Frankfurt with confidence from the Bayern game?

It’s the duel of table neighbours – but both would certainly have wished in advance that they would be neighbours in higher table places. When Eintracht Frankfurt hosts Hertha BSC on Saturday at 15:30, the thirteenth in the table will meet the fourteenth in the table.

Neither team has had a good start to the season. With six points from seven games, Hertha have even made their worst start to the season since 2009/10.

After all, Eintracht from Frankfurt could go into the international break with a good feeling, as the SGE managed to break free on matchday 7: The surprising 2:1 at FC Bayern Munich was the first win of the season.

The question is: Could Frankfurt maintain this high over the international break? Will the second win come on Matchday 8?

When we look at the odds for Frankfurt vs. Hertha, the best betting providers tend to say ‘yes’. That’s because the SGE go into their home game on Saturday as favourites.

Those who place their bets on the home side before Frankfurt vs. Hertha will receive an average of 1.75. Not too bad an offer, after all, it makes sense to bet on the Hessians, who are strong at home.

Frankfurt – Statistics & current form

Why it makes sense to bet on Frankfurt is also shown by these statistics: Eintracht is undefeated for 22 home games. This means that Frankfurt currently has the best home streak of all Bundesliga teams, as they ended the previous best record of FC Bayern Munich on the very last matchday.

The 2-1 away win at the Allianz Arena was a real coup and liberation for Frankfurt Eintracht. You could also see it in the jubilation afterwards how much the three points at the record champions did the team good – no wonder, after all it was the first win of the season.

Frankfurt go into the game against Hertha as favourites – with good reason

In terms of the standings, things are looking a bit better now and things can go up quickly if they can get it right on Saturday against Hertha. A home win could see the SGE jump into the top ten of the table. The Frankfurt team is also encouraged by the fact that it has won each of its last three matches against Hertha.

Even though they have not yet won at home this season and the success in Munich was their first, coach Oliver Glasner’s team is very difficult to beat. This is shown by the five draws in the seven games this season. As is well known, there has only been one defeat – that is the same number as the top teams Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen have on their account.

So you can expect a motivated, poisonous SGE on Saturday. We therefore think it’s a good idea to bet on Frankfurt vs. Hertha to win at home – especially as Hertha have not made a good impression this season.

Predicted Frankfurt line-up:
Trapp – Ndicka, Hasebe, Hinteregger – Sow, Jakic – Durm, Kamada, Kostic – Lammers, Paciencia

Hertha – Statistics & current form

Neighbours Hertha are aiming for three important points again after the supposed liberation strike fizzled out recently. The two victories against promoted Bochum (3:1) and Fürth (2:1) are likely to be classified as flash in the pan, and Hertha’s first two wins of the season also came against the weakest teams in the Bundesliga.

Against teams of a different quality, however, it has not been enough so far – not even to win a point. Hertha has lost all five of its other games. The 6-0 defeat at RB Leipzig was a real cause for concern.

Before the international break, Hertha lost 1:2 at home against SC Freiburg. This home defeat only exacerbated the current state of crisis that has the club in its grip.

Dardai is fighting for his job at Hertha

“Very many talks” Hertha coach Pal Dardai says he had with his players during the international break to finally get back to playing successful football – after all, Dardai’s job is also at stake. “We need a result,” said the Hungarian, who is currently the top candidate for the next sacking, as the bookmakers’ odds on a change of coach in the Bundesliga show.

But contrary to Dardai’s assurances at the press conference that he spent “a very good ten days” in training during the international break, we don’t believe the visitors will win.

Although the betting odds on Frankfurt vs. Hertha come in at a lucrative 4.75 on average, there are few sporting reasons for us to believe that Frankfurt’s impressive unbeaten streak at home will now come to an end.

Predicted Hertha line-up:
Schwolow – Pekarik, Boyata, Stark, Plattenhardt – Tousart – Richter, Darida, Serdar, Mittelstädt – Piatek

Frankfurt – Hertha Direct Comparison / H2H Balance

3:1, 3:1 and 4:1 – these are the last three results from the point of view of Frankfurt Eintracht, who have not only won each of their last three games against Hertha, but are also unbeaten in their last five meetings.

So the recent trend is in favour of the SGE, but the overall balance is in favour of Hertha. For out of 66 games in the Bundesliga, Hertha have won 29, with 18 draws and 19 wins for Eintracht.

Frankfurt – Hertha Tip

The duel between Frankfurt, thirteenth in the table, and Hertha, fourteenth in the table, should be won by Frankfurt in the end.

For us, Frankfurt vs. Hertha has a lot going for it in terms of a home win. Basically, there are Hertha’s weak performances so far this season, Frankfurt’s home run and the fact that the SGE has only lost one game so far despite a weak start to the season.

And then there’s the win at FC Bayern, which should give the SGE a boost.
