Next win with clean sheet for the Blues?
Leaders Chelsea will be looking to consolidate their place in the sun with a treble against Burnley. The chances of this are excellent: the visitors have not yet won any of their five guest games this season and the majority have been lost. A pointer to the course of the upcoming game in London was also the performances at other top teams such as Liverpool and Manchester City.
Not only did BFC lose each of those games, but they also failed to score. With the best defence in the Premier League on the line, Chelsea’s prediction against Burnley is a home win with a clean sheet.
Chelsea – Statistics & current form
The league leaders have already scored 16 goals in their first five league games on home soil: The last time such a successful yield was achieved was eleven years ago and only twice in Chelsea’s history have there been more at this comparatively early stage of the season (1959/60 & 1958/59).
However, they are currently missing two strikers in Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner. However, this did not stop Chelsea from a recent 3-0 victory at Newcastle. Reece James is in good form at the moment, with four goals and two assists to his name.
In general, the attack has been the measure of all things in terms of efficiency: With a conversion rate of 25.7 per cent, Chelsea have the best value in this ranking ahead of the Reds. By way of comparison, their upcoming opponents have a conversion rate of only 10.9 per cent.
Tuchel on the trail of “The Special One “
Coach Thomas Tuchel has also stabilised the defence in London: Against Burnley, the former PSG and BVB coach will play his 30th game as Chelsea coach and in 18 of them so far, the Blues have kept a clean sheet.
No club in the British top flight has topped that tally since he took charge last January. Jose Mourinho alone surpassed that record with a total of 22 clean sheets in his first 30 games in charge in the Premier League.

Mendy – Silva – Christensen – Rudiger – Chilwell – Jorginho – Kante – James – Ziyech – Hudson-Odoi – Havertz

Burnley – Statistics & current form
The Clarets recorded their long-awaited first win of the season last weekend. This was achieved against the promoted team from Brentford. The Clarets can also congratulate themselves on the recent signing of Maxwel Cornet: The Frenchman arrived from Lyon and only appeared in five league games, but in those he scored a whopping four goals.
Coach Sean Dyche, however, cannot be satisfied with his team’s defensive performance so far this season – especially in the second half of the game. Almost 70 per cent of the 16 goals conceded were conceded after the tea break.
At least two goals after the break?
As a rule, therefore, the visitors’ defence degrades as the game progresses. Against this background, the odds on more than two goals in the second half are additionally endowed with value.
The defensive weakness in the second half is also a reason why Burnley could only win one of six league games in which the Clarets were in the lead. Only bottom-of-the-table Norwich and the Magpies have been even weaker after taking an interim lead.
Clarets are a welcome guest
BFC’s away record also offers little hope: apart from Newcastle and Norwich, they are the only team in the British top flight still winless (0-2-3). In view of this, the odds on a home win with a two-goal difference in the showdown between Chelsea and Burnley also offer value.
Predicted Burnley line-up:
Pope – Mee – Tarkowski – Taylor – Lowton – Gudmundsson – Westwood – Brownhill – McNeil – Wood – Cornet
Last matches played by Burnley:

10/30 2021 – Burnley 3 – 1 Brentford
Carabao Cup
10/27 2021 – Burnley 0 – 1 Tottenham

10/23 2021 – Southampton 2 – 2 Burnley
10/16 2021 – Manchester City 2 – 0 Burnley
10/02 2021 – Burnley 0 – 0 Norwich
Chelsea – Burnley Direct comparison / H2H record
The Londoners won both duels last season and both by nil. Thanks to these victories, the home side have a run of seven matches in this pairing without defeat and only one of these games was not won!
From a statistical point of view, it is therefore not surprising why the odds are clearly in favour of a home win for Chelsea against Burnley
Chelsea – Burnley tip
CFC against the Clarets is an unequal duel: On the one hand, the top of the table and on the other hand, the bottom of the table, who have not yet won away from home. For the duel between Chelsea and Burnley, the tip is therefore for a home win without conceding a goal.
The home side have already won three of their five home games with a clean sheet and no team in the Premier League has conceded more this season (7). The enormous defensive strength can also be observed in the Champions League: Only a narrow 1-0 defeat to Juve saw them concede a goal after four group games now.
Moreover, the Londoners have won the last three duels against Burnley to nil and the visitors’ attack has not been very convincing so far. Only Southampton, Spurs and bottom side Norwich score less. Betway offers betting odds of 1.83 on the clash between Chelsea and Burnley.
