centre celebrated his comeback in the recent win against the Timberwolves from Minnesota after having to miss five games due to injury.

But there is no sign of the injury anymore, as Ayton was under no minutes restriction against Minnie and delivered a new season-high in points as well as a double-double in points and rebounds.

McGee has proven his worth at the five

In addition, his backup JaVale McGee has proven during his absence that he can definitely fill in for Ayton. One example was his monster performance in the recent win against the Rockets, when he still delivered a stately 14 boards and 19 points in just 25 minutes of play!

Predicted Phoenix Suns lineup:
Booker – Paul – Bridges – Ayton – Crowder

Dallas Mavericks – Statistics & current form

The Dallas Mavericks are more than on target with third place in the once again strong Western Conference, but their record away from home has been mediocre so far. They have only won half of the six games they have played away from home. Moreover, the victories were only achieved against average teams like the Raptors and, most recently, the San Antonio Spurs.

On the offensive end, however, head coach Jason Kidd, who succeeded Rick Carlisle in the summer, can rely on Luka Doncic. The Slovenian Rookie of the Year from 2019 continues to perform at the very highest level and carries the troops from the Southwest Division.

Doncic has already produced ten double-doubles this season, with Jonas Valanciunas of the Pelicans alone topping that haul by one more double-double, and the exceptional player ranks first in each of the D-Town’s scoring, rebounding and assists categories.

Mavs with improving forward play

Overall, though, the basketball team from the second-largest state in the US still has room to improve on the offensive end: Only eleven teams in the league have a lower offensive rating than the Mavs with 107.1. In light of this, the odds on a maximum of 104 points by the visitors in the duel between the Suns and Mavericks are also worth a recommendation.

Predicted line-up of Dallas Mavericks:

Finney-Smith – Powell – Porzingis – Hardaway – Doncic

Phoenix Suns – Dallas Mavericks Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

Phoenix clearly belongs in the drawer of fearful opponents for the Texans: the last six duels were all lost from the Mavs’ point of view. However, at least two thirds of the defeats were close affairs with a maximum difference of six points.

On the other hand, the away record of the two-time winners of the Western Conference can hardly give them hope either: Only two of the past ten guest games in the Grand Canyon State have been victorious.

The bookmakers’ odds also place the home side as favourites for the upcoming edition at the Suns’ Purple Palace against the Mavericks.

Phoenix Suns – Dallas Mavericks Tip

The basket hunters from the Valley of the Sun are back on track. After a mixed start, they currently have nine wins in a row and only the Warriors and Hornets scored more points per game.

Furthermore, the hosts have the best field goal percentage in the NBA with 47.7 and since the last game Deandre Ayton is available again at the centre position – there was no sign of his injury when he returned. For the game between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks, the tip aims for more than eight assists by Chris Paul.

The point guard is once again unstoppable as an efficient distributor of spalding. With an average of more than ten assists he leads this ranking in the NBA and in the home games this number even rises to an average of 11.3 assists. This means that his home record for assists is more than two times higher than his output in the visiting games.

Only in two of the seven home games so far did CP3 not exceed the selected limit of 8.5 assists. Bet365 offers odds of 1.66 on the Phoenix-Dallas clash for their predictions.
