Will the Falcons also succeed in Dallas?

After the embarrassment is before the redemption? That could be the motto for the Cowboys on Sunday when they host the Atlanta Falcons at home in AT&T Stadium. They can immediately make up for the 16:30 defeat at the same venue against the Broncos.

This will not be easy, however, as Atlanta have won four of their last six games and the two defeats came within one score of each other. So the Falcons can even dream of the playoffs again after a bad start to the season.

The most recent meeting of these two teams last year was probably one of the most spectacular games in recent NFL years. The Falcons had actually already won, only to completely blow an onside kick by the Cowboys at the end.

So there is also something for Atlanta to return the favour. In Cowboys vs. Falcons, our prediction is a very offensive game that should not have a clear winner. Games between these two teams often end with a close result.

Kickoff for the NFL Week 10 game is Sunday night at 7pm and it can be watched live on DAZN’s RedZone.

Dallas Cowboys – Statistics & current form

What was going on with the Cowboys on Sunday? Midway through the fourth quarter, it was actually already 0:30 from their point of view – and that at home against a Denver team that was mediocre at best. That’s what you call an off-day.

But we will find out on Sunday whether this was really just a negative flash in the pan or the start of a nasty trend. Then it’s the same place against the Falcons, who are in very good form at the moment.

Prescott not yet back to 100%

The clear defeat was particularly unusual because quarterback Dak Prescott was back on board, unlike before against the Vikings. However, his caution was still noticeable and with only 232 yards he didn’t have the best day.

Nevertheless, it is a positive sign for Dallas to have the playmaker back on the field and he should already feel more comfortable against Atlanta, if he gets some more time. Against Denver, he was put under pressure on almost every play.

The Falcons could learn from this and use it as a tactic. Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has to be prepared for that. If the Cowboys can find solutions here, then the offensive machinery should start up again.

Defense regressing to old times

Besorging, however, was the performance of the defence, which was almost as bad as in 2020. 190 allowed rushing yards is a value that can hardly be enough for a win. The D-line must be plugged as quickly as possible, otherwise it will also be tight against Atlanta.

They have the fourth weakest running game with 80.4 yards on average, but a year ago they already ran for well over 100 yards in Dallas. For this reason, betting on a clear Cowboys victory in Dallas vs. Atlanta is not recommended. The Boys prefer to win by a narrow margin this year anyway.

Key Players:
QB: Dak Prescott
RB: Ezekiel Elliott
WR: Amari Cooper
TE: Dalton Schultz

Atlanta Falcons – stats & current form

The Falcons have achieved the turnaround. Although they are only 4-4 this season, all of their wins have come within their last six games. In addition, they have finally managed to win the close ones this season.

Last year it was a running gag that the Falcons lost a game three times even though they had a winning probability of over 99% during the game. That was a novelty in the NFL – and not a positive one for Atlanta.

Nervousness much better than last year

This season, they won four of the six games that were decided within a score. That was also the case last Sunday, when they triumphed 27-25 in New Orleans.

Matt Ryan had an almost perfect game with 343 yards, two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown, almost single-handedly leading Atlanta to victory. He has been supported by running back Patterson this season, who has mostly been a pass receiver.

Patterson as all-purpose weapon

The newcomer racked up 126 yards through the air against the Saints, making him the best pass receiver as a running back. However, he’s also had to fill in since Calvin Ridley retired from professional sports. A severe weakening for Atlanta.

If the Falcons can build on their performance of the last six weeks, at least we don’t expect a big loss. And in a close game, odds on Atlanta +7 are definitely more bettable than Dallas for Cowboys vs Falcons.

Key Players:
QB: Matt Ryan
RB: Cordarrelle Patterson
WR: Russell Gage
TE: Kyle Pitts

Dallas Cowboys – Atlanta Falcons Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

We’ve mentioned this incredible preseason game before, when the Falcons were one onside kick away from winning, but then collectively blacked out and forgot to throw at the ball.

So they gave Dallas one last chance, which they promptly took to make it 40-39. In previous years, too, the games were very competitive and if a team was able to win something more clearly, it was the Falcons.

That’s why a bet on the Falcons in Dallas vs. Atlanta is our secret tip. But even if we give them another 7-10 points as a handicap, the value is still very high. We should take advantage of this when betting.

Dallas Cowboys – Atlanta Falcons Tip

The oddsmakers see the Cowboys ahead by 9-10 points. The same was the case against the Broncos the previous week. The game ended then with a bitter defeat in their own stadium. This should not be repeated, but a clear success of Dallas is not to be expected.

That is why the odds on the Falcons are to be favoured in any form for Dallas vs. Atlanta. Both handicap bets +7 are an option, as well as on them to score more than 22.5 points. Against this Cowboys defense, this should be very doable.

Alternatively, betting on over points is also an option. Last year, 79 points were scored in this matchup and generally, the Cowboys as well as Falcons are considered offensive teams. Therefore, betting on over 54.5 total points is a good option.
