Wolfsburg v Bochum Tipp & Quoten, 14.08.2021 – 15:30 o’clock
On Saturday afternoon, 14.08.2021 at 15:30, the VFL Wolfsburg will host the VFL Bochum in the Volkswagen Arena at home on the 1st day of the Bundesliga. The Lower Saxony qualified for the Champions League as fourth in the league table last season and thus played a strong season. The Ruhrpottclub is after 11 years 2nd league back in the highest German league and rose from the lower house as champion.

Ex-manager Oliver Glasner’s team finished fourth ahead of the final day of last season and thus secured the CL-Quali. So the wolves were able to cope with the home defeat on the 34th matchday against Mainz 05. The VFL came one minute before the intermission by Boetius 0-1 behind (44.), before Philipp was able to equalize directly after the restart to 1-1 (47.). The cheering of the home team did not last long, however, because Quaison shortly afterwards marked the new tour for the Rheinhessen (54th). After that, the encounter in the Volkswagen Arena calmed down somewhat until the Lower Saxony equalised 2-2 by Joao Victor (66th). In an open final period, FSV were lucky enough to score a 3-2 away win (77th) through Bell’s header.
The van Bommel-Elf performed on average during the last days of the season and lost one of four matches (two wins, one draw) before the end of the season. In their own four walls, however, it was almost impossible to beat them with three defeats from the last four home appearances – Bayern (2:3), Dortmund (0:2), Union Berlin (3:0), Mainz (2:3). Nevertheless, it was enough for a good fifth place in the home table with the second-best home defensive (16 goals conceded). With 37 goals conceded in the entire season, the defense was also the second-best in the league. The wolves were also offensive at CL level (61 hits).
In the first round of the DFB Cup, Wolfsburg made a substitution error on the weekend and brought one player too much in overtime. Most likely the 3-1 victory at the fourth division Prussia Münster is revoked and the VFL is out of the cup.
On Saturday, Paulo Otavio, William and Bartosz Bialek will be absent due to injury.

The VFL had already secured promotion before the last home game of the second division against SV Sandhausen and underpinned their claims to the first division with a well-deserved 3-1 victory. After half an hour Pantovic decapitated the 1:0 for the Ruhrpottclub (29th). After the break, Behrens allowed the visitors to equalise after an hour, but in the final period Bochum secured victory by hitting Losilla (78th) and Zulj (87th).
The Reis-Elf lost only one of the last six league games at the end of the season and was the winner four times during this period. For Bochum, however, the away games did not go satisfactorily with only one win from the last four games – Paderborn (0-3), Heidenheim (2-0), Darmstadt (1-3), Nuremberg (1-1). Nevertheless, the VFL was the third best guest team in the 2nd league and also had the third best away defensive with 23 goals conceded. After the entire season, 39 goals were conceded. Only Holstein Kiel was even safer at the back. With 66 goals of the season, only the HSV and fellow climbers Greuther Fürth scored more often.
At the weekend the VFL Bochum was on the road in the DFB Cup and eliminated the Fifth Division FV Engers 07 in the first official game of the season with 3:0 as expected.
Locks or injuries are not known. The climber can therefore travel to the north in the best line-up.

Bochum: 3 wins – 0 draws – 2 losses
4 wins Wolfsburg – 2 draws – 4 wins Bochum
The VFL Wolfsburg are favourites for the first three points of the season against the VFL Bochum. The Lower Saxony are now a well-established first division team and play in the Champions League this season. The club from the heart of the Ruhr area is back after 11 years of first division abstinence and will play against the relegation from the beginning. The Reis-Elf is reigning second division champion and can travel to the Volkswagen Arena with confidence despite the underdog role. The end of the season was good and the first round of the cup was mastered confidently. However, Bochum struggled in the last guest appearances. With the wolves, the substitution error in the DFB Cup caused a lot of unrest and the last games of the SEASON of the VFL were not really good either. Nevertheless, we are guessing a narrow home win for Wolfsburg.
